The Virus that Turns Minecraft into a Horror Game

- Error 437 is a Minecraft horror exe that claims to include a virus in the game. The virus adds to the horror of the game by allowing 4th wall breaks, affecting your actual pc. Let's play through the game and see all that Error 437 has to offer

Honestly his entire Discord should be taken down immediately for that

@@AstroBlakeD a vm check is absolutely not malware. it’s commonly used to *try* to prevent reverse engineering of apps, very unsuccessfully however.
It's crazy how no one has made an actual exe game of Minecraft, that copies the look of the game. The textures slowly turn more rotten and there's a scary Herobrine and of course, jumpscares. But it's probably because horror maps can already do that
But if there was a Minecraft.exe game, it would probably be based off Minecraft Alpha since that was the first original appearance of Herobrine
minecraft is an exe game
@@pyrobytee haha funni, but it's what the genre is called.
@@UltraCenterHQ it probably exists
@@totallyawesome5458 it doesn't, it's all just edited Minecraft java
The game looks super well done and amazing, but the creator is actually evil. I understand making it a virus to make it be more immersive, but adding a vm detector is horrible. I don't know why they did that unless they're actually trying to infect people with viruses.
ye hard agree, tf was on the creator's mind to put a vm detector
@@CreepahJacket and if the reasoning wasn't malicious, I can kind of see their thought. They might think, "Oh the lack of security while playing will make the game scarier," but no, that's the bad kind of fear. Good fear is being scared that Mr. Error is going to kill you, bad fear is making somebody conscious about their cyber security. Bad move, devs.
He probably wants actual consequences to make that thing special
Like you could always put that version on a shitty empty PC and reinstall windows on it, 1.3 minecraft doesnt need good performance and a lot of people can get or find a garbage pc for free
+ if people actually download it and it breaks their system, they probably will be way more careful about installing stuff, it's alright in my book to make people careful about their cyber security with a relatively harmless virus
@@manuxx3543 You said "if it breaks their system" and "it's a harmless virus" in the same sentence. Your reasoning of "well people who want to play their game should suffer because downloading sketchy things is bad" doesn't make any sense. I am genuinely struggling to see how you typed all this up without realizing how like... dumb it is.
@@manuxx3543 My god, a virus that breaks your system is far from harmless, and needs a VM to be safe. Did you even proofread such a long comment? And not everyone has multiple computers
I feel this mod would be much scarier if it wasnt so over kill. if it was just slow and took a while for the glitches it would be way cooler and scarier.
It’s a virus. Seemingly malicious.
Yeah, I think a good horror game should slowly build up some atmosphere instead of being a jumpscare compilation.
I agree tbh, it'd be really cool if it started out almost totally normal, and slowly things started to get weirder rather then just so much stuff happening right away that it just becomes normal
sorta like the actual OG Herobrine stories, just a slow descent into corruption... almost unexpectedly so
yeah the constant barrage of “death” with no real reason just felt cheap, trying to shock with something not even that shocking.
Disagreed the overkill fits
So cool that Notch actually decided to help with the atmosphere of the episode with a personalized video, good stuff

Big respect, as a reverse engineer, for doing stuff like ripping mod assets and building your own version. I love when people screw the rules with knowledge.
Honestly i like the idea of a file that modifies Minecraft and makes it look weird and creepy, but making the same version with a different name and placing a virus in there is not cool ngl.
The worst part is that you can't use it in a VM. The “creator” is quite the bag of gilded dicks.
memes aside though, that VM detector was an EXTREMELY scummy move
this "mod" seems so easily exploitable with the creator forcing it to run on your own rig and not on a VM + i just feel like most of the stuff he adds only makes the game harder "artificially" like locking controls, random spawns in lava, and things like that
I thought spawning in lava was more of a flaw in design than an attempt at difficulty.
fun fact: the text at 9:45 is a hexadecimal cipher meaning "meeting expectations!"
that's probably just an actual Minecraft splash text
@Máté Antal pretty sure i saw that before in a new version of Mc like 1.19 or Smth, or maybe that was a video I saw
Cant we just appreciate how well this was edited to seem authentic
And they managed to get notch to make vids of him to make it 1000000x better
Amazing
Yes so yes !1!1!1!
Notch was always a man of the community, a fan of the fandom.
error 422 looks more like a mod than a proper glitched verison of minecraft
like the entity is just a mob that spawns in
it basically is, at least from what I saw of it
Everytime I encountered the entity they just stood there and killed my game (I was playing an older version and I was doing something on my phone, plus I was in water, so I really didn't get to see much of the entity, and then my game did the little text file [in game ofc] with ERROR 422, and then I had to close the game lol)
Just the fact that notch went to hell is hilarious to me.
I think Notch actually used the mod to get out of Minecraft, grow a beard, and become Bill Gates. So he actually swapped places with Bill Gates and in spite of Bill Gates, gives 15% off xbox gold for three months to random people.
One time when playing Minecraft, I found some grass that was different colours from the surrounding grass, and my brother who was playing on the same world didn’t see it. That moment still creeps me out
I remember having a pc so laggy that the world generated trees that didn't had any leafs or instead of wood it was leafs. I was very scared back then
Was that on PE? I remember that happening to me as well, it was kind of cool.
@@unfoundpump yes, it was
What is grass colour
@@fiony1 If I were you I would've fenced off that area of wood leaf trees, and made it like a place of worship, adding a Japanese temple and shit lol
I genuinely appreciate how a jumpscare or something that's supposed to be creepy appears & this guy's just like "Hm. Unoriginal. I've seen better."
As someone with anxiety, a lot of these things could probably genuinely scare me, but when it's met by someone being utterly unimpressed it really defangs the whole thing
Creators gonna be so pissed he got around the vm detect.

