Great comparison! I've been using mine for a week. I really like it! I had the same conclusion. If you're using the camera for video more than for stills, I don't think it's even close. ZV-E10 by a mile. If your use is mainly stills and a little bit of video, that's when A6400 is better because being able to quickly change modes and shoot through the viewfinder is great. If it's close to 50-50... I think I'd still go with the ZV-E10 because it's so much cheaper, and then if you want to be more serious about stills, you can start saving toward a used A7 II, which will blow either camera away for stills. You covered most things, but I would also add that this camera can be used as a webcam without having to install any special drivers or software, and it has worked in every program I've tried so far. Output is only 720P, so for best resolution, you would use HDMI to CamLink 4K, but I think the 720P output from this camera looks subjectively better than 4K from any consumer webcam, and it'd be more than enough for most streamers. Showing up to work meetings on the ZV-E10 + Sigma 16mm f/1.4 (using the Clear Image Zoom to frame your image) feels really deluxe, but since I actually didn't have a webcam connected to my main desktop, this has meant that I can stop whipping out my laptop, iPad, or a CamLink to join work calls at my desk. Your earlier videos really helped me realize that it would be a camera I enjoy using, and so far, I have found plenty of negatives, but I've been able to work around all of them, and the thing is, A6400 has a lot of the same negatives, too, and at least the ZV-E10 is much cheaper, lighter, and portable, while being capable of marginally better output. I have zero regrets about my purchase.
Agree with your conclusion but also have additional comments. ZV-E10 is simplified for easy video making and it's main goal, but would be excellent for stills too if it had few more custom buttons/switches like ie. a6400. Sony has absolutely great and powerful customisation of camera operation for personal needs but it requires more custom buttons for advanced shooting setup. A6400 would be still great competitor to ZV-E10 on video if it had gyro sensor for post stabilization. IMO one more pain for ZV-E10 is that tilt screen makes handheld operation inconvenient when you want to support lens with your left hand + line of view offset and not fully open angle (few degree lack to allign to body when opened) makes operation sometimes a bit weird too.
This is some excellent and insightful stuff, thanks both and fully agree. The thing that drives me crazy with Sony is how close they get to something being ideal and then end up one or two compromises or weird decisions away. The stabilisation difference is the killer for my use. I love catalyst and active steadyshot at its very worst makes handheld video with the many great non stabilised lenses viable. Plus the lighter weight is more gimbal friendly so even taking a conservative view that’s a big advantage for me. The lack of buttons is probably the idea a vlogger audience wants things simple - which may be true - but I wish there were a few more for more experienced users or new people to grow into 😂 The zoom rocker and on off switch are straight out of the fx3 playbook and I wish we’d had 10% more fx3 and 10% less zv1/a6400 in the gene pool 😂
What a great comment. Very helpful. I was having a hard time deciding which one to get as my first camera. I was leaning heavily to the ZEV10 but the stabilization was a major drawback. Might as well get an A7II
I’ve been planning to buy a6400 but I’m in tight budget. So there goes, planning to buy the ZV E10. I like your videos and your reviews. Explained professionally. Been watching your videos in months now. Keep posting mate. Done subscribed
Thanks Richard, really glad the content was helpful and really appreciate you taking the time to share the nice feedback:) Fantastic to have you on board too - welcome and great to have you 👏😁
The gyroscopic data registry is fantastic on the ZV e10. Sony fixed everything wrong with the Alpha 6400 on the ZV e10. I hope they release the new Alpha 6400 soon. That will have metal build and all the new features
Dude! Loved, Loved, Loved the comparison and contrast. The cinematography and presentation was incredible! I learned some tips, especially the settings, thank you. But, I have to tell you, it’s Your Wit & Humor, that made me hit the “Subscribe” button! Here’s another thumbs up for you 👍🏾! Omg, that was a joy to watch! I am still ROFL 🤣. Kudos!
Ltakallen, thank you so much for sharing such nice feedback-it really is appreciated and really goes a long way to keep up motivation and enjoyment of making this stuff:) Truly appreciated 👏 Glad you liked the humour too - it’s always subjective but I can’t be anyone but the dork I am so o figure I may as well go for it 😂 Fantastic to have you on board - welcome and have an amazing day 👍💪
I love everything about the Sony ZVE10, but for some reason, I like the feel of the A6400 in hand a little better. I had both and sold A6400, but might get another just for stills.
