I love how in the intro Kirby just crashes and it goes to the intro It just radiates so much shitpost energy while at the same time being low key disturbing
I find it interesting the creator chose Super star as a medium for this story, when the virus shares traits with dark matter, yet is in one of the few Kirby games to not have a form of dark matter’s influence. (Not counting the lore introduced in returns and onward) Super star was probably chosen due to the advert, the game being the most recognisable and nostalgic for a lot people, and just the fact there’s a lot more visual variety you could do with it. The virus’s similarity to dark matter might be a coincidence but it’s still interesting.
So an interesting theory I had that I would have explored if the series gave me any indication was that the virus’s true origins being leftover files of dark matter. Kirby superstar conveniently takes place right in the middle of the dark matter trilogy, and maybe due to the recent developments, Dark matter was thrown in by accident and without any actual purpose.
"We need to get Donny moving" "Finish what we started. The longer you wait, the worse it might get." It sounds to me like the entity is not in control of the virus itself, and is in fact keeping tabs on it. Donny is trying to convince his boss that the virus is a problem that needs dealing with, but with the launch proceeding as scheduled, the virus is spreading rapidly. I think the entity's appearance in the first scene wasn't him luring in a victim, but rather him trying to scare off a potential victim. Meanwhile, Donny is trying to figure out how to fully implement the entity within the game so that it can stop the virus. Something which the system is blocking him from doing as is shown in the final scene.
My favorite part is the Kirby community’s reaction to this. With everything else it’s “oh no corrupt nostalgia!” Or “This is definitely something darker than the original” With the Kirby community it’s just like “Oh hey another abomination for the catalogue”
i mean, we’re kirby fans. we’re used to things being incredibly dark out of supposedly nowhere. it’s why we love the series so much! TMK is also just very well made and fun to watch.
@@Cloud_Strife1997 I've been growing increasingly interested in the Kirby series ever since the community welcomed the final boss from Sonic Frontiers into the "Ah, the horrors" group. I've seen some shit from Kirby but does it really get that abstract like people say it does? If so I may have to check it out!
@@exist4046 it gets super abstract. it’s been confirmed by the current main developer of kirby that there’s never been an exact clear timeline and boy do they go wild with it! good games to start with are return to dreamland, triple deluxe, or planet robobot. they’re probably the best entries in the series so far, with return to dreamland being the best overall imho. all the entries are great in their own rights, though, even the weaker games like squeak squad! just don’t get too into the lore, it’s incomprehensible as all can be, lol
I think it's worth noting that marx is seen for a split second in the first episode. If the devs are being represented by kirby characters then maybe marx is representing the dev who created tmk.
I don’t know but the theory with the kids killing them to go into the Kirby world is really valid with Kirby spitting out the blood of the waddle doo with the “I can’t do anything right” shows that the kid is upset that he can’t use the copy ability and spits out the waddle doo in frustration and I just love that for some unknown reason
You can see that he tries to do the animation for swallowing but then just can’t and spits it out instead. It’s not like that’s how it goes when he spits either because he later showed he can spit enemies out normally
Interestingly enough, Kirby lore, the actual lore not this creepypasta lore, states that Kirby is able to do what he does because he possesses "infinite energy." Since these kids are NOT Kirby and just look like Kirby, naturally they wouldn't possess this and thus be unable to do it. It would also explain the random dead Kirby in the first video. He ran out of energy and died.
Idk if you noticed it, but at around 4:20, when it zooms into the person's eyes, if you go frame by frame, the eyes actually slowly turn into Kirbys with their face blacked out like TMK
I’m pretty sure they confirmed that the bosses son was Brent and not the third kid, this was mostly confirmed by the teaser, but it was also confirmed with the whole **brent Cole: I have your son** gravestone thing.
