    i march drumline and ear plugs are a must have

  • @sulfuro0503
    @sulfuro0503 Год назад +7

    You are using wrongl the earplugs. In order to offer a good protection you have to roll the earplug until it gets thin in order to insert in the ear canal, then with the help of a finger retain the plug in palce until you percive a muffled sound. Try to look in front of a mirror, if you can see the earplugs sticking out you are not inserting as they are supposed to.

    I got custom ear plugs from the hospital made by westone, they were like $120-$150 which is quite expensive but it’s worth every penny. They are so goddamn comfortable i sometimes just leave them in my ear on accident while I’m talking to someone during a break. I’d recommend you try the custom plugs and make a video on it cuz even though they don’t have variable filters (which sound so badass) they still have several decibel filter options if you go with a musicians plug company like westone

      How do I go about getting a custom pair of earplugs made? Do you live in the U.S.A.? Can I get multiple made for working construction as well as another for concerts?

    • @bobbirdsong6825

      @@CVNTGETENOUGH Look for audiologists in your area, they might be in hospitals or in their own clinics. Hearing specialists usually have experience with at least one or two companies so you should research all the ones local to you.

    Hey Adam, could you also talk more about the occlusion effect of wearing ear plugs? Would singing while wearing regular plugs hurt our ears?

    • @AdamTanPercussion
      @AdamTanPercussion  2 года назад +3

      I don't think it does if you have earplugs that aren't fully sealed e.g. adjustable filter musician earplugs

      @@AdamTanPercussionThanks! what about regular foam?

    • @AdamTanPercussion
      @AdamTanPercussion  2 года назад +1

      @@TheGeorgesHabibPodcast regular foam might hurt as you'd be plugging up fully sealed and there isn't much escape especially in high density construction kinds

    The problem I have with bari sax is even with earplugs, the resonation in my sinus cavities is very loud.

    Too expensive. Though I'm music producer, I don't often play loud nor go to loud events, but getting ringing with certain frequencies especially while speaking on a phone (1-4khz I guess). Was thinking if sometimes I can use cotton balls when need?

    Just noticed that The casing of mines came with the little red puller wrapped with little paper and clear tape.
    I bought two packs and one pack was making noises . I emailed minuendo and asked for some solution and got a replacement pair. Fresh from the box these new ones also came with the little red zipper puller of the case wrapped in paper and clear tape.
    I wonder if they send me used ones all these times and maybe that’s why one pair made noise
    I emailed them again about this issue and waiting for and answer

    You are obviously wearing them wrong. you need to roll foam earplugs thin before inserting them into your ears, so it can then expand in your ear canal.

      The only thing I don’t like about loop is they make brass instruments seem really loud. They are still quieter, but French horns and euphoniums resonate in a very noticeable way with them.

      Well.....I mean, you ain't wrong. But in all fairness, it's there for completion. And some folks can leave their common sense at home by mistake sometimes. 😆😆😆
      Then you got those moments where you know _that_ something is important, but you can't quite articulate _why_ . I've been there a thousand times. I knew standard protocol, but I didn't understand why. Lol.
      Plus, it's helpful to remind some reckless folks, or others who may wanna take the Beethoven challenge. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

      There ain't no harm in it when you think about frfr. It looks pretentious, but it's really not, whole time.
      Worse case scenario, it ain't optimal. But we can forgive that imo.