for photography I gotta have the viewfinder, but since I have been recently diving into filmmaking and already have the classic a6000, I think I'm getting myself a ZVE10.
I made the mistake of selling my Sony a6400 and miss it. It's a beast for the amount of features you get. I'm picking up another one to go along with my Fuji XT5
Thanks for the video. I saw a guy use Final Cut Pro for stabilizing and the results were fantastic. He didn’t mention render time but I bet it’s faster than catalyst.
It's crazy how Catalyst seems to take not just the shakes but the warpy wobbles away. Does the Final Cut Pro stabilization do that? Do you recall where you saw that video? Thanks!
Hey Kumoito, I’d be interested in seeing the video and type of shot too. In my experience FC can do a great job on simple pans and tilts it not walking clogs or more complex movements. I’ve seen tons of weird corner wobble and nothing like as good as catalyst-which isn’t surprising given FC is trying to interpret frame data whereas catalyst has actual spatial data. It’s a while ago but I think there’s a brief FC comparison in either my old catalyst video: ruclips.net/video/O698QZRGI4E/видео.html or my old zv1 stabilisation vid: ruclips.net/video/Ty2FoHbDff8/видео.html Internet in my current spot is bandwidth capped so I can’t pop in and check but I’m sure it’s in one of them haha 😂 Cheers both and have a great weekend 👍
@@mbvglider It's in Japanese so i included the time of the samples. Parts with ”手ぶれ補正OFF+Final Cut Pro” are footage with FC stability on and other stability off.
Brilliant review. you caught a few things that other reviews completely missed. Also you described the active stab as a good option and explained the catalyst software well, which other reviews tended to ignore.
Exciting times ON and happy this one might help your thought process:) Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have an awesome weekend 👍
I went to my local Best Buy and played around with both cameras. I own a a5100 and looking to upgrade. -The 6400 feels solid in the hands, the viewfinder feels premium, and having more physical controls is much appreciated. Having to go into the menu system to change modes has always been annoying. -The ZVE10 felt a little bit too plastic for my taste, especially for a modern camera. The buttons feel cheaper when pushed in my opinion. I really did like the one button to blur the background...neat if you're pressed for time or just wanna experiment. USB C is great too. Ended up deciding on the a6400, mainly for the viewfinder and the premium, weather sealed, build quality. Found a certified refurbished unit at a very good price.
As someone who wants to start making sit down style YT videos, some streaming, and who doesn't want to use it as a picture camera, the ZV-e10 looks like the choice for me...
Hey DS, completely agree with that analysis, I think it’s a great choice for that use case. Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a great day 👍
The ZV-E10 is definitely cool and builds nicely on the ZV-1 platform [adding lens flexibility]. A no-brainer choice if you ONLY shoot video. However, I'm a hybrid shooter and will keep my 6400 for 3 reasons... 1) EVF essential to taking pics or outdoor video 2) flip-up screen better than flip-out for vlogging 3) 'bendy' pop-up flash great for bouncing light off wall or ceiling.
Some good insights there mem, thanks for sharing and mostly agree. For me I prefer flip out to flip up for vlogging as I often can’t see the settings at the bottom of the screen with flip up which drives me crazy haha 😂 The flash I’ve barely used so it’s cool to here the creative things you can do with it:) One day I’d love to spend more time on photography but between the day job and other commitments the biggest enemy is time 😂 Thanks for watching and sharing the great thoughts, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have an awesome day 👍
Dear Sir, Thank you for highlighting all these features, I want to purchase a camera for the 1st time in my life, I want to: 1. Record the long duration videos from story narrators for my research 2. Record some short films low budget and documentaries also need portrait mode in videos, can all this be possible in a way using the kit lens (18- 55 mm) for now?
Hello Mate! Great video, especially that im really hesitating on those two cameras... But i wanted to ask you (hopefully ill get an answer :D) is the ZVE10 good for photography too? Im a little bit 50 50 btw video and photos and most of the comparisons i see are about videos... So lets say i get a 18 / 50 sigma lens with a ZVE10, pictures can be as great as the A6400 right? Hope to read you soon! :)
Appreciate the nice feedback Mohammad:) The underlying sensor and such is essentially the same between cameras. The viewfinder and glad of the a6400 may give advantages to user experience for photography but the images themselves will be basically identical if conditions and settings are the same. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a great day 👍

