The RT isn’t going to excite too many people when your channel has had a scat pack, hellcat, 1000hp mustang and a Demon 170. The ZL1 Camaro would be a great car for the channel.

I love my R/T 5.7. It beats the snot out of most of what's on the road. It runs great on 87 and gets really good hwy mileage - I get over 30mpg. This is a great car if you want something that looks fantastic, very retro muscle car and doesn't cost a fortune. I'm tired of hearing all the SRT snobs knock this trim. For a daily driver, I don't want the headache and expense of an SRT.
A guy that races an rt at my track runs mid to low 12s consistently. I am stoked for the rt crowd!
You don’t get a knocking sound running 87? 89 should give you better performance and fuel economy, and should eliminate any engine knocking.
Love my R/T. All the bells and whistles. Great daily driver. Love the exhaust note.

I get 14-16 mpg in town 28- 30 on the highway.

That’s who ordered his Demon 170. I bought 2 Hellcats there that they ordered for me and didn’t add anything on MSRP. All the other dealers in area jack up prices huge.

It's your money and channel... but you asked for input. The challenger is a 16 year old vehicle - they get less exciting every year, we see them everywhere. I love my RT challenger, I love Plum Crazy (even though those embarrassing yellow shipping bumpers are still on for some reason), and this is a good price for the machine. If you did buy it, I'd be interested in seeing videos with a step by step process of building up the power on it, but honestly - we've already got videos of that stretching back to '08 model year. I'm already a subscriber - I don't know how much new traffic this car could attract.
If you're looking for a redirect - would really love to see other SRT vehicles. Crossfire, Magnum, SRT-10 Truck, Viper... maybe not the SRT-4's. Maybe a Prowler, though. Something different, something we haven't seen a ton of on the roads.

My dealer said the yellow bumper thing was to indicate that it isn't just an SXT. It's a trim indicator. That all trims except the SXT have it. But I didn't like it regardless of what it was supposed to mean so I took it off mine.

Here's Mark Trostle, Dodge's head designer's input, ""This is the final word: When we did the sketch for the Charger and Challenger, it never had yellow strips on it. I wish they would take them off. You're just ruining the paint, and they say to be removed by dealer. It's molded in, it's there to ship the vehicle. To me, as a designer, it ruins the lines of the car."

I've got mine already. 2023 Challenger R/T, 6-speed manual, Destroyer Gray with the Blacktop package.
Not a good deal. Kernersville dodge in NC is selling RTs with alpine sound and automatic trans for $33.5 brand new no miles
I did it myself last Saturday haha. Traded in my RAM that I didn't need anymore and got a 5.7 Challenger with the Blacktop package in the killer blue. And it was priced very well. I think it was like $14k off, but some of that was a returning customer loyalty credit. Fittingly, also from the service loaner program, so it had 600 miles on it. The Blacktop Last Call badging for my R/T has the 345 badge on the side, and I was surprised by how cool that looks in black over the blue. I would love to follow an R/T build from your channel, specifically.

For real. I was in tampa buying a durango recently and scats were still priced through the roof. The only upgrade id consider from my 19' scatpack would be a widebody superbee and i looked at one it was over 70k 😂

It's very good to see prices coming down. This will take pressure off the used car prices too (already happening). But a lot of "dumb money" out there bought into the scarcity model and now they're going deep underwater.
I think a R/T would be awesome for the channel everyone hates on them but there the affordable mans muscle car 5 second 0-60 amazing looks and not mention with the right exhaust it is one of the best sound v8s out there it’s more relatable to all of us guys that aren’t rich driving around hell cats and demons and btw since when is 375hp and 410 lb-ft weak or slow ! I say buy it build it make it awesome

I REALLY LOVE YOUR STICKING WITH A DODGE CHALLENGER FOR YOUR CHANNEL.
That’s because l own a 2022 Challenger RT 5,7 in F8 green paint.
There’s a bunch of 5.7 Challenger owners that will eat up that content.
Plus you will be getting the 170 back and sure that content will get eaten alive too.
So you will cover Dodge Challenger fans from both ends of the spectrum. Everyone’s happy.
Don’t underestimate yourself. This could be the idea that turns things around.
A channel with 5.7 content is overdone ,but you will be covering all the bases with a eye popping170 PLUS the RT for “Low key” Challenger fans.

