Sims 2 happens 20 years after Sims 1 and Sims 3 happens before Sims 1 (Bella and Mortimer are children in Sims 3, for instance). For Sims 4 they just did whatever, gave some sims the same names, and didn't carry through any of the lore. :|
Well, there is like a master theory that connects everything and is kinda amazing, I think plumbella did a video on it once. Personally I chose to believe it cause it makes things much crazier and interesting for the lore..
Probably the best renovation I've seen for the Goths so far because their mansion is screaming "old money" to everyone who sees it and that suits Goths. This feels so much larger, realistic and impressive than the EA version. I would definitely do Alexander's room on the 3rd floor attic like in the Sims 3 :)
In a future video, I would love to see you turn this Gothic-Brutalist renovation into a modern Australian aesthetic. The style contrast would be so cool to see, especially in how it would affect the exterior and floor plan.

The Goth's do indeed have magic in the bloodline dating back to Lady Ravendancer Goth, who is only referenced as being an ancestor from like the medieval times. Lady Ravendancer's spellbook was an item in the Sims 3 store.

At first I wasn't really vibing with the modern-goth theme but I kinda ended up liking it. But I really liked the bedrooms, they turned out so well and I loved the colours you used for them. In general I think the basegame renovations are so entertaining, more pleaseee !
In a lot of older houses kitchens would be small because the people who lived in the houses would hire help (cooks, maids, etc). So because no one was gathering in the kitchen other than the hired help they didn't spend as much money on the kitchens because no one would be seeing it therefore making them smaller! Obviously in today's age the kitchen is more open and larger to accommodate the whole family.
16:53, you are not far off, Deli. Purple was considered the color of royalties back in the day because it was so hard and expensive to get this pigment and only royalties and super-rich people could afford purple clothes\items, so the purple chairs really fit Goth's and their status.
idk what the war is against custom content? if you want to use custom content, use it?? like, I don't have half the packs so half of the things you use anyway I don't have access too, it's silly trying to please everyone because it's impossible. It's more likely I would download CC because it's typically free compared to spending $20 on a new pack

I had a save where the Goth's had died in a house fire and the family (Mon, Dad, teen boy, female child) moved in and redecorated the Gothic house into a bright, modern house. The Goths are ghosts also living in the house and hate the new look and haunt the new family. Fun ensued.

That glow is sweat...from the heat of the lights. She is gorgeous, yes., but that glow isn't a good thing. Celebrities CAN cook just like turkeys. Do you want her around, or in the hospital? Clearly, she listens to her comments a bit closely. Light can cook, not simply heat. Humans feel a bit superior to animals, but I assure you...we roast the same...and it smells just as good.
Mortimer definitely hides something but it's still a good sim overall, Bella is a genuinely nice sim, love her sm. One thing I'm sure about it's that they love each other, idk I see them as the royal family of the sims franchise ahahah

I LOVE these renovation videos - they have really inspired me. The Goth home is pretty much untouched in my game as I never knew what to do with it to enhance it but now I have some ideas on how to fix it up for a new sim family to live in 🎉 Side note, The Goths to me were always a contemporary version of The Addams Family 😂

So here’s the timeline (I think). We start with The Sims 3 with Bella Bachelor as a child and Mortimer Goth as a child. Then in The Sims (first game), they are married with child-aged Cassandra. In the sims 2, we have missing Bella, Elder Mortimer, Adult Cassandra who is engaged to Don Lothario, and child-aged Alexander Goth. Between each game, there is an approximate 25 year time jump. The sims 4 doesn’t fit with this because Alexander is still a child but Cassandra is a teen, Bella is a young adult and not missing anymore, and Mortimer is an adult. I feel like they could have passed the sims 4 off as appearing in-between the sims and the sims 2 but they just said “alternate timeline” :(
It really bothered me that you gave them a TV as none of the Goth houses in any of the games has ever had one. I feel like part of their family personality is being low tech and finding things like watching TV or working out/playing sports to be a waste of time. They put knowledge over everything else. Other than that it is a very nice build.

