  • Butter! It’s in all of our foods but is it good for us? Well, many people think it could be but that's WRONG! It is commonly thought that butter is a great source of butyric acid, a short chain fatty acid that has “health benefits”, but the truth is that butter has very little butyric acid. On top of that, most butter comes cows that can be damaging your health. So to find out when and which butter you should be eating stay tuned because Dr. Gundry reveals everything you need to know about this household staple!

The argument about southern Europe is so ridiculous. People in southern France (southern Europe) eat tons of butter with their croissants and baguettes and enjoy long and happy life. So called "mediterranean diet" is actually a diet from small parts of Italy. It's being promoted by all kinds of crazy plant based advocates. The problem is, even in those parts of Italy, people eat plenty of "animal protein" in fish and pork. Guess who invented prosciutto, porchetta, capicola, mortadella, coppa, etc.... The other problem with this "lecture" is that no sources have been provided. Where was this study published? Was it an observational study or the randomized control trial? Opinions about healthy and unhealthy foods seem to change weekly. One day everyone says a food is good for you and the next day that same food is unhealthy. In the meantime you have changed your diet to the healthy food only to have to change back again. Nobody seems to have the right answer. The only thing to have workded is the raw fish and other raw foods that the Australian consummed when he was stuck out in the pacific on a catamaran for many days. His stomach cancer disappeared. When found the doctors were amazed at his condition and health. Maybe I need to stop eating altogether:(

This is in reference to the olive oil commercial that came on before this podcast saying olive oil is good for the skin.... Olive oil has a disproportionate ratio of oleic oil to linoleic acid; this means that olive oil can dry out the skin and does not repair the skin barrier. Moreover, a research study in 2012 discovered that olive oil can disrupt the skin's barrier and could promote the development of and increase eczema. There are so many oils out there that are good for the skin. He needs to slow down on his olive oil fantasy.

I am 60 and eat massive amounts of butter. But, I am very active, including aerobic.
I have been told that butter is the most perfect food you can eat, as long as you burn it off. I think this is the case for all dairy products. I say, go ahead and love dairy, as long as you are burning it off. As soon as you stop burning it off, it turns on you. Seems obvious.
I have stopped drinking milk (accept in very small amounts) because I can drink a whole gallon in one sitting. I like it so much that I had to quit. I also eat a fair amount of cheese. But, I try to do research on the healthiest. (Mozerella, hard cheeses, blue cheese, no bries, etc…)
Also, I never worry about the details (A1, A2, Goat, Irish, etc…) I just buy what’s the cheapest. (I do try to ear kosher.) I consider myself to be pretty healthier. I am able to run up steep hills, and surf in the Pacific 2 or 3 days a week for up to 2 or 3 hrs, with lots of paddling.
You can probably put just about anything into your body, as long as you burn it off. My my exercise tapers off, I become much more conscious of the intake. You could live on an IV of the right stop, and lay in bed all day, and still have pretty good blood, if that’s the lifestyle you want. I love the great outdoor!
