    I've watched so many reviews and comparisons, but you nailed it with "the A6400 is for shooting others and the ZV E10 is for shooting yourself." So simple and concise, but there is so much behind that statement.

      @@PurposedLensPhotoMedia I ended up going with the ZV-E10. I’m a backpacker and the slightly smaller and lighter camera with faster controls seemed beneficial. I would just be filming myself and taking landscape picture.

    Great video brother. I have watched 3 videos comparing these cameras and this video put it in such a way that I am confidently moving forward with the ZV E10.
    Couple things:
    1. Loved the intro - I felt like you were talking straight to me and it calmed me down (its stressful buying expensive things and not knowing which is the best for you).
    2. Loved your overall demeanor - Calm and professional. I felt your personality and vibe shine through.
    3. I value that you gave a confidant answer on who would benefit from either. Many people become paralyzed by being afraid they will make the wrong choice, so your feedback was simple and helps us make up our minds.
    Thanks again brother, you are gonna be big.

    I want to let you know that I have looked at more reviews for these two cameras and I can count. This was by far the most practical one. The experience in the work that you've done shows in the way you explain the differences of this camera. Not one other person has been able to explain the differences in the way that you have and I can only assume that that is because of your background with the work itself. Thank you for this fantastic review!

    Awesome video as always. I think what I like most about your videos is the fact that you give a real opinion. You put yourself out there, and choose a direction, instead of just saying, "but it's really just up to you." I think people always know it's up to them, but I also think it's helpful when you lay out the reasons for deciding to go in a certain direction, and then boldly stating, "so this is clearly the way to go." I think there's much more value to a video like that, and I think that's what most people are actually looking for. People are always going to ultimately do what they want to do, but a strong opinion, and clear reasons leading up to that opinion, are really valuable.

    I went with the ZV-E10 and am loving it. When I first got it I felt like the stabilization was pretty bad, especially coming from taking video with an iPhone, but somehow after using it for a couple of weeks my results look way better even before doing anything in catalyst. Not sure how that happened, guess I just got better at holding the camera. I’d say I’m to the point now that my videos with zero stabilization look about as good as they did on day one with active stabilization turned on. And catalyst does an amazing job with the footage. Only thing I don’t like about it is having to crank up the shutter speed…especially since I’m still on the kit lens and sometimes really need that extra light going down to 24p @ 1/50. That’s the one thing that still has me looking at gimbals. But all in all, I really am digging the ZV-E10. Coming from the OG RX100, it feels pretty liberating to be able to start getting nice lenses for different types of photography.

      @@dr.s5688 for me it has been amazing. I added the Sony 35mm 1.8 lens to my gear and have gotten a lot of great shots with it as well as the kit lens. Some photo oriented reviewers have mentioned they have a big issue with the camera not having a viewfinder and I see their point…sometimes in the bright outdoors it’s hard to really gauge the exposure etc but I just click away and haven’t had any issues I couldn’t make look good in post. Your comment came at the perfect time, I just went to a weeding last weekend and took the camera with us to get a bunch of shots of us dressed up and having a good time and they came out amazing. Very happy with it.

    Enjoying your informative information, thanks.
    I’m a Nikon fanboy of many years standing , shooting both FF and aspc, going back to 35 mm film days and developing and printing my efforts. I live in the Philippines now where the indigenous citizens actually embrace being photographed. I need to remain unobtrusive though, needed a small piece of equipment that would allow me to remain largely anonymous..I have a Nikon Z50 but it’s too bulky to fit those requirements..enter the Sony ZV-E10 cw a 10-20 mm f4 , what a revelation. I don’t vlog I’m just a still shooter , so I just work around the lack of an EVF no problem. The 16-50 variable lens that came with the Sony is so sweet to use. Got the 35mm prime also.
    I find your manner of delivery so easy to take in and listen to. Nice pace of articulation too.
    I mainly shoot monochrome being inspired by Daido Moriyama .
    Thanks again.

    Very clear presentation. Very nice content. I am still on the fence on which one to get.
    I like the evf, body, and controls of the A6400 as I have used Canon 550D from the past. But I like swivel LCD, gyro data, and other easy functions on the ZV E10.
    I won't be doing professional work, just for family casual shooting and I am the "default" photographer in our family. If only the ZV E10 has an evf, it would be an easy decision for me. Currently leaning towards ZV E10 at the moment as it is still much cheaper than A6400.

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  Год назад +1

      Those are all valid points! I will say that the good thing about the ZV-E10 is it's resale value! If you were to pick one up and didn't like it, you could always sell it and use that money towards the A6400.
      Since the lenses are the same, you could keep the lenses!
      I hope this helps.

But , I wanted to start taking shots on my camera as well as other things pertaining videography. I thought about upgrading to a full frame or the zv10 to get that much more cleaner and crisper look but I don’t know. I think I might stay with the a6400 and get the sigma 16mm. What you think ?

      Since RUclips is hard work, the key 🔑 is to keep your camera 🎥 setup as simple and easy as possible!
      I like the smaller APS-C cameras for hand holding while vlogging!
      If you have the A6400 just keep it and get the Sigma 16mm 1.4 or the Rokinon 12mm 2.0 AF.

