    Excellent! Thank you for making my install easy. I encountered most of the situations presented in the video, especially the "do not disassemble" part; however, watching this took out the suspense of the install. Great video. keep up the great work!

    Good Video,.. hope I never need to do this, but was interesting to see that apart.. I have a 350Z as well,.. and it's interesting to see every little part, as you never know what you'll have to do in the future. Did you ever have to replace it again because of that plug, or know what it went to at least?

    • @Z33Garage
      @Z33Garage  10 лет назад

      Thanks! I did not have to replace the back section of the clock spring, as that is another connector in itself. I looked it up in the factory service manual and it does show 2 part numbers, one seems to be for the horn connector or something of that sort, though that piece does not seem to be the main failing part so many Zs are plagued with. I can report though, that the the airbag light has been off since the install and all components that are on the steering wheel are working as they should.

  • @xxcody90xx41
    @xxcody90xx41 7 лет назад

    when you pulled your old one off it has that cover on it. when I pulled my factory oem assembly out it does not have that. car has 120k miles and I'm the only owner. so I do not think it will affect anything. I'm replacing mine as I type this so I don't know if my new one has the back or not.

    Hi I know this is an old video but hopefully you can still respond I’m curious if the new clock spring comes already centered from the manufacturer if you could help me with this I would appreciate it thank you

    • @Z33Garage
      @Z33Garage  4 года назад

      From what I could tell it does come somewhat centered. There is a plastic tab in place that holds it centered. You might have to move it a tad when you install the steering wheel but it should be as center as possible.

      I had that same problem. Order the clock spring and that part didn't come with it. And on the original it says don't use the old one, but I had to. It's supposed to be the steering sensor. When I drive, my sip light comes on and the car starts breaking and doing a bit of a skid. I ordered another one from z1 motorsports and it came without that other part as well.

    • @Z33Garage

      The horn not working is one of the primary signs of a bad clockspring, along with the airbag light blinking

  • @ghostaholic

      da ruski was it new? You need to do the relearn procedure

    • @ghostaholic
      @ghostaholic 6 лет назад

      Yup, brand new (not OEM). Relearn procedure? I did the "reset" that you did at the end of this video, switching it to diagnosis mode and back. But after I did that it stays on for 7 seconds, off for 3 seconds, on for two, off, then flashes twice for 0.5 seconds. Thanks for the quick response by the way.

    • @Z33Garage
      @Z33Garage  6 лет назад

      da ruski hmm this is odd. I am not home now to check the manual to see what those pulses mean. I also remember reading that there is another control module that can fail besides the clock spring. I just dont rememeber the name.

    • @Z33Garage

      Jenny Drake in some cases yes. If I'm not mistaken, the radio controls piggyback on the coil cables, so if the cable fails the radio controls , airbag, and horn can fail
