It's a great time to be on the market for a new camera when even the budget options are quite good in general. Now if only I was able to try more cameras, that would be dope.
Amazing review, your channel deserves way more subs!
Appreciate the video man, can't wait to use the zv-e10
Thx a lot! Helped me well. I will go with VZ e10
Great review!! I'm leaning towards A6400
You rock dude. Thanks for the video
really great video! exactly what I was looking for
Glad to hear that! Thanks for watching!
Great video man. I own a Sony a6500. Honestly kinda want to buy a Sony ZV-E10 just for video. My first camera ever was a Panasonic Lumix G7 WHICH HAD A FLIP OUT SCREEN HAHA. I miss that flip out screen so much. Plus, it would be a nice backup camera to have when I choose to shoot weddings in the future.
Clear explanation. Good video. Thank you
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
This is really helpful... I've been thinking getting zve10 but my frend recommend me a6400
Its a modern-ish a6400. The gyro data means its now GyroFlow capable.... making it a very powerful cheap 4k camera to throw around on an FPV drone or even for photogrammetry.
Man, I'm so stuck between the two. Main reasons I'm even considering the 6400 over the zve10 are the same as yours...ergonomics, weather sealing, and I'm back and forth about needing an evf. This is tough lol. I'm definitely going to be doing photos and videos. Probably more on videos. That's why I got the zve10 but man the look of the 6400 looks so pleasing especially it being more durable. Idk if I'm a big fan of the plastic feeling on the zve10, you know. Again, this is tough lol.
How did you decide?:) I’m in the same situation!
@@Noah0510 I ended up returning the zve10 and going for the 6400 but eventually went to a full frame lol but I just didn’t like how the zve10 felt like a toy😅 that’s just me tho
Evf is a must
Good job. Camera without evf is like a huge glorified smartphone.
I got the zv e10☺️
Thank you for this information
as a 6400 user who do content on tik tok i think Zve10 is enough especially on product showcase.. but if you want something robust, manly ,a traditional camera then go for 6400. i think Zve10 is more to blogger with image stabilization and connectivity..
great video review !!
I have the ZV-E10. I LOVE Product Showcase. I HATE no EVF. It is a good camera, but not a great camera. Ultimately I prefer using the Lumix G9 or GH5 M2. I find the stabilization on the Panasonic cameras more useful than anything on the ZV-E10. However, there are times when Product Showcase is absolutely brilliant. It is only Proximity Focus Priority, but having used it, it needs to be added to the mode dial of every camera. It is that valuable.
I really like the ZV-E10, but on the ZV-E10, Sony removed “ISO AUTO Min. SS”. As a photographer, I had to get the 6400 in the end.
I am leaning toward the A6400 because ergonomically, it feels much better in my hands. They are both worthy cameras!
Completely agree. The a6400 is definitely much more comfortable to hold thanks to its larger grip.
And another feature that I feel is everyone gives to us automatically is to Showcase feature which in reality is just you using a 6400 and a lens with good shallow field and your just changing the focus. I feel like features on the z10 is super easy mode lol. But fun camera none the less
This video was so incredibly helpful. I’m getting a camera specifically for filming videos so I was planning to get the 6400, but this changed my mind. AND ITS CHEAPERRR.
Hi, currently I'm torn between these two cameras. I intend to use them as work cameras for taking simple event coverage photos, as well as photos of food and shopping mall stores. As for video, I mainly need it for TikTok and Instagram Reels. Considering this information, could you please recommend which one you would suggest?
With that amount of photography, I'd take the a6400. That's mainly because I use the viewfinder a lot. Depending on the video stuff you do, if there's a lot of moving the camera, I'd also invest in a gimbal.
Zve-10 Talley light. Flip
Screen. Electronic stabilization.
I’m yet to handle the ZV-E10 with the Smallrig grip, but it’s definitely very uncomfortable without it. The A6400 is good to go out of the box.
