If you’re in the grocery store and they don’t have grass-fed organic, only grass-fed or organic, which should you choose? In this video, I’ll let you know.
For more details on this topic, check out the full article on the website: ➡️ drbrg.co/3XChKTc
US Wellness Meat: grasslandbeef.com/
Grass-fed vs. Organic:
Organic
• If something says its 100% organic, then it’s organic
• If something just says organic, then it’s 95.99% organic
• Organic means without pesticides, antibiotics, hormones, or biosolids (sewage sludge)
Grass-fed
• There is no legal definition of grass-fed (it needs to be grass-finished)
• Grain-fed beef is heavy in omega 6 fatty acids, grass-fed is not (omega 6 fatty acids are more inflammatory, omega 3 fatty acids are more anti-inflammatory)
• Grass-fed beef has CLA, and more vitamin A and vitamin E
Ideally, you want to consume grass-fed grass-finished 100% certified organic. I personally use a company called US Wellness Meats.

So good to know. I thought all organic was 100%. So tired of being scammed by the food industry.
Well they spend enough money buying politicians to help pass the laws, rules and regulation that the food industry makes.
any brand you are using?
I know. I just watched part of a video by some guy who's in the United Kingdom saying not to buy organic meat because some of the farmers feed their livestock organic corn and organic soy which cows are not meant to have.
@@saynotohookups -
I am very interested in this video since I live in the United Kingdom, can you link the video please?
Yes that's why we really need to get back to knowing our farmers.
Man they really need to shape up the “Grass fed labels/laws”
The labels are only there to increase sales, not to help you.
Get back in line lab rat. No independent thinking!
Dario Monsta
Wouldn’t it be grass finished if it was fed grain for the 1st 13 months to gain weight, and then grass for the 14th month just for the “grass-finished" label?! They can get tricky with these labels...
Dario Monsta Wow, good to know! Thanks for the info!
@Dario Monsta thx Dario...good to know! Where do u get yours?
I like that red pen he's using, it's easy to see.
I was thinking the same thing.. Red pen is so helpful!

I have never seen the term "grass finished" on any product. If I did, I wouldn't have known what it meant.
I was wondering if 100% Grass Fed is the same definition.
Dr. Berg, i just realized i love your channel because your videos get straight to the point right when the video starts
So much to know as a consumer who wants to eat healthy and improve their health. Sometimes overwhelming with the way food is misleadingly labeled.
yup! its a legit rabbithole
Wow, Dr. Berg, I hadn't realized sewage sludge was fed to animals... unbelievable! Thanks for this valuable information.
That's why some people choose to go vegan.
This is not valuable information. This is common knowledge for years. What the heck caused mad cow disease? If you are feeding dead animals to cows mixed with grains. That is sludge. Wake up!!
But those peeps (vegans) fail to realize wheat and other crops are also fed sludge. Vegans are just as much in the cross hairs as the meat eaters. It is a sad world as there is no fully safe ground.
They also use the sewage sludge as a low cost fertilizer for produce! This is one of the reasons produce doesn't have the nutrients it should. Our body's take what nutrients are available and pass the rest and that gets used to fertilize our crops.
pure animal-cruelty
Instead of all the"labels" show animals and plants the respect they deserve with proper clean organic food and water before humans consume them! ....Oh and clean proper technologies would also help the rest of our 7.5 billion and growing activities each day!
Yep. If they would just start of feeding our food with high quality ingredients we wouldn't have the added expense of buying everything organic bc it would just be the standard. I blame the FDA and people who say it's okay to use sewer sludge in my food.
@@chaosswa-ee-ty5911 do you know why organic food cost more ?
5 years later Dr. Berg will have a video about 100% synthetic meat

Ever heard of Celebrity Sausage? It is made with lab grown meat with celebrities dna spliced in. Dr Berg should do a video now. I would like to here his take on it.

