    Some of the biggest bass in a lake will live in and around docks throughout the entire year. Sometimes just knowing where they are can help you to catch them. I love using a big swimbait to pull big bass from under docks where later I can go back and catch them.
    Another big dock fishing tip that I always like to go by is keep lure choice simple until you start catching fish. Once you know where bass are on docks, you can start experimenting with colors and lure choices to narrow down what the bass want.
    One of the biggest dock fishing tips I can tell you, once you start catching bass on a certain area of the dock, concentrate on that area on every dock. Sometimes this could be the outside poles and sometimes this could be the walkway. Experimenting is the only way to figure it out, but once you do. Stick with that for every dock! until you stop catching fish.
    BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

    Great video. I’m strictly a bank fisherman, and I’d love a few more vids in this area. Especially how to attack younger ponds that hold no real structure. Just round or oval bowls so to speak.

    Your videos are great. You not only talk about the gear needed, you also take the time to show how the process works. Not by just catching fish, as some pros do, but stressing how to cast the lure over & over. That’s what’s lacking in a lot of other videos. Thanks!

    This was an excellent video! Question, when approaching a dock in a tournament, is it best to make the first cast right into the dark heart of the dock to go for the big one first, or is it best to start working around the edges first and progressively fish deeper/farther back into the middle of the dock? Thanks!

    • @BassFishingHQ
      @BassFishingHQ  3 года назад +3

      That’s a great question. My theory behind that is in the spring I like to go for the heart of the cover first. I believe that is where the biggest bass is going to be and with cooler water in the spring the fish can be a little more skiddish (not a word). So I would rather just catch that one big one. In the summer, I don’t think it really matters as long as you stay off the dock. Sometimes catching fish in the summer gets the other fish all curious and they actually bite better, like an offshore school, but under a dock

    Thank You for this fantastic video! I just lived this on Thursday. I was stuck on fishing where I "normally" catch fish this time of year which is 20-25 ' of water. The bite had been dropping off so I just had to move. Went to the docks and started catching fish. I live on the south shore of Lake Ontario between 2 large bays off the lake. Wind has me fishing the bays a fair amount and the lake is not what it once was anymore either until you get closer to the St Lawrence. I also fish the Finger Lakes a lot so I really like it when you specify clear water tactics and bait. Thanks again and keep them coming!

    Great vid Ty! Pre fishing with a glide bait or medium to big swimbait with no hook, way to go I think. Then in basses mind he just missed a big meal is all. When I come back in few days that swim bait gonna be smaller with hooks fish outside then attack in side with chatter bait or jig. Biggest or best point is. In deeper water diffently fish bottom and top of the vertical post!!!!!!!! Bottom with bottom bait top with swim jig or chatterbaits. The top water approach is the REAL juice Ty lol.

    Docks may hold fish, but on our lake you'll be lucky to catch anything bigger than 12 inches on the docks. Dozens of small ones, nothing of size. Only deep enough to float a boat on them. Now that first drop off a little ways from the dock, that's where you'll find the big ones. 30 years there has taught me that catching dozens of little ones is going to happen on our docks. Strange, even our pads don't produce. Underwater terrain features is where anything of any size lives on our lake. The docks are so you don't get skunked.

      @BassFishingHQ  3 года назад +1

      If these are floating docks you are talking about. I have seen a lot of fish suspend right below the floats even over 35-40 deep. Sometimes fishing a topwater or small swimbait right down the dock you will be able to pull fish out. If these are pole docks, then fish could position the same way or they may be close to the bottom where a drop shot may be your best bet

    There may be big fish under docks. But I'll never know. Can't stand to go out into nature and be around man-made stuff. Just ruins it for me. That's why I seek out the most remote parts of a lake to fish. Where there are no houses, development, or mans ugly marks on nature.
