The legacy is not a "dad car" or "mom car". It's a car that blends in everywhere you go. It's a car that looks just as good in a high end neighborhood as it does in a lower income neighborhood. It doesn't draw attention or look out of place. It's nice.
eli li It’s fast it’s just not the unique. Mazda 6, Kia Optima and cadenza, Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry, Ford Taurus and Fusion, and I’m sure I’m missing more, also get a 6 second 0-60.
Honestly i like the understated look. I use to be into sleepers back in high school. My car was a supercharged Buick Century that had absolutely nothing done to the outside except stickier tires.
I feel the same way about Ignition and Head2head... I am from Bulgaria, Eastern Europe and noone can make me pay for games, movies, software or carshows!
Sounds stupid but I love how plain/boring/non engaging my legacy is! I can’t be bothered with driving anymore so I just want it to be as easy, and comfortable as possible!
These guys are way off. I have one of these and it consistently puts a smile on my face. For how big it is it actually kinda scoots. And the boxer 6 cyl sounds heavenly
I had the 2017 model a few months ago and when I say that this car is so under the radar, I knew exactly where I parked, walked past he car in a parking lot and couldn't find it until I used the clicker to see that it was just 10 feet away from me in plain sight
I swapped out the grill on mine for a JDM and added a Lip + Lowered it. this made me have to park back first every time. I still walk past mine sometimes
When I bought my 2010 legacy I put a lot of thought into it. The AWD, CVT, 6 airbags, paddle shifters, and 31+mpg on the highway made it seem like the perfect car.
93remix so true I mean it’s reliable and easy to service but it’s so slow and not fuel efficient at all but is very comfortable to cruise. I’d buy one if it had a manual tbh I’d never daily a 6cylinder with a CVT.
The car to get if you want to remain anonymous. If I needed AWD I would probably get this over the Fusion Sport AWD because of the lower price and less complex engine, plus Subarus tend to be fairly reliable and safe.
If you live in the snow, this is the car. It's an affordable cruiser. You want reliability, safety, snow-ability, good resale and comfort without spending a fortune? This is your car.
I sold Subarus for about a year and everybody I sold Legacys to loved how comfortable they were and how many features you got for the money. It’s not a drivers car but the paddles help engine break in the winter is what I told customers who said the same thing you said about it being a CVT
If boring means getting me back and forth to work reliably, economically and Safe in all kinds of weather. That sounds like a smart buy. On my test drive list. Thanks.
The wealthiest drug dealer in my city drives a 93 civic. Dudes a multi millionaire, owns 3 pharmacies and has a staff of pharmacists. I think he may have gotten into some trouble recently with the opioid prescription crackdown though.
My dad ownned a 2008 Legacy GT, it was a lot of fun and he got a lot of thumbs up from people who knew what it was. He always waited for a replacement GT wagon and they never came, true shame this is what they are now.
The Visors in my WRX don't slide and I have sun in my eyes on the way to work EVERY MORNING because of it. Side note: Tim Hortons should sponsor you guys. Or at least give you free drinks!
I tend to just wear my sunglasses when the sun is too strong no matter which direction it’s coming from. If I wasn’t driving a civic I would be mistaken as a poser sometimes. Actually a civic would probably make it worst lol
I have this car 2018 and got it because I live in Colorado and needed AWD !! Love this car!! Also I don’t need a fast car because I have so many speeding tickets!! Overall so comfortable driving
I'm a huge tech geek, but i literally couldn't care less about rewinding satellite radio. Before discovering this YT channel, I didn't even know that was a thing lol. Why does Yuri prefer that sooo much?
Egan Fo it does work for my needs. My work commute is 42 miles round trip, and my father's house is 100 miles round trip. All errands I can complete in my neighborhood on foot. The Legacy is pretty ideal for my needs, but it doesn't get the blood pumping, you know?
Egan Fo I agree. I also have the 2018 Outback 2.5. The smooth application of the available power creates an illusion that it has more horsepower than it does. It’s not unpleasant to me.
This is a nice care. Practical and affordable. Subaru's have a great reputation, and their all-wheel drive system is the best in the industry. Great video!
I had a 15 and as much I loved everything about this car, the CVT made me trade it in for a civic manual, which I than traded for a wrx manual. I’m completely happy now after I acknowledged I need AWD.
