Happy Holidays everyone! I barley remembered anything about Olive the Other Reindeer so I decided to fix that by rewatching it and let's just say.. it's pretty UNDERRATED???
lost my intro to this video which sucks.. but this video ended up being longer than i expected anyways so maybe it was for the best.

haha early!
The jokes in this movie are waaay smarter and subtle than they have any right to be. The first time I understood that olive's gift in the mail truck was from Deus Ex Machina, I nearly choked on laughter. Also the reason there's no Rudolph in this movie (and most Santa movies, actually) is because the Rudolph character is still copyright protected, and wont enter the public domain until 2034. The more you know~
and the guy called round jon virgin is a reference to the lyric “ ‘round young virgin mother and child” in silent night
Woah, oh my gosh It's you! I had no idea you had a RUclips channel! I love your comic! :D Hope you have a good day ^^
I was sitting here thinking "round john virgin is a weird name" and it took me too long to realize it's a silent night pun. This movie is so good
they mention in the movie & he’s like “i don’t know what your talking about” it was hilarious 😭
Help I don’t get it someone explain-
@@NoLongerSpicey_ "round yon virgin mother and child, holy infant so tender and mild" are lyrics in silent night, "round John virgin" sounds like "round yon virgin" just like Olive's own name
is it just me or is it absolutely adorable when olive acts like a dog?
she’s so silly i love her 🤭
I get that same feeling for Brian from family guy (Im so embarrassed for saying that)
@@swampstar omg same don't worry
I thought she was a dog.
I just rewatched this on RUclips the other day 😂 "I'm a victim of oppressive corporate bureaucracy" is my new life moto
Also, about homer Simpson voicing the postman, I actually was able to tell right away cause he sounded like the robot devil from Futurama, and he's also voiced by the same guy
13:49 Did anyone notice that the package with the file in it that was for Olive was from "Deus Ex Machina"?
I had Olive on VHS taped off of TV and watched it so much, even when it wasn't the holiday season. I loved it so much.
This movie made me hyperfixate on reindeers for years. Like 3 christmases in a row I would write to santa about how badly I wanted a reindeer and I’d beg for reindeer stuffed animals 😭
I had a random memory of this movie at the beginning of the month, and wrote a note to myself on the fridge to watch it. I haven’t seen it since I was 4!!
this is your sign to watch!
this video literally made me so excited!!! this movie is a yearly tradition in my household, i never see people talk about it but it's such a comfort film
This movie has always been one of me and my family's favorites. This has always been my favorite Christmas movie of all time, no contest. Loved seeing someone talk about it and enjoy it.
Trivia: An olive doll was used in a Chilean show called "31 minutos" as a character called "Joe pino"", it was a very popular show around 2003, it was a sesame street like show but the dolls were the crew of a news show with a lot of sass. Joe pino was a special case since he was very neutral to every topic and encouraged talking about ideas and understanding each other rather than letting ideologies separate people.
I'm so glad you made a video about this movie, I've been thinking about it a lot recently bc anytime "Rudolph the red nosed reindeer" plays, every time I hear that part, "all of the other reindeer," I think of this movie. I've been meaning to watch it again
It's good to see someone else join in on Olive being a Christmas watch! This aired on Cartoon Network over the holidays when I was a little worm and so it was always a Christmas classic to me.
I watch this EVERY year around Christmas time. I love this movie so much, it's been a Christmas movie staple in my household for a good 11 years
One of my nicknames growing up was Olive, so this movie was very special to me:)
My favorite Christmas movie growing up was a very minty Christmas which SIDE NOTE she did not deserve what happened to her in that movie because she really did not mean to knock over that star :/
Honestly was not expecting tusk to be mentioned in this review but I'm here for it
I stg i just dug up the long lost memories of this movie from my childhood a few weeks ago, found the full movie to watch for Christmas, and now suddenly I've seen two or three videos made about it! We all must be on the same wavelength or something lmao
I remember this I loved it I even remember having a book of it
I remember this airing on Cartoon Network every year in December
I have a vivid memory of this movie.
I was six or seven, and it was the Noods era of Cartoon Network. We were a Christmas family, but my mom made latkes because my brother and I wanted to know what the Hanukkah buzz was about.
I distinctly remember throwing up latkes during an ad for the Chowder Knishmas special.
i didn't even know there was a movie version omg??? my first grade teacher read us this before winter break, love u mrs johnston
I remember watching this at a local restaurant on a kid’s channel.
I remember this movie as a kid. I really liked Martini he was my favorite!
"Lyric-ism? Okay, Lula" activated my OK google
LMAOO
This movie was hidden deep in my brain I’m so glad this vid was recommended. Merry Christmas!!
I love olive. She's a compelling sweet character and the movie is snappy and smartly written.
yoooo that makeup is great, like the originality
thank you!! 🫶
I watched this movie today AND I FREAKING LOVED IT, OLIVE IS JS SO CUTE OMG
This is literally one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time. I have it on DVD and even got a tree ornament of Olive when I was little (which I still have hanging in my room year round) 💜
This whole special feels like some 2D/3D hybrid Nintendo 64 game that was never released. The animation and humor both give me RareWare/Paper Mario vibes.
i have such vivid memories of this movie and its unique art style!! i really loved it growing up, we even had a little reusable advent calendar where you could set up a little scene with cardstock characters/props from the movie
I can't believe Tangled ripped off 'Not so bad' a decade later with 'I had a Dream' - Justice for Olive the Other Reindeer, you may be of questionable quality and Martini may be an antisemetic stereotype, but I somehow still end up watching you every year.