Great review
Can you add a battery grip for the zv e10 ?
You can easily fix ergonomics on zve-10 with the smallrig cage
Torn between the two. I love the features the zve10 has but the body build doesn't seem as sturdy or weather sealed as the 6400. How important is weather sealing if I want to use the zve10 for travel
Smallrig sells cam cages which would give ZV E10 protection
Good comparison, thanks for this!
I just bought the ZV-E10 along with the small rig cage to increase the size of the grip. I shot mainly pictures with my Nikon D5600 but want to shoot video, and the Nikon doesn't cut it. The pictures on the Sony are fantastic, but i find myself moving the camera to my eye. It's quite annoying!
Why make a comparison video and not show footage from each camera?
Hi mate great video, I have a question.
I’m looking to get into car photography and videography, and what I’ve gathered from this video is that the A6400 is better for photos and the ZV E10 is better for videos, but which is better for both?
If photos are going to be a big part of it as well, I would probably go with the a6400 and a gimbal myself.
An EVF is such a big deal for me when shooting photos but the lack of any stabilization becomes an issue when shooting big subjects like cars.
Then again, that is a big investment all put together if you're just getting started, so the answer depends on your budget really.
Of course you can get the a6400 and you can start practicing shooting techniques and just accept that the footage is going to be shaky until you get a gimbal.
Get the newly launched a6700
Nice video n I got a question. As a beginner, what camera is best for videoing a soccer match n making specific player highlights??
Out of those two? The ZV-E10 is definitely the better video camera. So I'd say that.
Hello! I bought the Sony 6400 , which lenses do you recommend for this cámara for beginner thank u
Inbuilt flash missing in zv e10
Is zv e 10 supports ext flash ??
I am thinking ZV-E10, be a step up from a HX90V I have
Hi, great video! I’ve been recording on my iPhone for a while creating cinematic videos and want to upgrade. Just want your personal opinion on what camera you would recommend for cinematography?
Out of these two? If it's mainly for video usage, definitely the ZV-E10.
@@villerasku Thanks! Would you be able to recommend any other camera below the £1,500 mark for cinematography videos? Appreciate the advice!
Like better for movie (RUclips creations) ZV-E10 in white, also I have RODE microphones in white... all working perfectly well and 16 mm 1,4 Sigma lens on top.
Ohh white camera gear looks so good. That's a fantastic setup!
Great videos, Is 6400 better for filmaking? Like for a budget movie trailer?
The Zve10 is the superior video option
For someone on a very tight budget I think the zve10 is amazing.
Completely agree!

I’m the exact same boat 😂😂
I'm doing short film and cinematic video. Which one is better?
Hello, planning to get 1 this month.
I’m into cinematography/short film what camera would u recommend. Thank you. More power 💖
For video forward usage like that, I would definitely recommend the ZV-E10. Pair it with a nice lens and you can get fantastic video quality for the price!
Had both cameras sold the A6400. I never used the view finder, I like the showcase mode ZVE10 has better microphone, does not really need an external microphone, while the a6400 is useless without a microphone but it's also useless with a microphone as it blocks the screen. I use the ZV E10 without a microphone when out and about and with in a studio situation.
That's completely valid. The ZV-E10 is obviously the better camera for what you use it for. For me on the other hand, the ZV's drawbacks in my use outweigh it's advantages.
That's why it's a great example of different priorities and use-cases = different idea of which is the "better camera".
It's like 15 bucks to unblock the screen on the a6400 :(
@@SoggyKatnip Not sure what you mean, Where do you locate the hot shoe to and who does this modification? I doubt they redo the whole hotshot or relocate the screen for $15.
@@MikesManCave you can get a frame or a hot shoe extender for 15. Not ideal, but cheap and functional.
