Ah the memories, 22 years old and a Jr at Texas Tech University, dang, being a young man through the '80s was such a wonderful time to be alive and truly the best times of my life. Now, 60 and still enjoying this music and I close my eyes and see myself walking to class through campus with my loafers, corduroy brown pants and short sleeve shirt my momma bought me for school and longer hair styled with wings to the sides, ah man, the memories, where did all that time and youthfulness go? Love and Peace everyone.
@@graysonbr Ah man, the best of times and music. Living through the '80's was an experience in itself, we were so very lucky, wouldn't have any other way. We had a great time, didn't we?
The days of no online exams. Lucky you. I hated online exams. It was like being a guinea pig in a big experiment where professors were tech clueless. I had two professors delete major class exams where we all had to retake them. This was around 2011. I guess it was probably a pain in the butt to have to write papers back in the 80's. Like you must be super familiar with the Dewey Decimal System. Ha ha! You probably weren't remotely thinking of the actual assignments as you wrote out your awesome memory in this comment. Meanwhile, I think I've got to Google 80's corduroy brown pants.

@@aqueenceereid4249 Racism? In my country we made fun of foreigners and it was ok cos they made fun of us. No one cared and got hypo about stuff like that.
I’m a 30 something that grew up listening to this music. Oddly enough, I developed a deeper appreciation and love for 80’s music when I started working at 16 at a Kmart. We had several loops that would play during the day and this song always came on around close. I’d walk around doing go-backs and I’d find a quiet aisle or corner whenever this song came on and I’d just listen. I’d dream about finding someone who could feel this way about me. It took me away to a magical place that was the polar opposite from my reality. I was being abused by my parents at the time and music was the only escape I had. I was denied my childhood and teen years. I’d sit there and let the song get embedded in my mind and dream about floating across a dance floor with the man of my dreams. (They took my prom too.) I worked at Kmart for a number of years. When I started dating, I dreamed of the guy I was dating at the time. He was magic. He was fire. Maybe he dreamed about me. I married that guy and now...this song just hits different. It reminds me of a time when everything was carefree and all I worried about was when I’d see him again.
Growing up in the 80's was such a wonderful time in my life. Songs carried deep heart felt meaning. Now 2023 , listening to this song still holds many sweet memories. God Bless You , Thank You for sharing.
Yes but I'm old school yes not the 80s old school goes back like late 40s going from their 50s and 60s then the 70s that is old school mom and dad were from that time up to the 70s because mom and dad their pass history
What a prolific talent Dan Hartman was, gone way to soon! The 80’s were a blast, when we danced just for the heck of it..the music was a refuge and the talent was phenomenal! I can listen to this song over and over again.
I agree, but I'm sure that's intentional. If you give a song everything in one listen, you just listen and get what you want and move on. But when you just want your favorite part one more time and then before you know it you've listened to it 5+ times for it, that's what's creates replay value.
This is one of the greatest songs! Instant mood elevator no matter what emotions I'm experiencing. Dan Hartman's voice was definitely one of the stand alone greatest~ #ICanDreamAboutYou
I was 11 years old when this song was released. Deep sigh!!! 😞 I don't even bother to listen to today's music which can't hold a candle to the music I grew up listening to (in my opinion).
The 60s, 70s and 80s were a magical time to be alive for me. Looking back on it all, i can honestly say i feel blessed to have been there to see it all. Best times of my life.
I genuinely love 80’s music. Born in ‘86 so I only got a small window of pop culture. Been here listening over and over since I first heard this hit recently play in the film Air. What a rush this song causes, unreal. Y’all were the real ones that listened to this work back in real time, I sorta envy that.
I remember watching Danny practice when he was in my neighbors backyard practicing in the local Band. His talents were already happening as a young man. I was a struggling young kid trying to learn to play the guitar. THX Danny you inspired me! Only in PA.
Hello... Is he buried along side his family...?? Not much is there about his life.. no men have came out..stating that they knew him.. He was really a good singer and record producer... 🙏