All of this info but there is one thing i feel is overlooked, the first episode with the page of Japanese overlapping the sentient kirby 0:43 Also i paused it on accident and i got somehow a slight jumpscare with the glitch giving the empty box a pair of eyes meeting my gaze
the page of text is just the japanese description of spring breeze and as far as i can tell it hasn't been changed also the building at 2:18 says nintendo in japanese 任天堂
Feels eerily reminiscent of the original Ring novel trilogy, where instead of Sadako emerging from the TV, she spread a horrific mutated smallpox virus through her videotape. I wonder if the Ring trilogy might have influenced this series based on those similarities.
Honestly, I consider this to be a classic "game becomes sentient" story, but it's done better than most. Someone, or something, put a unique piece of game code into Kirby Super Star during development. This code quickly became aware of it's own existence, being helped by one of the game's developers, which found the code and gave it a name (Hence TMK, since the original file is TMK.EXE). The code ends up rapidly increasing in cognition, and before long can remember the dev that found it. The dev lets the project lead know about this "bug", but he brushes it off since it's a "one-in-a-million" thing. His mood changes once his son is affected, who soon perishes due to TMK, and that catches up to the story so far. Although there are still questions. For one, why is this dev helping TMK? Seems counter-productive to put a malicious superintelligence into your mass-produced game. For some reason, this _thing_ seems to kill people, probably it trying to _control_ them through subliminal messaging and other techniques to mess with people's thoughts. In one bit, TMK tries to tell one of them to carve something on his arm, just three letters, and I bet we can guess what those letters are. Gives me the idea that TMK's trying to make itself known? Trying to escape the coded prison it's within? Who knows, we'll need to wait. Sudden Quick Edit: Actually, after watching the videos over again, seems like his true goal is to find his purpose, and this somehow involves killing. This somehow gives me more questions than answers...
@JELLY The Tirant if I remember correctly kirby is also made out of void, but because he is nurtured in dreamland he absorbed positive energy and become (arguably) good. Void termina is nurtured through worship, sacrfices, and dark energy. While goopy/gooey is somewhat neutral (guessing it got relatively equal parts of both) and trying to find its purpose Also according to the void termina description: “... he has finally arrived. And now, he has begun to feel. To desire. To think. Within the void, there lurks...a Soul” so yeah the bug being a new “stray” dark matter that experience existential crisis and manages to reach beyond the screen fits the lore of kirby canon
Along with the story, another thing I really like about the series is the art style. A lot of series like this usually stick to a very jittery, kind of stuttering style of animation, when it comes to images like the ones in this series at least. But this one has a lot of smooth and flexible but quickly paced movements, even if they're slight. I think it makes it look both more cartoony, yet also weirdly uncanny, especially since you don't usually see such animation styles in media like this.
The first episode kinda had me rolling my eyes, cus it just came off as too on the nose with it's scarier, but I gotta say, after seeing the next few episodes, I became intrigued. The sprite work is really good, and I'm interested in seeing where the story goes from here. As for theories, I feel like Meta Knight being shown as someone in the story (possibly a police officer) means something. Is he possibly related to the second victim Ryan? Either way, this series looks awesome so far!
These kirby horror videos just tug and tug relentlessly at nostalgia. When I was a lot younger, maybe 6, the only game I played on my DS was Kirby Super Star Ultra. I've beat all of the different modes hundreds of times. This has brought back memories that were lost. I fucking miss those days, getting back from school after a not so stressful day of first grade, playing kirby until I inevitably passed out while playing. Fuck.
I like the idea the TMK bug is some form of Dark Matter, maybe an unused Dark Matter asset that gained sentience and became a bug in the copies of the games, and their appearance to Kirby makes sense due to Dark Matter and Kirby being confirmed to be of the same or of similar species.

There’s 3 out right now and a smaller video that kind of goes in between I guess? But I would love if you checked it out
the choice to make TMK's only defining feature an eyeball is brilliant. on dark matter it's used to bring out fear, but here it brings out emotion. it gives TMK humanity. i can see it feeling pain, and disappointment.