I ALMOST MENTIONED TANGLED STOP i thought maybe it was a reach 😭
I am still gonna finish it OBVIOUSLY, but I don't EVEN HAVE TO WATCH THE VIDEO TO KNOW THAT ITS GONNA BANG. CORRECT OPINIONS ONLY HERE 😤
My whole childhood right there
Olive! This used to be one of my favorite movies as a kid, and I would watch it every Christmas (and other days… all the other days…)
I'm sorry but the postman trying to sabotage Santa over not getting a trainset one year is giving me Fred Clause vibes, the villain in Fred Clause was trying his darndest to shut down Santa Clause's workshop and sabotage Fred from saving Christmas all because he didn't get a superman cape one year when he was a kid.
Just petty as hell to grow up bitter like that through all these years just to go through with a plan by getting a job you hate just to get revenge over something so trivial.
this is easily my favorite Christmas movie of all time. I regularly quote the pain in my posteriority line 😭
I remember watching this exact movie in my orchestra class for Christmas. Good times.
I remember this movie sometimes, just the memory of it will occasionally pop into my head. I remember finding it so cute!
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO MENTIONED THIS MOVIE! I thought i was the only one who knew about it!
Olive rules. My favorite Christmas special
my fav christmas movie of all time frrrr i even remember reading the book in school during reading time
I LOVED THIS BOOK OMG-
I had the book as a kid and i was obsessed!!
THIS IS MY CHRISTMAS TRADITION!!! Thjs movie was on year round when I was a kid I loved olive so much
I watched this at my grandmothers when I was about 8 and thought it was a fever dream bc I never found it again until now 😭
I WATCHED THIS A FEW WEEKS AGO, AND IT’S THE CUTEST MOVIE EVER.
These songs are a freaking vibe!!MERRY CHRISTMAS SLAYYYY
AAAA I LOVE TYHIS MOVIEEEE SO MUCH LOVEEEEE
I watched this on my birthday during music class. I think I was the only one who liked watching it
this video was SUCH a pleasure to watch it filled me w so much autistic glee. olive the other reindeer was my absolute FAVORITE movie and i watched it so often i knew every single line. i really hope more people watch it bc of your vid!! :^)🩷
classic stuff right here.
Oh my god i loved thismovie!!! Watched it every christmas season on cartoon network for years. It was the best
omg this movie was completely erased from my memory and you just brought it back
I WAS NOT EXPECTING A TUSK REFERENCE PLEASE I'VE ONLY BARELY RECOVERED FROM THAT MOVIE
I love this movie too! I've been watching it for YEARS!
OMG I REMEMBER THIS 😭
Me and my brother were just talking about how much of a modern day classic this movie is
When Olive got the metal file, I expected her to hit the Mail Man. I realized she used it to open the doors-
Also the cutest
SLAYYYY LULA XMAS VIDEO
I watch this movie every year
I thought this was a fever dream for so long hahaha
I just started the video but I have to chime in on the title of the video. I was born in 1995. When I was in Kindergarten and first grade, so, like 2000-2002; Olive the Other Reindeer was THE Christmas book. It had an INSANELY meteoric popularity for all of two Christmas seasons and then just lost all cultural relevance; at least from the perspective of a secular Jewish kid in a pretty secular environment overall. To see it labeled "underrated" is wild to me because it was, if briefly, inescapable.
i was hoping someone would make this one day.
I legit got this book on Christmas and was looking for what it was called! This was a interactive book too and now I’ll definitely have to buy it for next year!
i always loved this film as a kid and im so happy others are whatching it! fun fact its why i know what a due ex machina is
Dude I loved that book but I had no idea there was a special??? And it looks so cute too???
ADHD CHARGED COMMENT TIME So J. Otto Seibold, the illustrator for the OTOR book, created a few music videos for the band They Might Be Giants, most notably the music video for Istanbul (Not Constantinople). Given his ties with the band, to help promote the book John Linnell and Vivian Walsh wrote a lil song to go along with the book! Sung by the oh-so-mysterious Johnny Hart (COUGH COUGH John Linnell COUGH COUGH) The disc was given out with promotional copies of the OTOR book!! While the song never got in the movie, the song is up on youtube if you wanna listen to it!! It's just called "John Linnell - Olive, The Other Reindeer." :-)
i completely forgot about this movie me and my brother would watch this every year as kids i’m getting him to watch it with me this year now lol
DUDE ONE OF MY FAVE BOOKS AS A KID WAS OLIVE MY LOVE THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME OF THIS SERIES (I didn’t realize it had an animated thing or a series, wow) (is that actually the same series? It looks similar enough to make me think it is. Because it has the same “all of”/“olive” pun in the title!) OH THE RICHARD STANS JOKE TOOK ME A MINUTE HAHA “and to the republic for which it stands” these running jokes are too funny
Classic movie
I remeber this special!!
I rember
THE BRATZILLAS AND DRACULAURA DOLLL??? OKAYYY
I have only read the book and never knew it was even a movie
Its like i remember this
I don't remember watching this movie and I went into this video believing I had never watched it but some of the scenes and voices are so familiar. I don't know where or when I could've watched it though lol. It seems like a really cute movie though.
Ah man, I remember reading the book as a kid and for some reason I thought one of the reindeer *died* instead of just being injured.
I love your makeup today🫶
You should do a room tour :3
olive the other reindeer?? i haven’t heard that name in years
omg wait did you have the little highlights in your hair last vid ?? theyre so cutesy ^_^
Also, forgot to mention this movie taught me that opening mail that isnt yours is a federal offense.
I just thought about this the other day and I thought I made it up 😭😭