Great video. What's your thoughts on the e10 not being weather sealed compared to the A6400 that is? Is that such an issue unless you filming in heavy rain downpours?
Really appreciate the kind words R&L:) I think your summary is right: unless you’re shooting in fairly heavy weather I don’t think there’s a huge difference. And personally I try to avoid really heavy rain etc even with weather sealers camera and lens setups unless I have a cover or enclosure. Hope that helps:) Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a great day 👍
@@dbvares8745 Yea rain is one thing, but I film quite a bit of my stuff off roading in the dirt and dust. So dust is probably my biggest concern. If it wasnt for that, the e10 would probably be in my bag. I just sold my A6400 so going for the A6600... although... I am really considering the A7C just to get into the FF game. So many choices... haha
Hey Ben, really appreciate you taking the time to share the nice feedback:) I’ve not heard any issues around streaming with the zv-e10. I don’t stream much so it could be I’m not aware but I think you’ll likely be fine given the camera has been built with streaming in mind as a major use case. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a great day 💪👏
Great, great video! Loved the humor as you give a thorough evaluation. I don't have much budget left ($700-900)and I am starting to work on my first documentary film and was thinking about a second camera for multiple angles during interviews. I already have a Canon m50 (which I got something else to start...Oh well.,...) Now I am trying to decide what would be a decent option that may be best for recording B-Roll, facial close up etc. I already have a drone and a gimbal and a lav system, and Zoom recorder. Was close to getting the a6400 on Ebay until I saw this video...now I am not so sure. Thoughts?
Hey Pastor, great Q. It always comes down to what your priorities are. If you're mainly recording static shots stabilisation won't be an issue so the ZV-E10 loses an advantage, however it's still cheaper (depending on second hand a640 pricing). If you need a viewfinder the a6400 is the way to go. Lens options are identical; AF is great on both but a shade more controllable and updated on the zv-e10 so that could be a reason to prefer it. I'd personally go zv-e10 for a video first use case but both have merits. Let me know what you decide! Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you like the content and have an awesome day!
@@dbvares8745 Thanks for the reply! I have subbed. After even further research I went a whole new direction and got a GH5 used on eBay. Super pleased so far. 😊
lol this guy. Apart from the obvious super great explanations, the deadpan jokes in between just got to me. You earn yourself a sub my guy. Hope you get big soon. Quality content!
Hey Martin, always good to hear from you mate:) Nice to see a friendly face when finding time to hit the video mines amid life is tough at times 😂 The a6400 is still more nutritious than any happy meal;) Plus it’s still a good bit of gear and maybe good for photography focussed people (I’m not one so can’t speculate 😂). Hope you’re doing well mate and having a great weekend 👏👍
another feature difference that might important to some is that a6400 has awb-lock, whereas zv e10 for some reason doesnt.. i mean, a6400, a6600, zv1, a7siii, a7c, a1, fx3, a7iv i think all have it, but zv e10 (released i think between fx3 and a7iv, somehow didnt get it. those are semi-professional or professional cameras (except zv1), and one would think professionals dont lock awb but set it manually, however zv e10 although supposedly more of a vlogging camera and thus maybe more needing a lock, doesnt have it.. annoying, as it is useful and sony probably wont implement it through firmware later on.
Great ideo with really good sense of humor haha! I was really about to go for the ZEV10 but the stabilization is a big drawback. I might as well get an A7ii
Hey Gyanbrota, sorry for the delayed reply. I did actually follow your suggestion though and make that comparison in case you didn’t see: ruclips.net/video/KAPujYUx87g/видео.html Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a great day 👍
Hmm, so for image quality they are pretty much identical? I've been using the A6400 ever since it came out in 2019 and have loved it. I also own the ZV-1 and have always wanted a compact APSC camera. I'm though if the dynamic range would be any better in the A6400? Or are they the same since the sensors are identical?
Hey Yoyo, I think you're right - it's very hard to tel any difference in image quality, which makes sense given the shared sensor. I spotted some very minor differences in low light which are covered here: ruclips.net/video/9oC3AFpuKPE/видео.html Hope that helps! Hi I need some help in choosing my first camera! I'm a (broke) university student majoring in digital media studies. I've been interested in making videos and (hopefully) short films. The only camera I've ever used was my sister's Canon M10 (but only to take photos). Now that I want to focus on filmmaking (for assignments and in the future), I'm looking to invest in a camera that suits my needs. I hope to find one that I can use to capture cinematic shots but also still within my budget (around $1000 is the max). I've been contemplating on whether I should get the a6400, ZV E10, or maybe a different model. I'm not sure if the a6400 is too expensive for what it offers or if the ZV E10 is too bear (I should invest a bit more for more features/capabilities) I even thought about checking out Lumix G85 because of the stabilization and overall more affordable, but I couldn't find the resolution I was hoping for. I'm looking for suggestions please, thank you!!
Hey Althea, if value and a good selection of features are the priority I’d say the zve10 is likely better than a6400 (based on uk pricing). You might also consider the zv1 for a nice simple all in one solution. This vid might be useful: ruclips.net/video/s1maRhh3_Jw/видео.html Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a great day 👏
@@dbvares8745 Thank you! Would you say the features in zve10 are good enough for cinematic shots (or to make short films)? I'm aware that most people take this as a vlogging camera, which makes me question whether I can use this for more than just casual video making. I wonder if I should get something like this or maybe wait a little and save more on another kind that's worth more (quality and price wise). Other types that I've seen people talk about are Fuji XT3 or XT4, Canon SL3, and Nikon Z50. Though I am leaning more towards making videos, I'm also into photography. What's your opinion in general?