This is what my Mom drives (Muskoka). There really is nothing to dislike or hate about this car. Inside or out. It doesn’t offend anyone and for people who just want a reliable (under warranty) non-attention grabber WITH an AWD and non-German ... you can’t go wrong. I only wish they’d add an estate (wagon) ‘back’ into their line-up. Great review and thanks.
My friend has a 2016 legacy, I have driven it. We have done some road trips on it And its actually very nice to drive! They nagged about handling, handling is actually pretty good.. we have tested sharp turns on v.corrugated roads and the car is soo planted! It never gets unsettled, you can chuck it in turns hard and it would surprise you with its grip and it won't bottom out on bumps! I think the suspension and handling is pretty good! It can take a lot of bashing yet remain planted!
when i drove one for 6 years it was comfortable, adequate, and slow. I only saw dads and grandpas driving them. Since then I've gotten a Golf R to compensate
I literally had 6-7 visits with my head unit in my 3.6R as it would always reset to default settings. The thing you praise the most is the biggest downfall of this car. Also, this car looks cool with black rims and blacked out windows. White car color. Also, this takes REGULAR gas and gets you 23MPG average. That’s a good thing
Finally you guys reviewed Subaru. I own 2018 Outback and it is an awesome family vehicle. This Legacy has almost exact same looks of interior as Outback.
Great review as always! Always have a soft spot for Subie's, but I just traded my old Opel Agila for a newish (1year) Astra Sportstourer. Infotainment is nice and the LED-Matrix-system is sick but it does not pass the visor test! Love it and would love to see some EUish cars reviewed by you guys, but I greatly enjoy seeing cars we don't get over here at all. Cheers guys, keep up the good work!
I own one!! 2018 legacy ice blue BLK leather bad ass, it's OK fast, but it's AWD and living in Michigan this is a much needed option. I was looking at both the legacy and the Fusion, think depreciation now you know why I went with the legacy. I really LOVE the cruise control, I cant say enough about this car, when stuck in traffic the car slows itself down to a stop then when the traffic starts moving again the car does too and back to the set speed. I also thought it was an old mans car, but after riding in it you will quickly see it's not! Over all I can't get enough of the vehicle and I am glad I bought it! can you say 100K miles or 10 years bumper to bumper warranty covering everything but the tires. why buy a FORD?

This car seems like it is targeting older Cadillac & Buick buyers who have been displaced by the new sporty demeanor they now possess. In that same respect, for the same money as the Legacy 3.6R, I take the new Regal GS 3.6 AWD instead of this.
Huh. I guess being dad-aged (no kids) helps me to appreciate that the Legacy bodywork appears to be stretched in all the right places in the front 2/3 with a modest tail end. I get the same gut reaction seeing a Legacy as I do the previous gen Honda Accord (one of the best Accord designs when compared against the newest "design"): A well balanced exterior that's pleasing enough to the eye and not edgy / polarizing enough to be an outdated visual train wreck in a few years (see "Toyota Camry"). Frankly, I see these things all of the time when I'm on the roads in the U.S. Mid-Atlantic and I appreciate them for what they are: highly practical, reliable, usable and a very smart buy for the average worker who needs reliable automotive transport across four seasons. Subaru continues to remove barriers for buyers, too, with their efforts to update their head units into the smart phone compatibility era.
Am I the only one here who never ever listens to the radio? Full of ads, most of the time its not what I want to listen to, the radio presenters are annoying as hell, the quality is horrible and so on. So the radio rewind could be something you should ask your viewers about for the future imho.
Just bought a 2018 legacy and love it. Front end looks sharp other than that the rest of it looks average. Pearl white looks so much better than the gray. On point with the comfort.
Subaru fanboy here, and I'd take the Accord. That being said, my dad has a Legacy and it is the perfect car to sit in and drive highways. The seats are mad comfortable.
Mom owns a 17’ step dad owns a 17’ both 3.6R’s. The dark blue is actually really nice looking, and it’s by the far the comfiest car I’ve ever ridden in. Not super fast but not super slow..not sure how this is slow? What 7.2 or somethin 0-60? Eh it’s good for a daily for someone like 50+
I have the 2019 and they have a lot of modifications to the exterior to make it look better. They also have some performance stuff to pick up a little more torque.