    So, with 65-70% of my future camera work being video podcasts, I believe your recommendation would be the ZVE10. However, there are three things that I currently see as currently see as cons, the plastic feel, the size and number EVF. I have big hands and the tiny camera and plastic feel reminds me of a toy and cheap. And then no evf , is framing pictures difficult with the poor quality screen Sony provides, especially in full sun? Thoughts or input? Are those “cons” worth considering the 6400?

    The look you have on this video is exactly what I am looking for in a new camera. I only do video, basically I build computers part time, so I just want a camera that can give that same look you are going for here and showcase the computer's interiors once they are finish so I imagine for that low light is important. Which camera do you use if you don't mind me asking?

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  2 года назад +2

      I primarily use the Sony A6400.
      The key to getting good low light shots is lighting!
      Many people think that low “performance” means shooting with almost no light but it just means shaping and controlling your light so that things are properly exposed.
      With that being said, you should be able to achieve this same look with the A6400 and good lens like the Sigma 16mm 1.4!

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia

      It's really hard to say what will be a problem and what won't be.
      If you will be indoors PRIMARILY, I don't foresee getting the ZV-E10 being a problem. The biggest issue with the ZV-E10 outdoors is being able to see the screen in VERY bright sunlight!

      If you reference the clip from "00:42 - 1:02" I lay out what the intentions of the video are and what to expect from the video. This video is not a video telling you why you shouldn't buy one camera over the other.
      This is simply a video that highlights the BIG differences in the cameras. I have done over 15 videos on the ZV E10 and I would encourage you to watch some of the other videos so that you will get a well rounded view of what the camera is capable of and what it's weak points are.
      There are also many other RUclips vides on the topic as well.
      If you're not sure what you will be shooting or how you will be using your camera, THIS is the MOST important part to figure out first.

    I have 2 a6400 cameras for A-roll and B-roll for RUclips videos. My first plan was to get a Canon Powershot G7x Mk. II or Mk. III for occasional overhead shots but want to go all Sony now. Should I get a Sony ZV-1 or a Sony ZV-E10?

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  3 года назад +1

      I would go with the ZV E10! You can change the lenses on this camera with means that ALL of your lenses that you already have you can use! ZV E10 all the way! I hope this helps! Thanks for supporting the channel! :)

    Stellar presentation again, thanks. May I ask a question?: If I get the ZV-E10 and the Sigma 16mm F/1.4, is there still any reason to get the kit lens? Does it do anything decently well that the Sigma does not? Or is it better to apply the $100 saved toward another lens maybe?

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  2 года назад +1

      One big advantage to having the kit lens is the ability to zoom. This can come in handy depending on the type things you are shooting like vlogs. As I mentioned in a another comment, you can also check out the Sony 18-105 F4. I would recommend this one over the kit lens. I hope this helps.

    Where I live this camera costs 132 dollars more than the A6000 with kit for just the body only? For stills and starting out on photography..which choice is better? Asking because A6000 is released in 2014 and ZV is new

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  2 года назад

      If you are doing mostly photography, I would go with the A6000 because it has a viewfinder. This will make a SIGNIFICANT improvement when taking photos!
      I hope this helps!

    Does this mean that the a6400 can work great when recording myself using a stable tripod?

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  Год назад

      Both cameras can be used to record yourself on a tripod however, the ZV E10 is going to be much easier due to the flip out screen and the red recording ring around the flip out screen. The key to choosing is to figure out how you will use the camera and will it stay with you as you grow?
      I hope this help!

    Nice content! Looking to buy either A7iv with Sigma 24-70 or ZVE10 with Sony 11 1.8 Sigma 16 and 56 1.4. Not sure which route to go. Price and weight scares me off a7iv. Rolling shutter scares me off the zve10 :) any suggestions? I mostly do video. But I do want photo capability too, so I'm getting the Godox AD200 with either one.

      I would say rent both and see which one you are able to work with. I can recommend cameras but ultimately, hands on with the camera shooting the type content you shoot will be the BEST way to get the best camera for your needs.

    I know Im late to the party. I ended up with the E10. Im a Canon stills guy for many years and none of my cameras shoot 4k (except for iPhone). My dad donated his NEX 7 and really enjoyed the small form factor, and the great image quality. Would. You say the E10 is still good for someone who is planning on 50/50 (VLOG/B Roll/Stills)? Altho one knock on the E10, this model is NOT compatible with M1 Macs. It cannot read ARW files.

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  Год назад

      The ZV E10 is a great camera for B-roll, vlogging and even some light professional work! This is provided the user knows the basic ins and outs of the camera and understands HOW to get what they are looking for out of the camera.
      The bottle-neck with this camera (more than likely) will be the user's ability! (This is the case with MOST modern cameras.)
      The M1 platform of MACs can in fact read raw files from the ZV E10. I view them all the time. This MAY have been an issue when M! was first introduced but this is no longer an issue.

    it's kind of ironic i bought the ZV-e10 kit because it was less than the a6400. But the grip was so tiny i ended up paying for a smallrig cage and a godox flash and it ended up being more than the a6400 😅

    yeah, first i wanna buy zv e10, but than i try sony a6400 dial, memory recall is my favorit,, i can switch to video setting as fast possible, when i need with slog and switch again to take picture with no slog profile.. for me who pay to take someone photo, i tihink sony a6400 is the best.. i hope i can upgrade to fullframe

      Overall I do like the A6400!
      I have gotten used to it!
      Full frame becomes to big and heavy for me really quickly when shooting for long periods of time.
      I found that I didn’t want to take it with me as much! 😔