_Love the middle finger to the VM detector!_
I liked how you mentioned MEMZ, but for anyone who doesn't know what it is, it was created by Leurak, who initially made it as a fan submission for a series called Viewer Made Malware, a series of videos created by youtuber danooct1, here the virus also made a appearance on the Windows 10 Destruction live stream by Swedish twitch streamer Vargskelethor Joel, and such Laurak made more viruses for Joel, including VineMEMZ, which made a appearance in danooct1's channel as well.

It goes beyond a scary game when it really starts messing with your PC and your worried about your security
In early 2010s, i played Minecraft with Block Launcher, it was very bugged, after some time, chunks on flat world regenerated, and caused big walls around my base
Also, texteres often randomised, and this looked very scary and i used to create a new world

7:59 Side note: Almost every obscene word in English (maybe not anymore, but still a lot of them) is derived from the Anglo-Saxon components of English. Said words became obscene when the *French* Normans invaded England in 1066, and introduced French and Dutch into England. Thinking their words to be superior and the Anglo-Saxons' to be inferior, certain English words became obscene.
Ironic that we say, "Pardon my French," before cursing, despite the fact that it ought to be our Anglo-Saxon/Old English that needs pardoning, thanks to the French.
I didn't understand everything , the only thing I understand is that i'm french , and french invaded england in 1066

This was Interesting, Playing a Corrupted Minecraft, In General,
Playing a Corrupted Game is Creepy,
Its like your Playing Something...
That your not meant to!
Not gonna lie, I really don't like the way most of "Virus" or "Corrupted" .exe games are EXEcuted
Like, they are really not replacting an error as it would actually happend, but rather making an edgy unaccuarate carbon copy of it, like how an error looks to general media. Put it in this way, if you were playing minecraft and suddenly your game gets replaced by this version of the game (or any other of the mentioned in the video), how much would you differentiate whenever it's an actual horror virus or a modified, "man made" version of the game? In this case, I straight up say that it is modified, not an actual virus like thing and that some friends are pulling a prank on me
And I do recognize that it's just for entretaining purposes and it doesn't have to get that real, but I would love and aim to something that takes the error/corruption/virus in a more realistic sense, as It gives more of a "truer" horror experience which eventually amplifies the horror, because in that case you would hardly discern between reality or just a thing that was set up. Of course, if downloading it knowking that is a horror version thing would just throw down the entire "this is actually real" thing, but I still belive that keeping it the most legit would definitely make it a lot better and spoopier
You don't even need a glitched version of the game, there's already ghosts in the machine. If you piss them off enough, they'll start messing with you. I know from experience.
For best results, start a new world and put as much malice as you can into the world, and be as sadistic and cruel as possible, especially to villagers. Build altars to these unknown spirits and offer sacrifices, and above all, experiment. In the world I tried it on, I tried using all the different Herobrine tricks from when I was a kid. I'm not completely sure if it had any effect, but it doesn't matter, in the end I got the desired results.
If all goes well, you'll quickly notice that things will start acting weird. I didn't get very far in my world, but the first sign that what I was doing was working was that the order of items in my chests would occasionally change somewhat, I would sometimes see what looked like player nametags deep underground (in a sp world), and the smoking gun was when one of the villagers I captured and trapped underground just disappeared without a trace, while the other 3 remained.
Try it and tell me how it goes. Even try an ultra good playthrough and tell me if it works.

Ngl, The nausea effect looks like you're high on 3 different drugs at once.
So nice from notch and bill gates to help you out with this video!
I was disappointed to see it went full on right from the start. I wish someone would make something that's more slow burn. Starts out like a normal version. Things start off very minor, something you could discount as a bug. Maybe that chicken dropped raw beef and now chicken. Whatever, probably a bug. Food is food. But it gets worse. Things in your base change when you aren't looking. Maybe your crafting table shifts one block out of place. In your chest you find a blank piece of paper that you never put there. Other stuff happens. I dunno I'm not the creator. Eventually you see a join message. Maybe a randomly generated name, or just no name, like " joined" but they quickly leave. Sometime later they join again, but they don't leave as fast. You hear a block break, look around, see a nametag and they log out before you can read it. Escalate.
I wish someone would do this wink wink

i gotta say error 437 is impossible to guess that this game turns into a virus after something glitchy happens then your computer is melting in pain with all that glitchy stuff
This would be a good anti piracy minus the virus portion
ANTI PIRACY DONT STEAL ORIGINAL BUY OR DIE
I disagree. Believable anti-piracy is not just creepypasta. Real anti-piracy measures are designed to convince the pirates to buy a real copy or at least make fun of them, and they usually don't need to be "creepy" to do it.
Anti piracy screens invoke sense of guilt, not fear