Although we've all loved watching you guys ripping around in $200k Porsches and AMGs, it's great to see you guys back in "normal" cars that most people actually buy, and are looking for quality reviews of. Well done!
Well, after a string of hot cars, it was understandable you guys review a "anonymous" car. Not to say the Subie isn't competent or a capable sedan, but no one will do a double take when it goes by. You guys make the review of the Legacy more enjoyable than the car deserves. :-)
OK. The steering IS responsive- road feel however is not what one would expect of a sports car or a sportier sedan like the Mazda 6. Handling is controlled, predictable and inspires confidence. The CVT is among the best available and does well enough simulating normal shifting while helping fuel economy. Acceleration is good- not great and probably slower than most in its class. AWD makes a significant traction and drivability difference in all kinds of weather- particularly snow and rain. Safety appears integral to its design and comfort as the reviewers stated is excellent. In adverse conditions or challenging roads- there is no car I would rather own. Visibility is among the best. Interiors are attractive, well laid out- but not opulent. The Infotainment Center is superb. As for styling-the car is handsome and conservative- competitive with older versions of the Accord and Camry. Newer versions of the Accord and Camry are sportier- but not necessarily more attractive or practical. I think its target market are families that want a safe,. predictable and comfortable sedan.
Again a car that we will see on the streets! Thank you for the mix. Never forget to come back to these type of cars. I'm trying to catch up with what is going on in the World Cup, but I was pleasantly surprised with being able to see this car on a test.
yup that's me! Thanks again for organizing the meetup. Was a lot of fun! Keep it up with the great content. Looking forward to the driver assistance comparison video and more EV videos!
I just picked up a 19 3.6r limited for a great deal because of the redesigned 2020 right around the corner. Excellent family vehicle that is quite, comfortable, safe and show be reliable (at least more so than the Atlas we were also considering). When we started looking the outback wasn’t on the radar for use, we had initially test drove only the Ascent and Forester but came back a couple days later to have another look at the Forester when I asked my salesman about discounts on the Outback. We ended up getting $7k off the Outback which sealed the deal.
I like my 2018 legacy sport, and my steering wheel controls are Matt black. I also like that the sport has black grill accent. But wish I could of afforded the 3.5l
Every single Legacy is super comfortable. There is something special they do in the suspension dept just for that sedan. It reminds me of Cadillacs and Buicks of the 90s. Just something there that as soon as you drive it, you instantly see it and smile!
Enai Nakai I think this is the most comfortable. Volvo was more of a firm comfortable but this is a soft comfort. Also being able to rest both elbows and have both hands on the wheel.
The legacy 3.6r has been clocked to go mid 6's 0-60mph on forums stock at high 14's 1/4 at 96mph. Is it fast? No but it def is not slow. 2015 Ford Focus St which is considered not slow at all and is sporty has a trap speed of 94mph according to motortrend at 6.5 seconds 0-60mph. So on the highway, the legacy 3.6r is decent. Also, this video complains about the screen that shows mph. That little screen also shows, song names, tire pressure on each wheel, compass, and navigation routes. Video also doesn't mention adaptive cruise control. So you could drive this car in traffic in cruise control and the car can brake for you and keeps a distance between cars with it's cameras. Video finally complains of the CVT. You drive any car out the there with a CVT, and this car is one of the best. Subaru makes one of the best CVT's on the market. Don't knock it until you try it.
Great review! You guys are truly great at what you do. I actually really like the more bland design of the Legacy. It just looks so sophisticated, mature, and understated. Overall, though, I would probably want to go for something more sporty (and eye-catching) like the Mazda6, Optima, Accord, or Camry. Nevertheless, from one car reviewer to another, keep up the impeccable work!
I wanted an AWD sedan for Wisconsin winters. I went with a 2016 Legacy 3.6R. It's more fun to drive than they give it credit for, but it is a heavy car. 0-60 is about 7 seconds. I refused to settle with the 2.5 liter engine for that reason which takes around 9 seconds 0-60.