WOW! What a great, helpful video! I have wondered about the difference between organic and grass-fed but have never heard or read anything. Thanks for informing me!
I like how you break it down in all your videos. I never even thought of it. Thank you. Dr berg.
Organic can be corn feed, and I saw it on packaging. On another hand, I live in Ireland and all beef is on the pasture 24/7

There’s a question that I have thought of but I never thought to ask you, Dr. Berg. Thank you, Dr. Berg, for thinking ahead of me.👍🏾👊🏽🤗
Sounds like he is trying his best not to burst out laughing at 3:11 while talking about biosolids.
This week had thought about the grass/organic question and had a fight with the mrs about it, so v on topic!
Our cat used to eat dog’s biosolids, pigs do as well, not sure it’s good for cows.
Awesome Dr Berg! Awesome! Thank you for this timely information.
This brings much more clarity, thanks so much!
Thanks Dr. Berg for this powerful information. You are a great teacher. God bless you 👍👍👍👍👍
Yes thank you Dr Berg! I have been wanting to know about this you are AWESOME!
So good! Great information to be aware of. Thank you Dr. Berg ♥️
It usually costs about $10 for 1lb of ground organic buffalo (beef a little bit less) at the local grocery. SOooo, how do us folks on a low income really eat healthy when we REALLY can't afford organic prices, much less the regular fresh/frozen vegies & meat? Why not do some videos for us ? Your videos have taught me a lot, thanks Dr. Berg !

This is very informative to understand the difference between grass fed and organic. Thanks to you providing the gift of health education, I am keen on meats and vegs to ensure it’s the best I can find. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I was really confused and picked the grass fed butter and it is expensive as well. Thanks Dr Berg for clarifying and for digging out the issues.
grass fed tastes better to me what about you
You and Thomas Delauer are my goto guys for health info and keto.
Thank you for comparing the two. I’m also wondering about grass fed vs organic butter and assuming the same answers?? Thank you Dr Berg for making these short informative tools!
Is such helpful information, I don't know how up to date it is since the video is 3 years old, but you really do need a PhD in homekeeping to navigate food preparation and processing before food even gets into the fridge! Thank you for sharing!
Great video Eric! It's my understanding that organic means they have to use USDA organic pesticides, its never pesticide free??
FlavCity with Bobby Parrish you are correct! Organic in no way means pesticides free!
They are allowed to use some approved ones (but in way less amounts than conventional farming) and never glyphosate. They are also not allowed to use chemical fertilizers. So all in all it's still much better than regular, conventional farming methods. Biodynamic farming is even stricter.
I was JUST thinking...hmm what would Bobby say about this? Because I swear by you and your take is a little different. Thanks for commenting!
Loooooove your channel Bobby!!!
Iv been eating the Kirkland Signature 100% grass fed patties but now I’m thinking maybe I should avoid it. What do you think about those frozen patties?

So do I. Can find organic OR pasture raised. Never organic AND pasture raised (grass fed and hopefully finished). I usually go for organic.
Then I am not eating sewage sludge at least ..
Yes I want to know if you have to pick between the two, which is better? Organic isn't always grass fed, right?

I'm a great cook yet the grass fed. , Grassed finished is quite different type of cooking. I have experienced cooking liver and I messed it up even though I do love liver and onions, my Mom cooked it to perfection when we were kids, I loved it . Still figuring out exactly how to cook these meats. I did cook it low and slow with ghee. I will try again. Thank you Dr. Berg, much appreciate this information.
Wow... Huge free endorsement for "U.S. Wellness Meats"... Going to check it out now.
Thank you for doing this video. I think about this a lot while shopping and I mean to look it up but forget by the time I'm home. Eggs, in particular, can be annoying when figuring this out. Thank you!
So don't drink any of it...
Thank u very good info once again learn so much from u
Thank you for explaining what each one of those mean, but which one is better?
You didnt say which is better?
Have to go a long way to find Perfect! Like everything else, FDA labels confuse people! Thanks for the clarification!

I'm so glad Docs are spreading the truth about meat. The simplest way to get the meat you feel is aligned with your values is to get to know a ranch or farm or meats business that will share what they do and be transparent with their practices and their sourcing. Yes... It will probably be more expensive but cheaper is rarely better in my experience. Good luck!

Grass finished? I've never even heard the term before. I sorta did the Keto diet (it worked) and that's how I learned about grass fed. I did not eat as much meat I did the opposite. I ate a TON of vegetables, stayed away from carbs and sugar. I lost 40lbs a year ago and has kept it off because I still eat that way. I've added carbs back a few times a week and mostly still stay away from sugar. I'm going to seek out this grass finished for sure. I learned something new. Thank you Dr. Berg😊👍
