- In 2012 Disney Channel released "Girl vs Monster" which follows 15 year old Skylar as she navigates the fact that she's a 5th generation monster hunter.
In 2011 the channels annual "Wiz-tober" event was renamed to "Monstober" in order to prepare for the release of the movie.
This was such a treat to revisit! I remember watching the premiere as a kid and this movie definitely still has the same charm it did to me back then going to make this a yearly halloween watch.

I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid but it somehow lives rent free in my head... its a movie I always think of when thinking of halloween and especially monstober (though the only things I remembered from it are her jumping up to fix the sign and the red head girl breaking her neck and getting possessed)
seriously one of my favorite halloween movies it is so silly

saw a tiktok abt “you had me at hello” the other day and a flood of memories came back😭 Luke’s version of the song *chefs kiss*
after i watched it i saw some tik toks about it too 😭 never see anyone talk about it so i was excited!
THIS MOVIE WAS MY FAVORITE AS A KID. I’d watch it over and over and over at my grandmas house. I was so obsessed with the songs in this movie. I remember the scene in the beginning where Ryan sings “YeAh YeaH YeaHhhh” so well. I also always wanted to do the cool jump banner thing. And the thing I remember the most was being so excited when the mean girl sings while being possessed and her voice was so amazing.
Holy cow this was buried deep in my subconscious for so long. Legit remember like 1 scene from it, and I could never remember where it was from, let alone thinking I was just making it up. Thank you for uncovering such a deeply buried memory.