It’s been a long time since I played with this family and I redid there house too . Did it the way that they would like it and she also had a baby. They’re not really that gothic. It’s just there name and I can’t remember but someone likes purple. I was going to decorate it all gothic until I started seeing what they liked and didn’t like and what they wanted in there house so that all changed. Some things stayed the same just because I felt it was an old house and it needs to be there. Oh ya the Goths on my game also had a pet. On another save I saw where they had a little girl 😮 I hadn’t even played with them on this save so this child had no bed to sleep in when I went to go peek to see who she was😮

So there's a whole Tumblr thread of the disappearance of Bella which I won't go into much detail about, you should definitely read it for yourself. But the theory is Mortimer was behind Bella's disappearance which is why he didn't seem too sad when she left and was willing to remarry almost immediately, and Alexander knew this so travelled timelines and got stuck and because of this the Sims 4 timeline was born. Which is why Bella and Mortimer are still very much in love in TS4 whereas they weren't in TS2. TS4 is like, Alex's fever dream. Apparently Bella was pregnant with Mortimer's child when she disappeared which is why she ended up in Lunar Lake and the kid was called Mathilde and ended up an orphan in Lunar Lakes, but the reason why she isn't in any of the other games is because no one knew she existed and Alex didn't write her in. So knowing this, and knowing TS4 was created to fix the problems of TS2 (by Alex), one thing I love doing is having Mathilde be reborn in TS4 like she was always fated to be there, and then playing around with Bella and Mortimer's relationship. Basically recreating the tragedy in a slightly different way so it's almost like it doesn't matter how many times Alex tries to fix it, they're doomed in every timeline.

I have always wanted to either renovate or find someone else's renovation of the Goth Mansion, and I feel like this is one of the best ones I have seen. The floor plan makes a lot more sense. I like how you have mostly maintained the original shape of the house. It's a pity that Alexander finally has a proper bedroom in this one, yet in my one save, Alexander randomly died of embarrassment seconds after aging up to a young adult. I just rolled with it.

I know I'm a wet blanket, but super high ceilings makes heating really expensive or just ineffective. My old dorm had a study room with double ceilings, and they got a visit from the city, because a student reported it as too cold for legal housing conditions.😅Personally, I thought it was the perfect place to wear my winter coat and take a cozy nap but I'm glad I wasn't paying to heat it.
Hot take: A packs gameplay content is allowed to suck if the build buy is especially good. The only problem with Baatu is that its a Stuff Pack sold as a game pack, The build buy is spectacular.

Absolutely love the walkway! In a house I've seen IRL with that kind of design, they had like a long hanging light on both sides of the bridge, it felt really fancy. Also a big aquarium! I'm curious to see how you would renovate other big houses in the Sims 4 :)
Wouldn’t it be cool if they did a birthday kit pack. Now that something since-able for a kit! They can have the void critter Thame or just keep it simple with some stand along balloons and some cute birthday cakes 🧁 🎂(similar to the cakes they did with the cupcakes on this new pack) and a bouncy house maybe a birthday banner and party hats 🥳 and maybe and birthday table with sets that match and a gift table that you can actually open gifts 🎁 ( like they did for seasons. But Tailored to that kit) that would be a good pack and you can’t even mass that up… welll🤷🏽♂️
I really enjoyed your exploration of brutalism, it would be cool to see you experiment with more artistic and architectural movements in future! Love how you've had fun with opening the different levels up to each other with the dining room and walkways as well. It's something I've been experimenting with in a fantasy build I'm working on :)

It's so silly, like, they're just pixels, who cares, but I think it's just cause I adore the Addams family and I've always viewed them as the pixel equivalent of the Addams, lol Either way, I like this Goth reno a lot more than the last one in terms of fitting the characters, and have been enjoying all these reno videos lately!
I used Cassandra for the last generation of the Not So Berry Challenge as the wife to the last challenge "Berry." I had the Goths naturally start aging and so Mortimer and Bella eventually died and Alexander is now and adult that's left with the mansion. I couldn't resist playing him going to Vladdy Daddy and requesting to be turned to a vamp so that the house isn't empty of Goths. Amusingly, I'm also playing the next Berry gen under the interior designer career and due to Alexander's random preferences, the mansion is slowly getting a makeover with modern and contemporary design on the inside and Alexander evidently loves pink?

