This is my favorite Christmas movie just because of the little jingle for "grandma's gonna sue the pants off of santa” 😂😂
"Grandma's gonna sue the pants off of Santa" is actually a yearly tumblr tradition around the holiday season, its always put on my dashboard by someone every December (alongside other traditions, such as Ace Attorney's "'almost christmas' means it wasn't Christmas!" And Rapsittie Street Kids' Grandma.)
I didn't see it at all last year. Didnt see grandma either. I was very sad.
It definitely comes across as a fever dream the movie. Also, the reason why a lot of people can't stand fruit cake is do to the store bought not prepared the original way as home made fruit cake. Apparently fruit cakes takes weeks to prepare by moisturizing multiple times a day . And it's not suppose to be rock hard

My favorite Christmas movie tbh. Just feels like a classic and Idk I like the funky songs. Cousin Mel and Slime's song lives rent free in my head.

i never saw this movie but we used to have this plush reindeer with a button u would press & it would start singing grandma got ran over by a reindeer while *violently flailing* & i think it used to be the funniest shit as a kid to me somehow
i remember VERY specifically asking my parents for the VHS of this when i was a kid-- i had actually never heard of it before i saw it in the store but i legit loved it when i was younger. even as an adult i can't help but appreciate just how utterly bonkers it is.
also cousin mel made me gay tbh. her character design and villainous personality was catnip to little baby lesbian me 😂
10:08 Fruitcake is actually amazing in Portugal, where I'm from (where most food is leagues above American food - which isn't hard, let's be frank). It's called "king cake" here ("bolo rei"). We also have "queen cake" ("bolo rainha"), which is akin to fruitcake, but with dried fruits and nuts. A lot of people would argue it's even better than king cake.
im sure ive seen the full movie before, but all i can remember from it is that the concept of a grandmother getting ran over by a reindeer always used to SCARE ME SO BADLY..... like idek how to explain it, but i always just felt so bad for that grandma so i never could enjoy this movie much....

NAH COME ON. There is no way anyone still remembers this 😭 I used to watch it on VHS at my cousin's house when we visited for Christmas, and "Grandpa's Gonna She the Pants off of Santa" still plays in my head for no damn reason at all. This movie ........ the lunacy. (Also, is no one gonna talk about the granny panties they threw on Grandpa 💀)
This movie was a guilty pleasure for me growing up. I just love how bizarre and absurd and camp it is. Yes, I know it’s not a good movie though. Also, Cousin Mel 👀

My grandma would get fruit cake every Christmas, but to me it literally looked and tasted like soap. I was very aware that it wasn’t soap. It was not soap! I’ve heard homemade is better though, if you do it right at least.
My favorite under-the-radar Xmas special I have to bring up is A Miser Brothers’ Christmas. It was my introduction to heavily queer-coded male characters back when I was six.
I remember watching this with my cousins once, it was so weird and I kinda forgot about it

I don't think this was originally a Cartoon Network movie. If memory serves me right, I think this aired on the WB over the Christmas 2003 season. But maybe it aired concurrently on CN as well? The song it was based on was pretty popular in the 90s, I remember singing it at a holiday concert with my school. But it has aged terribly