I've got a 2015. I very much agree with the styling. It is an ugly car. I own older Subarus, and early gens had curves and cool design features. They LOOKED good at many angles and were interesting to look at. The Legacy is the first car I've owned that is aesthetically bland, so far as to be devoid of styling. From a distance, it's not attractive. From close up, it's not attractive. I wax my cars, and one thing one finds when waxing is working with the body shapes up close, touching and viewing from various angles. Most cars have attractive features, elegance visual and tactile. The Legacy, nope. It's immensely disappointing from afar, from up close, at any angle, and even physically. There's no nice line or shape to the entire thing...anywhere. It's actually quite weird. I do like the headlights and taillights though. That's literally the only attractive feature on the entire car, and you can only appreciate it at night...when you can't see the rest of the car, haha. Inside is not too bad. It's plain, well conservative. I'm glad I'm pre gloss black. Boy I'm so glad I'm pre gloss black. That trend needed to die 5 years ago, and I haven't the foggiest idea why it's being perpetuated, especially with literally every product review of every car with it has the reviewer complaining about it. I've never seen one person talk about it in a positive light, but...here were are, gloss black. I though the textured "brushed" black they used on the top of the center console was perfect. I thought that was an incredibly intelligent decision. It looked and felt good, seemed more upscale for plastic part, and it doesn't show dirt or finger prints. It's basically the perfect incarnation, pretty much that or simulated leather grain are probably the two best options out there, and this "brushed" plastic isn't played out like the simulated leather grain. Yep, the seats are very good. You're not the first reviewer to say so, and they're generally touted as some of the best on the market. The only cars that stand out to me as being better is Volvo, but their seat game is top tier. I'm also a big fan of the arm rest design, definitely excellent placement, very good ergonomics, and great for long drives. I'm a guy who races autocross and rallycross for fun. I have a heavily built Subaru that's above a level that would be considered pleasant in any way to drive on the road. I find the Legacy handling to be reasonably sporty for what it is. It's a comfy car, but it's also a better handling and communicative car than it should be for the market segment. I've found it reasonably satisfying to drive hard, especially with an upgraded rear sway bar that dials out most of the understeer. It's a soft car, just with a relatively large sway bar or bars if you upgrade the rear, and it's hunkered down low on its bump stops to feel and handle more sporty than the spring and damper rates would normally allow. It can be hooned and quite hard with reasonable competency. Plus it talks to you well enough to know quite well what's going on. It's not a razor sharp sports car, but it's not really a land yacht either. If performance handling is desired, a couple key suspension changes is really all that's needed. I agree on the engine. The 256HP engine is tuned for low end torque and gas mileage. A simple comparison is the Nissan VQ. They make a 3.7L that outputs 350HP, 100HP MORE than the Subaru! Subaru really neuters the power, and it's the one thing that could really wake up the car. A hot version of this engine would be a lot of fun. I think the instant punch of the low rpm torque is nice for putzing around, but I don't feel it's worth the tradeoff of what could be a much sportier car, especially with the CVT, gasp, I know. I'm saying this as a manual guy. The CVT has excellent ratios and is quite fast to get to any ratio point. It's a design that does very much use the engine's power very, VERY well. It's a product that would actually benefit from and take advantage of a high strung engine. As for the CVT. I really can't agree. I'm actually a big fan. Yes, it's a glorified snowmobile transmission. However, once you get past that and actually consider and use its functionality, it's rather impressive. It's one of the more ideal approaches to a transmission system, and it works, really, REALLY good. Yeah, the simulated gears are meh, but it's mostly because the ratios aren't really fun. They're way too tall to make sport out of the idea. The result is you may blip it once or twice, and then you're done. It's boring to use. You end up just leaving it in auto and only using the downshift as an engine brake in traffic or as a speed control down a hill. That's mostly what it's good for and little else. A simulated close ratio box would be awesome on it though. If it had ratios like the old STI 6sp, it would be massive fun. Albeit, I'm not a paddle on the steering wheel fan, and the steering rate isn't fast enough to make paddle on the wheel work well at all for anything that isn't a straight line. If Subaru mimicked a close ratio gear box, the manual mode could be a TON more fun. I don't agree with your comments on the speed. I feel they're plenty quick in function. The CVTs reaction to throttle inputs and paddle inputs are plenty fast and much faster than most standard autos. I believe Subaru says it's around 20 milliseconds, and in practice it IS this fast. I do feel the CVT is something conceptually hard to appreciate unless you perform practical testing. I think its dynamic nature hides a lot of whats going on underneath. The tuning is quite good, and the Subaru setup adjusts both CVT ratio and engine rpm at various throttle inputs and rpm ranges to generate a relatively linear acceleration experience. It's very well tuned, and you often don't realize all the adjustments happening in ratio and rpm as you speed up. As for the sluggishness in manual mode, I think it's a little bit of deception. I feel the transmission is the fast part. It's just the engine that's slow to rev or change rpm, and the drivetrain is sloppy enough where there is some time delay in the inherent rubbery bandy nature of it all. The CVT has a pretty bad stigma and quite a bad rap, but it's actually quite brilliant in its approach and function. I think it's quite underrated for what it's actually doing. I say this as a car enthusiast, a hobbyist racer, and an engineer. The CVT is just not something you are able to appreciate in a day. It's something you appreciate after using it for 3 months...and then going back to a traditional auto, manual, or any other fixed ratio form. It's hindsight that makes you realize how good it really is and what it's actually doing for you.