This is different from catastrophe crow as it's like, an actual game, what makes catastrophe crow unique is that it's a game that didn't exist beforehand, but they are similar to a degree
Not really Crow 64 was a full on arg and the starting viddo being so much like a legit videogame youtuber type of video all the details and the months of work make it unique
You did a better look at the video than I did. And it's amazing how Maple Riot, a guy who does pixel art animation on popular characters going one to one on each other, can animate it to look like it's real gameplay.
I think TMK when it said “I have your son” is referring to the boss how I can tell is because of the new video well it is a teaser, if you turn the captions on and set it to English (United States) it will say “Brent Cole: case open” and the boss repeatedly saying “I didn’t kill my son” and another caption saying “I love my son”
So the bug remembers Donnie and clearly likes him as a friend from when he said I missed you so they should make the bug good instead of just getting rid of him
This is actually way more interesting than NeedleMouse. The lack of Jumpscares and great work of animation and story and disturbing scenes make this so enjoyable to watch. I can’t wait to see Season 2!
Yoo im super glad people are starting to make videos about this ARG! I just randomly got the first video of that series in my recommendations and I've been a fan ever since!
Now we need a Scott the Woz like grand finale where all the kirbys from all the games fight and destroy the virus with the power of friendship, love, and brute force.
This is why their souls are being transferred into the game after they died, they're coming to embrace Kirby's world, if something isn't done with TMK, it will spread globally, like a virus, bringing an end to humanity
@@Hummingb1rdWell Canonically, Kirby is also a Void born of positive energy, Dark Matter or rather Zero/Void Termina are born of Negative energy, so you could say TMK is similar to Void, born Neutral, but influenced by Negative energy.
I noticed something, in one of the episodes, one of the frames in the glitch resemble a dead body, and a car liscense plate (including a very strangely bright light). This might mean someone(or something) died in a car crash. And in a future episode, there does involve a car, maybe they could connect in some way.
What if the picture of the 3 boys at the end of the 1st episode are the 3 boys who died? Think about it for a moment, it would make sense considering the fact that the virus TMK can remember people, and maybe the virus decided to use the 3 boys in their "plan"
i just wanna know why every modern analogue jumps STRAIGHT into the horror, like what if it was a slow burn, hints that add up to something much darker over time, slowly and slowly become more dark and corrupt, nah just have kirbs die and show a photoshopped image
Yeah I definitely prefer a slow burn. Feels more rewarding and takes itself more seriously. I don't mind content like this though, videos are a lot of work so it makes sense to get as much attraction as possible by jumping straight to the scares
Slow burns for horror tend to be better for movies. It can work for series, but for stuff like Mandela Catalogue, the format (corrupted VHS media) and subject matter basically requires that it shows some of it′s cards at the start if it wants to gain attention and maintain it.
0:43 I'm not 100% fluent in japanese, so take this translation with a grain of salt, and if you have a more accurate translation feel free to reply, but here is what I was able to make out of it "In the far away, amazing 'Pobobo Land', all of the food has been stolen! It must've filled the stomach of the Evil Dedede! A super short and comfortable game to play recommended to you!"
I like how in that first microsecond where the game is starting and they show the thumbnail on the computer screen, Kirby slowly moves his head to stare at the person playing the game.
what's funny is the re-upload actually has truth to it as I put the original part two in my watch later only to find it was listed as deleted and looked back on the channel the next day to be called re-uploaded
Can we acknowledge that in the last episode before Kirby speaks with TMK, (the part where TMK says that he is younger than the others) specifically at the minute 13:41 Kirby was trying to absorb an enemy to get the electric hat (I don't know the name) but he is not able to do so so he spit it out forming the blood? Maybe the kids when they get trapped in the game they are not able to use any copy abilities making them more vulnerable to the enemies around them and causing them to completely die or being full hosts for TMK Is just a little detail that I noticed but I don't know if is going to be relevant or not in the future of the series
DUDE I WAS LITERALLY WATCHING THESE VIDEOS YESTERDAY thx so much i was so confused on what is happening in the vids but also i was so scared watching this like of course i HATE scary things yet i cant stop watching them and this vid TERRIFIED ME also i was watching this at night
About Brent Cole's suicide, maybe the reason why Kirby wasn't on the screen was perhaps he tried to make the boy die, then he might've gone back to the screen and hidden, that's when the mother arrives.
