- Just like how athletes may have superstitions and warm-up routines that help them get "in the zone," so do musicians in order to perform onstage to their best of their abilities. Usually such practices are not made public, but during their appearance at Bonnaroo 2019, Gojira let Revolver peek behind the curtains to see how they prep for a show. Watch as frontman Joe Duplantier explains each member's individual rituals as well as the progressive metal group's collective ritual. "We want to create a healing energy, we want to spread love and happiness to people through metal," he says. In order to give that vibe and recycle negativity into something positive, "it requires presence from us." See how Gojira get into the right head space to take the stage and give their all.

I saw them in Portugal this summer. Hands down, one of the best concerts I've been in my life. They know how to make a memorable show and I really recommend anyone to go see one of their concerts if you can... I hope I can see them live once again!! ❤️

Let’s not forget Slayer...or Ghosr...or Behemoth. The darker satanic metal, which I can’t stand, unfortunately creates a bad rap for all metal. So, IMO, bands like these really do a disservice to metal.
Gojira's performances always give me goosebumps even on this short documentary video.

Oh they sure damn have. To me, listening to Gojira brings about a special energy, their music gives me this inner calm that nothing has ever given me. It is therapeutic.
And that was just at Bonnaroo, imagine how pumped they get for a metal festival!
Id rather go to bonnaroo ,cause the people seem to really dig the music and have fun ( no cell ohones btw), most metal fests are people just sitting there nowadays with a pit here and there
as surprising as it may be, there is no difference between playing to a 3 person crowd and a sold out fest.
the anxiety is there all the time, so the rituals really dont scale with the crowd size.

When i saw Gojira in Viveiro, Galicia, i can testify that they have the power to create really big positive atmosphere that cures, was like everyone in the concert, band, public and around we re connected by the "same" feeling, for me was one of the best days of my life because i live all year in a little village that nobody listens to metal, and going to Gojira concert was like for 1 day in all the year i can be with more people that shares similar musical taste and that was very reconciling. Great Gojira! De puta madre!! I want to see them again.