The Subaru Legacy's styling stands out in one area, front overhang. That's a lot of Legacy hanging out before the front wheels! Makes for a nice long hood but that's wasted space, better used for rear seat and trunk room.
The exterior looks like a Sonata and a Fusion had a love child. Would you take this, the Fusion, or the Optima, or Sonata, or Accord, or Camry, or Passat, Sentra, or Malibu... Mahk says take the Malibu. For the money, if it was a new car, I'd probably take the base Stinger.
TheStraightPipes well it looks professional AF. So I'm going to guess you will get more views. Compared to the other auto journalist channels, you guys keep up with iterative improvements. I think you both will be rewarded for your efforts. Cheers guys!
"I'd like to start this video off, with starting it off with something" - Yuri. Did you not already start the video off, by starting off the something to say how you'd start the video off.... or something?
For value I like the Legacy. Comfort for drivers is a good thing and very underrated. The new Camry is nicer, and the Accord sportier, but to really enjoy those cars you need to pay a bit extra Give me a boring Legacy, and I will be just fine.
These guys hit the nail on the head. Yes it’s is a Dads car, I have a 2017 3.6 Outback, and guess what... I am a Dad in my 50s, like to blend in with the crowd, and I love my car. These cars are not sold as fast sports cars, they are not aiming at that market. By not squeezing more and more power out of the H6 engine makes them reliable and effortless to drive, it’s a road trip vehicle for sure, you can jump in these, drive for days and be assured you’ll get from A to B with no dramas and in comfort. If your looking to buy a new car, I would never preach about these and go on and on about them, but what I would say is, don’t overlook them, it’ll do exactly what it says on the tin.
This is exactly how i feel about my dads new outback! Which I have driven a bunch. Very comfortable, quiet, fuel economic (for it's size), practical, Subaru AWD = awesome in wet, snow and other non-road conditions, great road trip car, but... its boring!!!!!!
My parents have the same car. It's perfect for them since they're retired, go on long drives and bring a bunch of stuff with them but man it's boring. There's nothing really stand out about it. It's the new Honda Accord now that the Accord is kinda cool.
Are you guys working for any known publications? I think it’s great that 2 guys can freely offer their non professional opinions on cars and call it a review. Me personally I tend to pay attention to auto journalists that work for known publications like Motor trend, Car and Driver, or even the Washington Post for that matter.
The legacy is not a "dad car" or "mom car". It's a car that blends in everywhere you go. It's a car that looks just as good in a high end neighborhood as it does in a lower income neighborhood. It doesn't draw attention or look out of place. It's nice.
0-60 in 6.3 seconds with an AWD car for less than 35k isn't considered fast?!!! I think you might be spoiled a bit.
It’s pretty much on par with other cars in this class which is the whole point of this video to show this car is not special in any way
I agree. Anything around 6 seconds is consider fast, but maybe this car doesn’t feel fast.
eli li It’s fast it’s just not the unique. Mazda 6, Kia Optima and cadenza, Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry, Ford Taurus and Fusion, and I’m sure I’m missing more, also get a 6 second 0-60.
MrNoName hell no, no way do those cars do 0-60mph in 6s
Chris they do search it up and I missed a few like Honda Accord and Civic, Ford Focus and Fiesta ST and I’m sure I’m missing even more
Am I the only one that thinks this car is sharp? They make it sound like the dullest car on the market....