wow the editing in the analog horror and your video is amazing, I love that in the analog horror there's these stetcing effect and the translation to talk about the next episode in the video, great job😮👍
I feel like analog horror is a extremely repetitive and boring genre most of the time. But this series is a exception for me, as this series has amazing editing and animation. It feels like a work of art rather than a “distorted face scary boo”series.
In 11:02, the Japanese text says this, “Established together with Harukase Naruhito No more frustration From Robupuburando, all the creatures have been stolen! Stomach gets warm quickly Taose! Kurumono "Debde is 3"!! Easy play from Supers Even if you try to be gay, it's ok to be Osco” I copied the Japanese text, searched up Japan to English and that’s what came up

the choice to make TMK's only defining feature an eyeball is brilliant. on dark matter it's used to bring out fear, but here it brings out emotion. it gives TMK humanity. i can see it feeling pain, and disappointment.
This is basically Catastrophe Crow all over again.
I love it.
What is Catastrophe Crow?
@@Dusk_Mightyena Creepypasta about "lost game that have never released" that called Catastrophe Crow. Just watch some videos about it.
This is different from catastrophe crow as it's like, an actual game, what makes catastrophe crow unique is that it's a game that didn't exist beforehand, but they are similar to a degree
*game theory flash-backs*
Not really
Crow 64 was a full on arg and the starting viddo being so much like a legit videogame youtuber type of video all the details and the months of work make it unique
You did a better look at the video than I did. And it's amazing how Maple Riot, a guy who does pixel art animation on popular characters going one to one on each other, can animate it to look like it's real gameplay.
Kirby jumpscare.
Two words that I'd never though put together.
14:57 got me laughing for some reason
"Drop the soap"
I did not expect that comic relief 💀💀
I’m oddly obsessed with that intro sequence. So good!
It's hard to make anything scarier than kirby lore itself.
So the bug remembers Donnie and clearly likes him as a friend from when he said I missed you so they should make the bug good instead of just getting rid of him
14:14 meta knight is the police confirmed
8:29 its actually conveyed that having tmk can make them go insane as heard in the clip there is screaming right before a bone chilling snap
This is actually way more interesting than NeedleMouse. The lack of Jumpscares and great work of animation and story and disturbing scenes make this so enjoyable to watch. I can’t wait to see Season 2!
Season 2 was actually out already as TMK in the stage as the number one most used creepypastas character
*Sonic The Hedgehog*
Sonic.EXE but with a twist
Yoo im super glad people are starting to make videos about this ARG! I just randomly got the first video of that series in my recommendations and I've been a fan ever since!
Just saying, the way you say 'Superstar' gives me much serotonin so thank you good sir
"This is the Kirby horror ARG"
I think you mean "This be the Kirby Horror, ARRRRGGGHHHH!"
I love how the first second start with one eyed creepy kirby while the cheerful music of Superstar's intro start playing
This notification woke me up, and honestly I'm excited to watch this video
Always good to see you in the comments, thank u as always!
Watch the video
I saw a comment about this arg that theorized that either dark matter is what TMK is or TMK is a virus that can infect other Nintendo games
Other games not just Nintendo games. The latest video has something about sonic
@@dabmonstr7403 Different series in the TMK universe
@@dabmonstr7403 Bro, is this gonna become the Pibby of the video-game landscape?
Since TMK can also affect non-Nintendo games, does that mean it could affect licensed games and maybe even other forms of media like television?
