That's why he gets booed so often, he can't fool the crowd. How do you define greatness, by amount of titles? Yes, he got the biggest amount, but the crowd (apart from his fans) doesn't like him. Its also about what you do for the sport, how you play the game and how you carry yourself. Federer is by far the most influencial player the sport has ever seen, both on and off the court. Djokovic is 4th, behind Nadal and Sampres as well.

I think a lot of times on smashes he has a weakness with the wind or sun which causes him to hit the infamous djokosmash because he doesn't feel confident hitting through the ball. Of course everyone has to deal with those factors but I feel like they affect novak more than other people for some weird reason. This is indoors so if my theory is right then you wouldn't see him have that problem here.
The only reason I think this is because there are so many times where i see him hit a smash like he has no idea how to swing fast and just destroy the ball, but other times he smashes with a lot of power with no issue at all. There would be no reason why he is so inconsistent with his proficiency other than outside factors such as sun glare or wind.

I think he sees what many of us see: That Rune is going to be the "top guy" of his generation. And so he wants to play his best matches against HIM while he's still playing. I know Alcarez is being talked up as the one to be at the top for a while... but something about it all tells me that Alcarez has already REACHED his peak at a very young age and we're seeing him at his best now. Rune gives the impression that he actually has quite a bit more room for improvement despite already playing at the top of the game. Much like Djokovic at his age.