@@SoggyKatnip You may get a cold shoe, which is no good for integrated microphones that run straight off the hot shoe like the Sony microphones. So your genuine Sony Microphone will not work unless you use a cable which defeats the purpose. Then you have to add stuff to your camera making a compact camera not compact any more. You can use the ZVE10 out of the box without issues as it already has a great microphone unlike the A6400 which has a terrible microphone. And if you want to run a microphone your Sony microphone will slip straight into your hot shoe and work without cables, plugs or adaptors.
bought zv e10. very happy
Excellent
What would you recommend for an all around camera between $700 to $1500? Or top 3 cameras... That has a microphone and headphone jack. Thanks
Well, usually cameras in that price range have a drawback in some shape or form. So, before I'd give you a top 3, what are you looking to do with the camera? Mostly video? Mostly photos? If you do video, do you need stabilization? If you do photos, do you need good burst capabilities?
Just a bit more info will allow me to give better recommendations.
@@villerasku mostly video.. With stabilization...I don't see using burst mode... And thank you for the help.
@@MrNewlife1968 If it's mostly video, 1500 would get you a ZV-E10 and a fantastic lens. Since that has stabilization and catalyst browse support for even further stabilization.
Or another way to go could be the body for 700ish, one of the Sigma lenses for 400ish and a gimbal for 400ish.
Or if you just want to focus on a camera, the Canon R10 should be around that budget. A lens will put you over that though but the photography experience is much better.
@@MrNewlife1968 you looking for a video Centric camera just to fx30 sewing $1,500
Agreed - even tho i self shoot, I need a view finder. I bought the Zve10 because I live stream for work. But to shoot with - I tried to go shoot flowers and no way - I could t see shit thru the screen. So returned it and will go back to my old a6400
Can the a6400 also be used for livestream like the ZV-E10 without using OBS or a capture card?
Unfortunately no, since it only has a micro-usb port. Because of that, you need something like a camlink or some other capture card.
@@villerasku I've seen some youtube videos where they use Sony's Image Edge software to use their sony camera as a webcam without having to use OBS or a capture card. Have you tried this?
Appreciate the super quick reply to my comment btw! 🔥
@@NicoNg Haven't tested it myself but I got a feeling that the framerate isn't going to be great. I'll give it a test later tonight and let you know how it goes. Deal?
@@NicoNg Just tested it out and I did get it working. I mean, you might need OBS for the streaming part, but you can get decent framerate from just plugging it in with the cable and running imaging edge!
@@villerasku You're so awesome man! Really appreciate you taking the time to test this out. Yeah I'll probably use OBS for streaming, but it's nice to know that you can get it working without OBS or capture card if it'll just be for video calls. Thanks again for testing it out! You can make a YT video about this in case there are others who want to know how to use it for streaming w/o OBS. 😁
Hello, i would like to ask what is the best for me. I have a M50 canon for photography and videography but i need a camera mainly for videography. I will pair the camera with a rs3 mini gimbal and monitor and almost a whole rig for video. I shoot a lot of motorsports. Which one is the best pick? I will buy a camera tomorrow, i hope you can help me.
Im looking on these camera's
Sony zve10
Sony a6400
Canon r10
Canon r50
Wow. I’m in this exactly same situation right now. Which one you finally picked? Is it good for videography?
super thanks
I am torn between the two. I need one for filming dance choreography and kids doing educational stuff, but everything will be filmed on a tripad so no run and gun for me. Which one should I get then?
If your focus is mainly on video, the ZV-E10 is the better one to get. It's better to have the more extensive video features if you want to do something with them later than not have them at all.
The only situation where I recommend the a6400 now is if your main focus is photography.
@@villerasku awesome! I will get that one. Any lens you will recommend for those videos?
@@rytmigo The Sigma Sony-E lenses are great value since they're fantastic quality while not breaking the bank.
If you want to be equipped for a wider variety of situations and distances, the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 is a great option and I've got a review of that lens on my channel if you want to check it out.
But it really comes down to what focal length you need.