Get it I own an 2018 RT it's a great street car modify it to show us regular guys what works on the street.
I like the Camaro idea better, but that RT is a great deal. Although, if your adding power, the LT4 would be cheaper dollar per hp.

Camaros are nice but very visually restrictive and somewhat of a pain to get in and out of! It’s the reason why I went with a challenger before. Getting a RT for a SXT price is something I wouldn’t skip over of! But hey do what you want and consider is great for your channel it’s your money as well bro!

Very cool, RacerX... If you buy the 2023 Plum Crazy Challenger, I will watch all the videos you make on that, especially when you bump up the HP. I heard there's a superstock lower airbox at AFE for a quick, easy cold air intake upgrade! You can up the diameter on the throttle body and get spacers, too.
Definitely go with the lt1 camaro x
Would love to see what you can do with the RT as I had a plum crazy RT myself back in 14. Always wound up feeling less than the SRT guys, would've been nice to surprise one or two on the streets.
Go ahead and buy the challenger R/T, supercharge it with a big cam and headers! I have a 2019 charger pursuit 5.7 AWD (basically a 2014 Charger R/T AWD with the 2015+ body style/electronics). It does great in the snow and has a perfect balance of power for a cruiser!
I had a 2021 Scat Pack and also a 2023 R/T. If I were to buy another, I'd go grab one of the R/T's they are blowing out. The Scat was fun of course, but honestly the R/T hooked up much easier. It still sounded badass and was pretty quick. Definitely had the look!
I know you're friends with people from dodge but if you're not careful your gonna let them sale you into bankruptcy! I believe after buying a 170 for way more than they'll ever be worth then the engine being bad right off the bat would put a really bad taste in my mouth for that car brand or any brand for that matter. J s please be careful brother!

He is a six figure professional who is smart and other than cars probably doesn’t blow a lot of money. He has lived in relatively lower expense parts of the country. Most likely his wife works. He probably has great credit. And with RUclips it’s possible the cars are under an LLC or small business which means tax breaks.

Just got a great deal on an optioned out RT T/A. Sticker was over 61k , paid 46,500. Stellantis rebate was 7748 plus the dealer discounts. If you have good credit you can finance it for about 6% interest.
You can actually still even lease a last call 23 R/T. Leasing will probably end when the 25s come out. They are trying to get them off the lots. Just look closely at the paint. They have been sitting for a while now.

I like the idea of the R/T, especially if you can find one in a color you like. I'm a Scat Pack owner, but I like the idea of seeing the mods you could do on an R/T. Good content for your channel, I think.
Do the LT1. I traded my charger RT for it. You can find them for around the same price. You can throw a ton of bolt ons at it.

The R/T will make a nice daily driver. The supercharged vehicles eat gas like crazy and are weekend drivers. Love my 2020 Scat !

Plum crazy is my favorite. I've almost bought an RT a few times, but their unreliability just always scared me away. That and it kinda drove like a boat. I think I like the idea of it more than the car itself haha.
If you’re going to make it into a project car . I think the RT would make some quality content for a long time. Either make it a Killer sleeper/ street car. Doesn’t have to the obvious boosted route either, it could be N/A but extremely well set up for 1/8 mile stuff. Or it could be set up to be a killer GT car/ cannonball run car. Something capable of driving NY to California at 110 mph in total style and comfort . At under 35 Gs I’m tempted to do something like this myself .

I think the RT is a great choice. Honestly if you did a build on any of the Mopar vehicles with the 5.7 would be good to see. 300, Charger, Challenger, Durango, Jeep im tuned.

Good idea to use hemis as loaners with so many sitting. After driving one for a bit I think quite a few people become potential buyers.
Hey buddy, in my opinion I think that you should get the R/T and do a mod build on it. You seemed very excited about it and I think you would benefit greatly from it. I hope that the 170 gets back soon. I imagine that deep down you’re a little disappointed with it, but I think you have the knowledge and experience to mod a R/T. Is this channel about racing or modding? You've already got the top-tier Challenger. You've had a 1,000HP Charger, and wasn't your Mustang a twin turbo? I recommend the Camaro ZL1 1LE and take it on track somewhere. I'm not a huge Chevy fan but the ZL1 is awesome if a bit hard to see out of. Either that or a TRX.
Just bought mine $30k plus taxes and tag! Best deal on the market in years! 2023 r/t with 400 miles. Only option was automatic.