Hey JP, thanks for the kind words:) I think for video especially it’s hard to say the a6400 has any advantages. I’m no photographer so can’t speak with anything like the same authority on that side and it could be different 😂 My personal plan is to trade in the a6400 and mostly cover the cost of the zv-e10. If anyone feels like the a6400 is the better choice and they have it already: no action needed, so everyone wins 😂 Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed (and apologies of you have, I get like zero notifications these days so find it better to check 😂) and have an awesome weekend 👍👏
Hey Peng, great question and yeah, it’s locked at 5500k. In reality you’d probably change to get the best results in some shots, but the aim here was to try and keep settings locked so any colour difference comes from the cameras themselves. Hope that helps clarify:) Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a great day 💪👏
Really appreciate the kind words Kevin:) The colour is just HLG3 out of camera then mapped to Rec2020-no grading. Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a great day 👍
If you dont mind, can you share the log footage zve 10 with hlg3? I want to test it for colorgrade compared with my a6400,I just want to know is there any different on th color or not
You might have Ella, I don’t get notifications for subscribers now and often can’t see so I usually double check unless I know I’ve chatted with that person before:) Great to have you on board either way and have a lovely day 😁
“So the build quality must be different right? No” The ZV E10 is plastic, the 6400 is magnesium. That’s a massive difference in long term ruggedness. “The ZV E10 has a button for S&q which makes it easy to get to, which the 6400 doesn’t have” okay? S&Q is on the modes dial, it takes 1 second to spin the dial to that mode You not using the viewfinder is a fair assessment for your use case but it is useful for bright photography, or outdoor filming on a tripod in bright light and checking exposure and focus before you get started. Not really a major gripe but it is an extra cost of production The only reason I watched this video was to find out if the ZV E10 has picture profiles like the 6400 does. Picture profiles, magnesium housing, and water resistant rating are the only 3 reasons to get the 6400 over the 6100, and so far the ZV E10 only has 0 of those things, making it a 6100 replacement in my book, not a 6400 replacement. Don’t compare the 6400 to the ZV E10 if you’re not even going to mention a single one of the features that makes it unique from the 6100, a camera that is the same price as the ZV E10 and say it’s a better camera for less money. I get that 6400 is worse for some things and better for others but 6100 is a better comparison, or at least mention the things that made the 6400 unique
Hey LS, some good points well made there. Agree on the magnesium point; I should have been clearer I was referring to the feel of the build quality - trouble with rushing to get these big videos done sometimes is forgetting to mention some bits. As for picture profiles the zv-e10 does have them: the video was shot in pp10 HLG on both cameras as mentioned at the beginning. You’ve picked up on a couple of valid differences that aren’t core to my use case but are very much worth highlighting. I thought I did cover the viewfinder point and agree with your assessment. I’d also say the video shooting features, noting this is a review for videography on a videography channel, do make the zv-e10 a stronger choice than the a6400 for thst use case. As you rightly say, that won’t be the same for other use cases where the importance is weighted very differently across features. Thanks for picking up these bits and for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a great day 👍
@@dbvares8745 thank you for the response. So it looks like a direct upgrade for a 6100 user, but a side grade for a 6400 user, or another option depending on feature wants. I also think the side flip is a personal preference, I prefer the flip up since it keeps my eyes closer to the lens instead of looking off to the side for vlogging. I do wish the hot shoe for the 6400 was permanent off to the side, that’s definitely one of my complaints about the camera however. You did cover the viewfinder point yes, I was agreeing with you there on it being situational for you but a definite reason to cost more. I see this camera as the choice for someone who wanted a 6100, didn’t care about the viewfinder, but wanted picture profiles. Because those are SO big of an upgrade from the 6100 that having those alone makes the ZV E10 the better camera, even with having less control buttons and dials.
DB another great vid,i have a question about bokeh,if you where shooting a video of a human full body just far away enough what sigma would give you better bokeh 16m 1.4 or 30m 1.4
Hey Paulie, Einz, great to hear from both of you:) And Einz is right, all else equal a tighter focal length will give more background compression and more noticeable bokeh, so a full body shot would have more bokeh with the 56 than the 30 a d more with the 30 than the 16. But all are great lenses:) I’m waiting to see a good deal on the 56 and have some spare funds so I can complete the trio:) Cheers both and have a great weekend 👍
Hey Riccardo, it depends what you will shoot. If mainly video and you'll need some stabilisation I'd suggest the ZV-E10, if mainly stills or you really need an EVF the a6600 is probably a better option. Thanks for the great question, consider subbing if you like the content and have a great weekend!
Hey Dave, it has picture profiles and while it does not have ibis it does have active steadyshot (digital stabilisation) and catalyst gyroscopic stabilisation) both of which can be very helpful and aren’t in the other a-series. Except now ZV-e10s go for $1200 on ebay and no store has any stock... and a6400 go for around $900 and are unavailable on amazon so... good luck if you're trying to get either
This ZV-e10 basically made the a6400 obsolete for video users who wouldn't need the EVF anyway. Plus, does anyway actually use the built in flash? Crazy how much more the a6400 sells for over the ZV-e10.
Hey FWTB, always great to see you. Agree with Ashley on this too - at least in the uk the price difference is shocking. I’m gonna see if there’s any more content I need my a6400 for and if not I’ll trade in and almost cover what I paid for the zv-e10, despite it being a clear upgrade for a videography person like me:)
@@dbvares8745 I got my a6400 for $375 on ebay with almost no use by the previous owner who thought it was an a6000. Now I use it with my sigma 30mm and I think it's an amazing camera!

