Joe look like the cool big brother everyone wanted
Mario is the back bone of the band tho. Not many people can cover what Mario has done, nor write new stuff to his standard if he leaves.
Patricia Rosa (mom of Duplantier brothers) in an interview said: Mario, five years younger, was an expansive, funny, lovable, carefree and open child. Spunky and outspoken, he always respected others. He was popular. I remember dropping him off at school when he was five and seeing a flock of kids running to meet him chanting “Ma-rio, Ma-rio!” like a drumbeat, in unison.

+noobslayer135 He was to me. I met him after a show and I just so happened to have a tooth punched out in the pit while they played. And he offered to refund my ticket money for the show. haha. It was their first tour to the U.S. and it was a small show so I respectfully refused. But he gave me a shirt and wrote on my flyer "sorry for your tooth" :)

He's come a long way.....in the early interviews, Mario could barely get through three sentences without getting stuck. Now he's fluent, but still has that deep accent.
As an American I understand it clearly. You guys in France are lucky to have these guys from your homeland truly treasures. Cheers from the U.S

I lost my mother in 2015 to cancer and I gotta say listening to Magma has helped me cope with some of the pain I've been carrying. This band has always held a special place for me but relating with them on this level makes it feel even more special. "It's in the past you have to let it go."

I love these 2 human beings.
After this interview I can say that Gojira is my favorite band ever. It was a toss up between Gojira and Opeth. The love these two brothers share give Gojira their precision and strength. Spiritually these guys are on another level and they project powerful light energy, using metal as the means to move hearts.
I tried to get into Opeth with Blackwater Park, I listened to Flying Whales and then the entirety of From Mars to Sirius and I was instantly hooked, I guess I just dont like Opeth's sound although I have huge respect for their musicianship and technicality.
@@DareBrad opeth has a vast sound actually. I didn't like some songs starting out too. I tried them again with damnation especially windowpane and I love them now

I love how Mario's default facial state is either bored or sad. But I love this band. Never was into the more progressive stuff but these guys changed that for me. "The Heaviest Matter of the Universe" is my favourite song of all time. Joe's vocals are amazing and Mario is Vinnie Paul on roids.

+EvoSvex Everyone's going to recommend you From Mars to Sirius, but if you ask me The Way of all Flesh is just as much of a great album. These guys are at the forefront of modern metal, they write intelligent and powerful music, and above all they're an absolutely amazing live band. I can attest that.
Such emotionally intelligent men and metalheads. I ignored these guys for years, but they may legitimately be the best metal band ever for my money.
Same. I'd heard of them and their music and I was like meh for a while. Then I saw them live. I STFU after that, went out and bought every album and don't criticize bands I'm not familiar with anymore 😂😂
I never used to like heavy metal, but Gojira and Mastodon have converted me. Opeth is also good.

I am French and i have more trouble understanding Mario speaking English with his French accent than the interviewer xD ... Great interview though, really looking forward to get the album !

That's interesting. I'm from the US and I think his English is perfect even though he says his English is shit. He sounds like he's comfortable speaking English.
I'm Irish and I have no issues with his accent whatsoever. In fact, I think he speaks very clearly and confidently.

That's weird i'm from Québec and I felt just like my french cousin but Mario's english is good we just hear the french accent ;)
my favourite football club is Arsenal which have a history with French players giving interviews all the time so I too am used to the accent haha
I don't think I've ever been as excited about an imminent album release as I am about this one. Awesome band in every sense.

Interesting that Mario's French accent is so much more pronounced than his brother's. I imagine Joe has spent a much longer time in the States than he has.

A lot of people just hear metal vocals and automatically decide the folks who make and listen to metal must be a bunch of meatheads with anger issues, but if you actually get to know them they're some of the nicest guys and gals around

They are real musicians and real artists, touring all over France from early 2000s, I remember seeing their name, never went though😅 but now I really really appreciate their music and I hope we can go see them live again soon 👍👍

God I will not stay sane the day that I lose my mother. Forget about it! :( My life will come unraveling, and will never be OK again. Yes, I am am a Mama's girl and proud of it!
I realize this may sound cliché, but I lost my mother a few months before this album came out and a couple of the tracks on it (namely the Shooting Star) helped me channel a lot of the pain I was going through. And when I think of her and feel sad, I just put on this album and it helps me cope.