I don't like the sound of the R/T 5.7, but you can do a lot with them and they're fun to build. You should do a manual 5.7 or a 6.4 build.

Might be a good idea. Pretty soon as dealers lower all these younger people will be buying these and checking out RUclips for stuff to do to them-so it might be a good time to get ahead of everyone realizing there’s going to be another go around on modding these cars. Plus there’s more mod suppliers now. The purple is awesome in person. Especially in Florida. The way the sun hits playful colors here just makes them stick out. I’d buy a yellow corvette here in Florida but i wouldn’t in NY.
On multiple occasions the 6.4 put about a car length on my stock 5.7 up to 120-140ish ( in Mexico). My 87 Buick gn leaves both far behind.
I think the performance driving world, especially the American V8 enthusiast crowd I'm part of, has gotten super lazy and reliant on 8-10-speed automatic transmissions, tap-screen launch modes and other do-it-for-you tech. I say go the other way and think Ronnie Sox and Herb McCandless. For me, having been lucky enough to own and drive 440-6 and Hemi powered 60/70s cars, I would love to see the infamous RacerX do a retro A-body or B-body build with a modern drive train (Scat or Hell -I will forgive an 8spd but would relish a 6pseed).No touch screens allowed! @RacerX, I root for this because even though others may have done so, you have the ability to deliver the process cleary and concisely. I love my RT and I'd love to see what you would do with an RT. Great daily driver, that's still fun to drive. But like what other people have said, I'm not sure if it's a smart "channel decision".
I’m thinking of getting my first challenger and waiting for the price announcement of the straight 6, but I have a feeling it will be out of my range just like when I tried an rt charger in 2010. I’ll have to settle for a used sxt but what year to choose. I hear lots of issues with 2022 and up versions

I had a base model (the base-est...the only option listed was Frostbite paint for $95 😄) 2022 R/T 6-spd and it was great, but I always found myself coveting the 6.4L, the Plus package, the Technology group, Performance Pages, etc. so I "traded" up (I didn't trade it in, I sold the R/T, then separately bought a fully loaded Scat Pack). The question is, do you want 6-spd or auto?

The Last Challenger Was A 2014, All Pen-stars, And I Adored Them All.

Paul, get the Plump Crazy RT. It looks awesome. I might fly over there and get it from under you if you don't. 🤣 Seriously, you're right in the sense that it's a street car and not a race car. My old 2014 slightly modded V6 Mustang raced two RTs and beat them both. I was pushing out about 340 hp in that V6, but weighed about 600 lbs less than the RT, which is why I won. Regardless, that Plum Crazy RT looks cool so get it!
The Lakeland Dodge dealers got a sublime RT with a 6-speed and the handling package that gets brembo brakes for like 31k that wasn't a loner. That I'm thinking about picking up
Racer how much are the scat packs going for at your dealer? I am in a south Florida.
The in for repair/service loaner program is being implemented at MANY CDJR dealers. It's a way to get unsold new cars off their financial accounts. Dealers then can pay less on the loans due to their financial brokers. Then dealers will do the add ons and recoup their interest payment losses. Im surprised Courtesy isn't participating in the add on gotcha games!
By the way... that's a LOT of yellow stickered loaner cars that were NOT SOLD! Well yet anyways.

What is your opinion on hood pins? I have a hellcat redeye wide body and I want to put hood pins on it.people are telling me that it will lose value.can you pls give me your thoughts
I say do it and if you can dyno after every performance mod to show people what some parts really do or don't do for you.
I'm seeing Scats advertised for that money and R/Ts at 25-26k. They are two model year old cars now and will drop 30% in value as soon as you drive it off the lot.
And R/T build would be sweet! If you're on the fence because of 2 Challengers, get a Plum Crazy Charger instead! Could go a long way doing a build series on that thing all the way up to a boosted widebody and there seems to be a large 5.7 following.
