This is one for the archives to be sealed in a time capsule and sent into the future so others may know what humans were capable of

Yes I agree you mam when you have something as beautiful as that an the history to go along with it plus being an heirloom it's nice to know its value but the money isn't worth the family value that in your heart ! I love to hear the violin I think it's a beautiful sound when played correctly !

For this price, it still isn't much for an instrument. I've seen professional bows for up to $10000 and violins for $50000. This is for regular, high end professional instruments. Look at Stradivari, Guarneri, etc. Millions of dollars.

Bran Flakes Rachel Barton Pine owns a 1742 Guarneri del Gesu, ex-Soldat that is valued at MILLIONS of dollars! It's an instrument that Johannes Brahms himself hand-picked for Marie Soldat!

@@rifaatisk1061 It failed to sell though because the price was so unrealistic. It was more of a stunt pulled by the dealer (working with a very rich New York family of musicians who have particular connections in "a certain world [in terms of business]" but not many connections with your-average-hard-working classical musicians).
The Stradivari viola that was the "$45 mil viola" is realistically more around the $8mil - $12mil mark. Still.... a lot.