@@deadbeatnetwork9792 The glitch has affected video games in some fanworks, so perhaps.
Maple Riot isn't just one person. They are a community channel. Some people there have worked on Rooster Teeth's Death Battle in the past iirc.
Now we need a Scott the Woz like grand finale where all the kirbys from all the games fight and destroy the virus with the power of friendship, love, and brute force.
Or morpha knight vs TMK
the “radio station” has the Japanese characters for “Nintendo” on it. Might be important.
You're absolutely right
Thank you for covering this
Always felt this series was underrated and it's nice to see someone bringing attention to it
i love how this all originated from a goofy kirby commercial *that probably awoken something in some*
0:21 it’s the *ARHG* for me
Pirates depicted in cartoons be like:
9:05 HE DRINK I knew!
So the theme of the ARG here is “Reject humanity, embrace Kirbe”, am I hearing that right?
idk you might be
This is why their souls are being transferred into the game after they died, they're coming to embrace Kirby's world, if something isn't done with TMK, it will spread globally, like a virus, bringing an end to humanity
You could accurately say that
I can and I did
This is cute compare to the final boss in Forgotten Land.
Seriously. The first time I laid eyes on it, I felt a pit in my stomach.

Bug? Void? *hollow knight theme starts playing*
0:30 kirby mp 4
@@Hummingb1rdWell Canonically, Kirby is also a Void born of positive energy, Dark Matter or rather Zero/Void Termina are born of Negative energy, so you could say TMK is similar to Void, born Neutral, but influenced by Negative energy.
Kirby Mass Attack just got a whole new meaning.
I love this horror analog with my soul. I decided to go to the channel of the creator and the SECOND season came out. It is still good.
So that's it then?
That was just actual Kirby lore but some things were replaced with death for no reason!
I think marx dies before he become his soul form
So this is just kirby lore
@@misterboxhead3045 You know what? Yeah, you're right, this was literally just Kirby lore with no changes.
@@charbomber110 Just another day for Kirby fans.
I noticed something, in one of the episodes, one of the frames in the glitch resemble a dead body, and a car liscense plate (including a very strangely bright light). This might mean someone(or something) died in a car crash. And in a future episode, there does involve a car, maybe they could connect in some way.
Wow
What if the picture of the 3 boys at the end of the 1st episode are the 3 boys who died? Think about it for a moment, it would make sense considering the fact that the virus TMK can remember people, and maybe the virus decided to use the 3 boys in their "plan"
That’s exactly what I’m thinking!
@@AutismRulesSupreme glad to know i wasn't the only one!
Dude, they were the three boys who died
@@Dusk_Mightyena exactly, 3 boys died, 3 boys were in the picture, see the connection?
this is what I wanna see from ARG's and analog horror, this is very well made
Thank you for doing a series I’ve never heard of and one MatPat will probably never do
i just wanna know why every modern analogue jumps STRAIGHT into the horror, like what if it was a slow burn, hints that add up to something much darker over time, slowly and slowly become more dark and corrupt, nah just have kirbs die and show a photoshopped image
That “Hello.” From TMK is so fucking visceral

Its not changed from the original.
Isn't this elder god reincarnate horrifying enough on his own?
fair enough
What I heard with the phone call was “hello if your calling in 3:00am, some us have a job, and it getting wors- before it cuts off
I like how in that first microsecond where the game is starting and they show the thumbnail on the computer screen, Kirby slowly moves his head to stare at the person playing the game.
what's funny is the re-upload actually has truth to it as I put the original part two in my watch later only to find it was listed as deleted and looked back on the channel the next day to be called re-uploaded
11:29 i shitted my self...
Maybe the kids when they get trapped in the game they are not able to use any copy abilities making them more vulnerable to the enemies around them and causing them to completely die or being full hosts for TMK
Is just a little detail that I noticed but I don't know if is going to be relevant or not in the future of the series