Hey Rotha - far too many 😂 probably somewhere between 15 and 20. I don’t closely track but for my style of video it’s typically an hour of work for each minute of final product. Can be a lot more if there’s lots of testing or a bit less if I know a topic and have appropriate footage already:)
Incredible work, great job! I am a newb, so to hear what it takes you to produce this production quality is a great dose of reality for me. I will certainly “re-calibrate” my expectations of my “productivity. 😳😂. Thanks
Hey FW, that totally depends on your use case. That’s basically what I did: picked up the zv-e10 and I’m trading in my a6400. I’d like to see a comparison between 1080p and 4K. For some scenarios, I would want to use 1080p to keep file sizes down and make rendering easier. However, I’ve read that the ZV-E10 and A6x00 cameras have poor 1080p. Some real world footage would be very helpful 👍

The lack of buttons is probably the idea a vlogger audience wants things simple - which may be true - but I wish there were a few more for more experienced users or new people to grow into 😂
The zoom rocker and on off switch are straight out of the fx3 playbook and I wish we’d had 10% more fx3 and 10% less zv1/a6400 in the gene pool 😂
Which is good for wild life photography zv e10 or a 6400
@@dhirajsoni3515 Neither, honestly. I think a Canon M6 Mark II is much better for stills.
What a great comment. Very helpful.
I was having a hard time deciding which one to get as my first camera. I was leaning heavily to the ZEV10 but the stabilization was a major drawback. Might as well get an A7II

