Le journaliste de Quotidien était réquisitionné pour suivre Gojira aux Grammys. Ces derniers étaient en effet doublement nommés pour le meilleur album rock de l'année et meilleure performance métal de l'année.
The journalist of Quotidien (French TV) was requisitioned to follow Gojira at the Grammys. They were dubbly nominated for the best rock album of the year and best metal performance of the year.

you could say the same thing for them playing ACDC when cage the elephant won, they just played a mega popular song from the genre that the award was in. Master of Puppets is considered to be one of the most popular quintessential metal songs, and same with Back in Black with rock music

The Philosopher - Could be. Definitely in the top 3. Hands down, the most inspired, though - from what I Can See.
The guy at the end was right. You must see Gojira live. Album versions or live videos do not do them justice. Their massive sound takes over the venues like a storm. It's an experience. I remember them opening for In Flames back around 2009 and they absolutely stole the show. They are a tough act to follow. I've seen them about 5 times since and it never gets old.
Robert Messenger (Sorry for my english, I'm french) What this guy saying is very important, in France, metal isnt popular at all, this TV show is the only place that talk about it, such a shame because we have a great metal community. For example, we have in France the Victory of the music which is like the french grammys with only french artists and we never see a metal band in this ceremony. The guy at the end is a pop artist very popular in France: "Vianney" and I wish other artists like him begin to promote the metal scene

True. I finally got to see them live yesterday for the first time, and I loved Gojira before alright, but now I just feel smitten! Their playing time just went so fast and the crowd was begging them to stay and play more. I am planning to go to see them in my home country too during the summer if I can manage.

Gojira is awesome. Joe and Mario are so funny and don't try to act self important like so many moronic bands and music 'stars' we have here. Gojira's Magma was the best album of the year...I can't wait for their tour in May.

Je pense que c'est surtout un jeu et pas en mal : Si les gens s’arrête à " les metalleuh c'est que des gros beauf qui montrent leur cul..." Bah ils ne méritent pas d'entrer dans notre "monde". C'est pour ça qu'on arborent des looks "inquiétants" pour beaucoup, alors qu'on sait tous qu'on est pas si méchant que ça !
Pour vraiment apprécier le métal et toutes ces différences dans tout les niveaux faut un minimum d'ouverture d'esprit.

@@ericpons7953 j'ai envie de dire que le côté "look a part" n'est même pas un critère. J'écoute du métal tous les jours, adore découvrir des nouveaux groupes, j'ai une bonne connaissance du genre, je joue même dans 2 groupes de metal (hard rock à tendance groove metal et death/sludge), pourtant dans la rue je ne fais absolument pas metal x)

they should've won both of those awards for who they were up against. I have respect for the other bands I just know Gojiras sound quality and live performance is better all the way around. But congrats on the nomination($)

L'équipe du Quotidien (anciennement Le Petit Journal) ont toujours été l'émission parmi les "média traditionnel" qui soutien le plus la scène metal en france, ils étaient tout les ans au Hellfest.. Ça m'étonne pas les 3 reportage a la suite du coup étant donné qu'aucun (ou presque) autre média n'as relevé le fait que des français soit nominé (Mais par contre Daft punk qui va faire mumuse sur scène ils en parle ça :') )
franchement je suis pas fan de métal mais grâce à quotidien j'ai découvert Gojira et c'est pas pour me déplaire! et même la plupart des groupes qu'ils font passer sur leur scène sont souvent de bonnes surprises

If anything its nice that the nomination helped spread your music to people who otherwise might never have heard of you, but unfortunately grammy awards aren't usually given based on merit. Who needs it? Music, to me, is a part of life, not a once a year event. Your music to me is one of the most cathartic experiences I've ever had; I cant help but feel a sense of immense joy that surpasses the anger, frustration, and depression. I saw you in LA a few months ago, and I still think of that concert. Can't wait to catch you guys again. There are no prima donnas in this band. They are humble and funny and real. The music is off the freakin' charts. Metal heads LOVE Gojira. Mainstream Grammy Awards have no clue really. Most of them have never heard one note of their music. I'm surprised and pleased that someone listened to this album. It was the first one I bought and I love it. Got it on my 61st birthday from my son. Both are big fans also. They got me hooked on them and now I listen to everything they do. They lost (on y perdu! lol) but the fans know they won. They are still the best metal band in the universe and Metallica is so mainstream. Talented but it's like Grammy picked the one they knew best and I totally disagree with Cage the Elephant even being in that category. Not heavy enough.

I almost think this was a better outcome - a "Blessing in disguise", if you will. Had they won the Grammy, deterrers would have taken the win as confirmation that the band has "sold out". This way, the band gets the recognition they so thoroughly deserve, without the negativity attached to commercial success. I love this band, and this video gave an amazing insight into what humble, funny and down to earth dudes these guys really are.