For both photos and videos 6400 😊
hi which one is better for streaming in twitch? i know this might sounds silly since people would say use a webcam. but i want best quality. for streaming on twitch
Out of these two options? The ZV-E10 is the one you want to go for.
With the a6400, you would be sacrificing things that you want as a streamer in exchange for things that you have no use for.
@@villerasku thank You! The reason i ask is because i saw several streamers with A6000 so i thought A6400 would be better.
I struggle so hard between these 2 cameras :( I mainly want to photograph things.. so yeah the a6400 is better. Its weather sealed.
But the ZVe10 have a flip out and tilt screen /: does both camera have Eye tracking and so ? (Humans and Animals)
Both do have eye af for both humans and animals. I understand the struggle and while I have missed the flippy screen every now and then, for the most part I'd continue to pick the a6400 over the ZV-E10 for photography focused shooting.
@@villerasku oh nice..
mhm..then its the main thing for me the screen for the E10 and wather sealed fpr the 6400 .. xD
I think i will wait for a sale, then I will decide.. cause in germany the price different is 200-250 Euro
@@Psyko_Blood watch more video on ZVE-10 you will be blown away, i too been struggling
Hi, nice video.
I am a beginner photographer. Would mostly do photography and some videography/vloging as well.
1. Wanted to know if not having an evf really a big deal?
2. Is LCD screen on Z V e-10 good enough to see in bright sunlight?
Also how is the overall quality of screen?
3. How is the screen quality compared to a6400?
4. How different is the rolling shutter compared to a6400 since both use the same sensor and processor?
I haven't used any camera before, just the phone. So not sure how much I'll need the evf. But saw many posts of not having evf sucks !! hence the question.
Sorry for the long question. But couldn't find better way to put it. (English not being the first language)
No problems at all and thanks for the kind words. Let me try to get these answered.
1. Having an evf makes shooting a lot easier in many situations. Such as having a level built in so you can make sure your shots are properly straight as well as being a lot easier to see in direct sunlight.
On top of that, as you hold the camera to your eye, that is another point of contact, giving you more stability in your shooting.
2. You can make it work in sunlight, but depending on the brightness and direction of sunlight, you may have a hard time.
3. The screens are pretty much identical between the cameras if you don't count the rotation capabilities.
4. The rolling shutter performance is equally rough between both of the cameras.
Hope this answered your questions. I've been there myself so if you have any more questions, I'll be happy to help to the best of my abilities.
@@villerasku thanks that really helped me get the info!
What did you end up getting?
@@neerajbute2094 what did you end up buying?
Hey man. I do both photography and videographgy. What would you recommend for this?
A6400 has not typeC port!
Great video. But there are local issues.
1. Prices for ZV-E10 and A6400 have been temporarily reduced in Russia. (ZV-E10: 64500 and A6400: 72500) Is it worth taking them now, or is it better to wait for the end of the war in Ukraine and the lifting of sanctions?
2. Is it possible to install a light film on them to reflect sunlight?
3. Is it worth taking them second-hand if the difference between new and used is less than 5000 rubles?
Hello man. If you think anyone here know what "rubles" is mean then you are wrong...
And yes, I think sanctions is at least for length of your life. So better escape soon as you can.
@@alexgoriatchenkov Ha ha you’re funny
hey man did u buy a camera , or are u still waiting . if yes , which one did you buy ?
So the zv e10 is about the same price as here in Europa, white the a6400 Costa about 150€ less than over here. 5000 Rubel less for a used one is not enough, if I would be you I would go for the a6400, it Sound like the best deal
4. do not be cowards, go outside, and try to stop the war and then buy a camera with better price
i honestly can’t decide between the two haha! maybe you can help!?? haha. i want a camera to take great pics of clothing and hats. but i also want to shoot music videos
Well, the ZV-E10 takes fantastic pictures, you just need to solely on the screen. If you're shooting clothing and its happening indoors, then I would go with the ZV-E10 since it will definitely be better for the music videos.