Summer of 1984 had some amazing music. The whole year really, was filled with great songs and albums. As a young teenager at the time, this music really evokes such an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia, I can feel the summer of '84 all over again hearing this song.
I was 22 when this song was released. Still a young man and had my life ahead of me. I wish I could go back in time and undo some of the mistakes I made back then. My life would be so much better now.
If I went back in time I'd probably make worse mistakes than I did in the past and hurt more people in the process while trying to fix things that can't be fixed. Sounds trite but we're here today and got tomorrow,
The VMA's were just on the other day and the 'artists' are anything but artists. The music is just terrible. So I checked out the Top 100 from 1984 and saw this song... a great song that everyone could listen to, young, old, white, black etc... A song for everyone w/o any hate, violence or division.
Yeah so very best ever my friend Kim 😊 and I pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days, and I hope God bless you to have a great day today, I'm Roy from Happy camp California. Where are you from ?
This reminds me of my husband Gareth. We were together for 34yrs until I lost him to pancreatic cancer in 2020 at 58 yrs old. Love you Gar- miss you love. ❤❤
This may be an '80s song, but it sounds timeless. It's got hints of Motown, disco, funk, synth-pop, bar-band rock, like it's the ideal synergy of pop music.
I must tell y’all that the Summers of ‘84-‘88 were something special. I wish I can find a time machine and go back while retaining the same knowledge and wisdom. I can truly say it was a stress free era.
this was during an era when music represented hope and inspiration, unlike today's music which represents retaliation, attitude and bitterness....anyone got a flux capacitor?
My sister says that sometimes, when she listens to old music, she imagines living in a better time, even though she was born in 2003. Listening to music like this, I understand what she is talking about.
It was just as good as she remembers, although she was never there. The president ate jellybeans, the world was becoming more free, and we were less afraid than we ever will be again.
Great song 40 years later.

Born in 68 !!! Excellent '80s!!!!
Just my opinion, but this is one of the greatest 80s songs recorded

@@ChuckFinley785 No argument there, brother.
I remember it! I just turned 50, I think I was a young teenager when this song dominated the radio

Wanna go back in time when good music and good life is simpler!
Same here sixties now, where did the years go!
👈👉 was heading to Tech that Fall....great music back then wasn't it!
@@graysonbr Ah man, the best of times and music. Living through the '80's was an experience in itself, we were so very lucky, wouldn't have any other way. We had a great time, didn't we?
That's just class....great memories indeed!
I'm here 👋 July 16th 2024 Awesome song, by Dan Hartman- RIP, I would have been just 15 yrs.old when this was released on April of 1984, Wow 😳 what a time to be alive the 80's. 🤔😎👌👍🎵🎶🔥❤️🙏🙌🙏😔

Yeah for sure a CooL summer time tune, back then I was 14 years old, great memories tied to this song memories I won't ever forget even if I get Alzheimer's
Dan Hartman wrote and performed this summer hit of 1984 that is a wonderful masterpiece.

The love of good music should bring all of us together, listening with our heart and soul and instead of using our eyes, often times vision is superficial and biased,...that’s my Hispanic/Navajo opinion.
I was born in 1978 but will always claim to be an 80s baby. The music, the style, the movies...that whole Era was just such a vibe. I miss it.😢
Being an 80's kid was so awesome, I miss those days❤ classic music

Dan Hartmen vocals just mesmerise me , his voice is so dreamy its just breathtaking, he just had that X factor . Wow what a talent he was🎉🎉🎉.
The 80's were the absolute greatest Era to live in.
Yes it was
We were soooooooo lucky Steph!! Class of '87 here!!❤
Dan Hartman was so talented, one of my favorite songs of the 80's.
Damn I’m sorry people hurt you like that. Glad you found an escape from it all, at least through music.
People can find a way out of anything. I'm glad you did too. May we all be as fortunate as you. I hope this finds you well
Beautiful 🥰
This is one of those songs that makes you happy and reminisce at the same time. Doesn’t hurt that he had a gorgeous voice.
Ahhh the 80's...real music, real friends and no social media. It wasn't just an Era in time, IT WAS A MAGICAL REALM!!

What a prolific talent Dan Hartman was, gone way to soon! The 80’s were a blast, when we danced just for the heck of it..the music was a refuge and the talent was phenomenal! I can listen to this song over and over again.
I wish the verses were longer than a few seconds. The tune/beat are unbelievable!
I agree. Very nice sound.
Verse melody is way better than the chorus melody
I agree, but I'm sure that's intentional. If you give a song everything in one listen, you just listen and get what you want and move on. But when you just want your favorite part one more time and then before you know it you've listened to it 5+ times for it, that's what's creates replay value.
I really love this song Dan Hartman.
This song was on my mind today.
Dan Hartman is terrific artist.

The 80s music will never be surpassed. Even gets better as the years roll by.
I know. Their song writing, and singing are so pure. You can relate ino matter where you come from ..
Also movies. Sometimes they went hand in hand. If you had a Kenny Loggins song in your movie, guaranteed to be a hit.
You had to be there Mr. Youngun.

Only in PA.
Pretty cool knowing or watching young Dan parctice...

Hi
This may be an '80s song, but it sounds timeless. It's got hints of Motown, disco, funk, synth-pop, bar-band rock, like it's the ideal synergy of pop music.
He was into all those styles of music

you are absolutely right :)