The gyroscopic data registry is fantastic on the ZV e10. Sony fixed everything wrong with the Alpha 6400 on the ZV e10. I hope they release the new Alpha 6400 soon. That will have metal build and all the new features

I'm picking up another one to go along with my Fuji XT5
happy user of the zv e10 here ! bought one for $800 with the kit lens on a sale a counldn't be happier !!
Thanks for your humor and insight into the gear! I'm almost 100% decided on the ZV-e10 from your videos.
It’s a while ago but I think there’s a brief FC comparison in either my old catalyst video:
ruclips.net/video/O698QZRGI4E/видео.html or my old zv1 stabilisation vid: ruclips.net/video/Ty2FoHbDff8/видео.html
Internet in my current spot is bandwidth capped so I can’t pop in and check but I’m sure it’s in one of them haha 😂
Cheers both and have a great weekend 👍

Thanks man .. I watch the video and bought the zve10 immediately
As someone who wants to start making sit down style YT videos, some streaming, and who doesn't want to use it as a picture camera, the ZV-e10 looks like the choice for me...

Awesome, I’m really happy it was useful for you:) Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have an awesome day 👍
The ZV-E10 is definitely cool and builds nicely on the ZV-1 platform [adding lens flexibility].
For me I prefer flip out to flip up for vlogging as I often can’t see the settings at the bottom of the screen with flip up which drives me crazy haha 😂
The flash I’ve barely used so it’s cool to here the creative things you can do with it:) One day I’d love to spend more time on photography but between the day job and other commitments the biggest enemy is time 😂

1. Record the long duration videos from story narrators for my research
2. Record some short films low budget and documentaries

I have both APS-C bodies, and when combined with the A7iv and a bunch of lenses, my quiver is full for hybrid shooting. Nice comparison, thanks!
How is the video quality like color and sharpness of both these cameras compared to the A7iv?

What's the difference between zv-e10 and a6400 in order to taking photos?
Appreciate the nice feedback Mohammad:) The underlying sensor and such is essentially the same between cameras. The viewfinder and glad of the a6400 may give advantages to user experience for photography but the images themselves will be basically identical if conditions and settings are the same.

@@dbvares8745 Yea rain is one thing, but I film quite a bit of my stuff off roading in the dirt and dust. So dust is probably my biggest concern. I’ve not heard any issues around streaming with the zv-e10. I don’t stream much so it could be I’m not aware but I think you’ll likely be fine given the camera has been built with streaming in mind as a major use case.

Solid comparison dude, really helpful

Hmm, so for image quality they are pretty much identical? I've been using the A6400 ever since it came out in 2019 and have loved it. I also own the ZV-1 and have always wanted a compact APSC camera. I'm though if the dynamic range would be any better in the A6400? Or are they the same since the sensors are identical?
Hey Yoyo, I think you're right - it's very hard to tel any difference in image quality, which makes sense given the shared sensor. I spotted some very minor differences in low light which are covered here: ruclips.net/video/9oC3AFpuKPE/видео.html

Amazing review bro!!
I'm not sure if the a6400 is too expensive for what it offers or if the ZV E10 is too bear (I should invest a bit more for more features/capabilities)
I even thought about checking out Lumix G85 because of the stabilization and overall more affordable, but I couldn't find the resolution I was hoping for.
I'm looking for suggestions please, thank you!!
Hey Althea, if value and a good selection of features are the priority I’d say the zve10 is likely better than a6400 (based on uk pricing). You might also consider the zv1 for a nice simple all in one solution. This vid might be useful: ruclips.net/video/s1maRhh3_Jw/видео.html

Nice again man, i was a little worried about my choice of zv-e10, but i agree very much to you. You are gonna get a lot of dislike from a6400 users.
Hey JP, thanks for the kind words:)
I think for video especially it’s hard to say the a6400 has any advantages. I’m no photographer so can’t speak with anything like the same authority on that side and it could be different 😂
My personal plan is to trade in the a6400 and mostly cover the cost of the zv-e10. If anyone feels like the a6400 is the better choice and they have it already: no action needed, so everyone wins 😂