What about the electronic shutter, photos and LED light? Is it an issue?
Can you elaborate? I'm not really grasping on what issue you're referring to.
@@villerasku Im sorry, I was misinformed. I thought the ZVE10 would have only a electronic shutter. If you shoot indoor with ES you often get banding/flickering effects. But since the ZVE10 has also a mechanical shutter, this isnt an issue.
Which will be a better option - ZVE10 or A6400?
I am looking forward to buy my first camera...not into vlogging that much....but I love to click photos...so will the ZVE10 be a good option for me??
So are you looking for a camera mainly for photography? In that case I would recommend getting a camera with an Electronic Viewfinder (EVF), since it makes taking photos in bright environments easier as well as allows you to keep your camera more steady. The ZV-E10 doesn't have an EVF, but it can still take photos. You just have to use the screen at all times which can introduce problems. Ultimately, that's why I wen't for the a6400, but the Canon R50 is definitely worth taking a look at as well.
@@villerasku how about for live streaming ? It will be good with a6400 or zv e10
@@noorzukrina6572 If you're going to be using it just for live streaming, the ZV-E10 is definitely the better choice. It's cheaper and it has better video features than the a6400. Pair with something like the Sigma 16mm f1.8(?) and you'll have fantastic stream quality.
Would you say a6400 is far from the zv e 10 on the actuality quality of video, accessibility of good video features? I am in a position where I can get a a6400 for almost 30% cheaper then the cheapest zv e 10. I will be doing mostly videos, podcasts, but definitely some photography too. Do you think I would be okay getting the 6400?
You'll be great with the 6400 especially for that much cheaper. It'll be much more comfortable for photos and it does fantastic video.
The biggest differences in the video recording is the complete lack of stabilization options and no product showcase mode (which is handy to have but not a "camera seller")
The tilt-up screen can be worked around if you need to see yourself when recording.
good
Zv-e10 it is
If the difference between them is 223 will that make a6400 Better value or still zv e10 is great
223 what? Dollars? Entirely dependent on your use-case.
Basically, if you're focusing on photography, I think the a6400 is worth the price difference simply due to having an EVF and weather sealing.
If you don't mind not having those, the ZV-E10 is the go-to.
@@villerasku yes dollars i bought a6400 i need it for both but photography is my priority and view finder helps a lot in sunlight if i haven't seen your video i would have bought zve10 because many other youtube videos made me think zve10 is the best value product here which is true but all of them speaks from the point of videography your video made me rethink a6400 was my first choice but many video made me think I should buy zve10 i forgot my purpose and is it safe to use 3rd party battery or should I buy stock battery and also what is ael 😅 trash button doesn't give info on that in any where else

Have you used catalyst browse? Absolute junk for real videography in my opinion. I like my a6400 but so many irritating qualities… micro-usb? No firmware updates via Mac OS 11+? Sony is slipping. I moved away from Canon for irritating things like this, now I’m looking for my next move.
Haven't used it myself as I don't have a camera that supports it, but I've seen it used and am aware of the limitations that it comes with. Don't know what you mean with "real videography", but getting stabilized footage on a 700$ camera by just handholding it and running it through a bit of software is undeniably useful.
And the micro-usb isn't great, but then again usb-c didn't really come into the sub 1k$ cameras until last year, aside from Fuji and Olympus with them bringing it around 2020.
The mac update issue sucks, I'll give you that.
@@villerasku I don’t find it much better than running through AE… no matter what, walking or running you’re going to end up with jerky footage. There is no replacement for proper hardware. I may be a little bitter - I tried to rely on it for the first time on a night shoot a few weeks ago where I was forced to drop down the 1/30 shutter speed and the results are completely unusable. Lesson learned - I don’t leave without my gimbal in my car anymore.
@@modlife Yeah that's where some of those limitations come into play. The times I've seen it used was on decently- to well lit situations and the results were fantastic. But the shutter speeds it works with are limited :/