It’s been a long time since I played with this family and I redid there house too . Did it the way that they would like it and she also had a baby. They’re not really that gothic. It’s just there name and I can’t remember but someone likes purple. I was going to decorate it all gothic until I started seeing what they liked and didn’t like and what they wanted in there house so that all changed. Some things stayed the same just because I felt it was an old house and it needs to be there. Oh ya the Goths on my game also had a pet. On another save I saw where they had a little girl 😮 I hadn’t even played with them on this save so this child had no bed to sleep in when I went to go peek to see who she was😮

So there's a whole Tumblr thread of the disappearance of Bella which I won't go into much detail about, you should definitely read it for yourself. But the theory is Mortimer was behind Bella's disappearance which is why he didn't seem too sad when she left and was willing to remarry almost immediately, and Alexander knew this so travelled timelines and got stuck and because of this the Sims 4 timeline was born. Which is why Bella and Mortimer are still very much in love in TS4 whereas they weren't in TS2. TS4 is like, Alex's fever dream. Apparently Bella was pregnant with Mortimer's child when she disappeared which is why she ended up in Lunar Lake and the kid was called Mathilde and ended up an orphan in Lunar Lakes, but the reason why she isn't in any of the other games is because no one knew she existed and Alex didn't write her in.
So knowing this, and knowing TS4 was created to fix the problems of TS2 (by Alex), one thing I love doing is having Mathilde be reborn in TS4 like she was always fated to be there, and then playing around with Bella and Mortimer's relationship. Basically recreating the tragedy in a slightly different way so it's almost like it doesn't matter how many times Alex tries to fix it, they're doomed in every timeline.

I have always wanted to either renovate or find someone else's renovation of the Goth Mansion, and I feel like this is one of the best ones I have seen. The floor plan makes a lot more sense. I like how you have mostly maintained the original shape of the house. It's a pity that Alexander finally has a proper bedroom in this one, yet in my one save, Alexander randomly died of embarrassment seconds after aging up to a young adult. I just rolled with it.

I know I'm a wet blanket, but super high ceilings makes heating really expensive or just ineffective. My old dorm had a study room with double ceilings, and they got a visit from the city, because a student reported it as too cold for legal housing conditions.😅Personally, I thought it was the perfect place to wear my winter coat and take a cozy nap but I'm glad I wasn't paying to heat it.

Hot take: A packs gameplay content is allowed to suck if the build buy is especially good. The only problem with Baatu is that its a Stuff Pack sold as a game pack, The build buy is spectacular.
Stunning build. I am in awe that you could do this without increasing the budget and making it available for everyone! Absolutely love the walkway! In a house I've seen IRL with that kind of design, they had like a long hanging light on both sides of the bridge, it felt really fancy. Also a big aquarium!

Wouldn’t it be cool if they did a birthday kit pack. Now that something since-able for a kit! They can have the void critter Thame or just keep it simple with some stand along balloons and some cute birthday cakes 🧁 🎂(similar to the cakes they did with the cupcakes on this new pack) and a bouncy house maybe a birthday banner and party hats 🥳 and maybe and birthday table with sets that match and a gift table that you can actually open gifts 🎁 ( like they did for seasons. But Tailored to that kit) that would be a good pack and you can’t even mass that up… welll🤷🏽♂️
I really enjoyed your exploration of brutalism, it would be cool to see you experiment with more artistic and architectural movements in future! Love how you've had fun with opening the different levels up to each other with the dining room and walkways as well. It's something I've been experimenting with in a fantasy build I'm working on :)
I'm always so weirdly irked by Deli's read of the Goths for some reason? It's so silly, like, they're just pixels, who cares, but I think it's just cause I adore the Addams family and I've always viewed them as the pixel equivalent of the Addams, lol
Either way, I like this Goth reno a lot more than the last one in terms of fitting the characters, and have been enjoying all these reno videos lately!
I used Cassandra for the last generation of the Not So Berry Challenge as the wife to the last challenge "Berry." I had the Goths naturally start aging and so Mortimer and Bella eventually died and Alexander is now and adult that's left with the mansion. I couldn't resist playing him going to Vladdy Daddy and requesting to be turned to a vamp so that the house isn't empty of Goths.
Amusingly, I'm also playing the next Berry gen under the interior designer career and due to Alexander's random preferences, the mansion is slowly getting a makeover with modern and contemporary design on the inside and Alexander evidently loves pink?