What color temperature did you use for the out door low light ( street lights, very dark)videos? Still 5500k? Not auto white balance? Thanks.
Hey Peng, great question and yeah, it’s locked at 5500k. In reality you’d probably change to get the best results in some shots, but the aim here was to try and keep settings locked so any colour difference comes from the cameras themselves.
Hope that helps clarify:)

“So the build quality must be different right? No”
The ZV E10 is plastic, the 6400 is magnesium. That’s a massive difference in long term ruggedness.
“The ZV E10 has a button for S&q which makes it easy to get to, which the 6400 doesn’t have” okay? S&Q is on the modes dial, it takes 1 second to spin the dial to that mode
You not using the viewfinder is a fair assessment for your use case but it is useful for bright photography, or outdoor filming on a tripod in bright light and checking exposure and focus before you get started. Not really a major gripe but it is an extra cost of production
The only reason I watched this video was to find out if the ZV E10 has picture profiles like the 6400 does.
Great comparison.
DB another great vid,i have a question about bokeh,if you where shooting a video of a human full body just far away enough what sigma would give you better bokeh 16m 1.4 or 30m 1.4
If the subject is far and you want the most creamiest bokeh, go for sigma 56mm 1.4
Hey Paulie, Einz, great to hear from both of you:)
And Einz is right, all else equal a tighter focal length will give more background compression and more noticeable bokeh, so a full body shot would have more bokeh with the 56 than the 30 a d more with the 30 than the 16. But all are great lenses:)
I’m waiting to see a good deal on the 56 and have some spare funds so I can complete the trio:)
Cheers both and have a great weekend 👍
Very good reviews! I am considering an a6600, is the ZV-E10 preferable today? I am not an expert, would be my first "serious" camera. Thanks
Hey Riccardo, it depends what you will shoot. If mainly video and you'll need some stabilisation I'd suggest the ZV-E10, if mainly stills or you really need an EVF the a6600 is probably a better option.

Which is better for wild life photography a6400 or zv e10 plz tell me 🙏🙏
Hey Dhiraj, I’d say for wild life photography you might benefit from the viewfinder on the a6400 so I’d consider that first.
Hope that helps!
Thanks for watching, consider subbing if you enjoyed and have a great weekend 👍
@@dbvares8745 if only viewfinder is not an important issue but if Both camera has good photo results then I will go for zv e10 . And thanks a lot for informative video 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I wanna rec during one hour continue (may more time) in 4k..which one less overheating..?
Hey NRH, I didn’t find overheating issues with either, so long as you open the flip screens so I don’t think you’ll find any significant difference. Both will do over an hour easily provided you have the battery and sd card space for it:)

Did somone notice the picture errors during the video? Those pixel bars. Around 2:20
Hey Alessandro - I just took a quick look and I'm not seeing anything. Where are you spotting things in the frame?

How did you activate AF in 4K on the ZV E10?
Hey PAX, no special trick for AF in 4k; simple ensure ‘continuous AF’ is selected as the focus mode and you’re good to go 👍

@@dbvares8745 Hi DB, I figured it out. Smartphone connection should be off when shooting in 4k. Kinda weird right
Ah - I don’t use that feature often so had not realised the link, good insight! And agree, definitely weird 😂
How many hours did you spend to create this video including Editing this video ?
Hey Rotha - far too many 😂 probably somewhere between 15 and 20. I don’t closely track but for my style of video it’s typically an hour of work for each minute of final product. Can be a lot more if there’s lots of testing or a bit less if I know a topic and have appropriate footage already:)
Incredible work, great job! I am a newb, so to hear what it takes you to produce this production quality is a great dose of reality for me. I will certainly “re-calibrate” my expectations of my “productivity. 😳😂. Thanks
Should I try to sell my a6400 to get the the zev10
Hey FW, that totally depends on your use case. That’s basically what I did: picked up the zv-e10 and I’m trading in my a6400. If you mainly shoot video and will benefit from all the newer features then maybe that’s a good idea, but it depends on your use case. Hope that helps!

@@dbvares8745 appreciated thanks
which camera is better for realestate video
I’m glad I only shoot in 1080 P, that jelly is really not in 1080p.
Thanks for the insight Keith, I rarely use 1080, but I’ll maybe do some side by side tests as that could be a potential big win for a lot of folks who don’t need 4k, appreciate you sharing!

A6400 has a good cinmatic color
Awesome work 👏🏼
