    Cleaning that beautiful arts & crafts Newcomb vase on set illustrates how much love, respect, & appreciation David Rago has for that piece & any other art pottery from that era. 👍😊

    1:30 that is not nicotine, that is tar from the cigarette smoke. Nicotine is a very simple clear (liquid) or white (solid) chemical.
    Just want to make sure everyone is getting the correct information.

      Yes, and I'm not sure I believe that "soaking it" is the best method of restoration for what is presumably a valuable antique. (Although he didn't give a value...grrrr...)

    HORRIBLE ADVICE ON CLEANING THAT AMAZING POTTERY VASE!!!! NEVER EVER submerged that vase into water. If needed cleaning use only 100% white cotton cloth towel dampened with water. Clean a small area at a time and keep using a clean cotton cloth. Layer cloth towels under the vase incase you drop or need to lay on it's side during cleaning. When having to dust, only use a dry white cotton cloth.

      Agreed.. always best to go slow with soft detergent, than quick with abrasive chemicals.

    There is no such thing as "nicotine" stains. Nicotine is colorless. "Tobacco" (which includes many discoloring ingredients) is what may discolor pieces.

    • @mntryjoseph1961
      @mntryjoseph1961 Год назад +2

      Not true! Nicotine is only colorless in its pure state, when exposed to light and air it turns brown in color, and gives off a strong tobacco order.

      @@danacaro-herman3530 House could be perfectly clean, well dusted, except for patina of cigarette tar on objects long unmoved in smoker's preferred sitting room. I've had pictures I purchased cleaned of what was mostly tar, according to the restorers, and the before/after difference is stark.