Jonathan Clark I think it looks great
nope. I own the 2017 sport model and love it.
Jonathan Clark I was thinking the same thing. I have a 2015 and I really like how it looks.

I used to enjoy motor trend videos, but then their videos got way over scripted. You guys got the right thing going on
Marcolgy well we’ve never scripted anything because we don’t like the idea of that.

I would like cars to be boring if I can mod it to high hell huehuehuehue
it looks boring
but there's nothing wrong with that it's not making false "sporty" promises

Sounds stupid but I love how plain/boring/non engaging my legacy is! I can’t be bothered with driving anymore so I just want it to be as easy, and comfortable as possible!
The other day I went out for a drive and somehow found myself on cliche corner! Coolest feeling ever.
Keep it a secret 😉

When I bought my 2010 legacy I put a lot of thought into it. The AWD, CVT, 6 airbags, paddle shifters, and 31+mpg on the highway made it seem like the perfect car.
Finally back on cars we can realistically can afford 😂
a car that you could AFFORD but probably wouldn't BUY
93remix so true I mean it’s reliable and easy to service but it’s so slow and not fuel efficient at all but is very comfortable to cruise. I’d buy one if it had a manual tbh I’d never daily a 6cylinder with a CVT.
Darksyne I would never daily a CVT period
to be honest i came here cuz motor trend killed head to head. I like seeing all affordable, luxury and sport cars reviews
Ryan Jones wtf? Mt killed h2h? Why? Thats the only reason they were relevant
The car to get if you want to remain anonymous. If I needed AWD I would probably get this over the Fusion Sport AWD because of the lower price and less complex engine, plus Subarus tend to be fairly reliable and safe.
harrismi7 you’ve got the new sponsor icon for 1 month!
Is that why it changed color?
harrismi7 ya. New, 1 months, 3 months, 6 months I can customize it if you have any ideas
harrismi7, you forgot to say "cnaciba, cyka blyat!"
Heh, I guess that means it's a great car if you plan on going into the witness protection program.
Ok, no joke, the Subaru Legacy and Outback is super super super comfortable. So comfy it will surprise you. No joke. Test or just sit in one.

The wealthiest drug dealer in my city drives a 93 civic. Dudes a multi millionaire, owns 3 pharmacies and has a staff of pharmacists. I think he may have gotten into some trouble recently with the opioid prescription crackdown though.
@@angry-white-men my drug dealer wife drives a matrix... she pays the bills

This is an elegant car.

My dad ownned a 2008 Legacy GT, it was a lot of fun and he got a lot of thumbs up from people who knew what it was. He always waited for a replacement GT wagon and they never came, true shame this is what they are now.
My mom has a 2014 and you described it perfectly. Vague ass steering but super comfy.
Really? I have a 2013 and I love the steering and how heavy it is my toyota rav 4s steering is so light I like that it’s heavier on my Subaru
Idk if it’s just me but I feel a very significant steering with my legacy???
The Visors in my WRX don't slide and I have sun in my eyes on the way to work EVERY MORNING because of it. Side note: Tim Hortons should sponsor you guys. Or at least give you free drinks!
It's annoying isn't it
Especially because of the tree line and time of day. 50% chance of migraine, 50% chance of seizure.
What’s the visor test about? Always forget to ask
Tinted windows make a big difference if you don't have them. I have a rental right now and I didn't realize how much they help.
Yuri didn’t break the visor this time!👏🏻😂
This car is one of the better looking cars out of all the midsize sedans. I have no clue why you guys try to make it seem so bland.
that slow mo elbow drop!
I'm a huge tech geek, but i literally couldn't care less about rewinding satellite radio. Before discovering this YT channel, I didn't even know that was a thing lol. Why does Yuri prefer that sooo much?
im the same way, after the free year who even subs to radio
It's pretty cool to rewind and hear the great part of a song over and over.
People have fav stations to listen to with daily commute at the same time and radio shows colliding...
Looks like a Japanese Ford Taurus
Highbatros Yeah, especially the grille. Looks very generic.
Best Legacy - ‘05-09 hands down! Turbo, luxury interior and great looks! Miss the Subaru trying to be kinda luxury days
I agree! Currently trying to find one for close to $3k
Well actually imo it would be 2009 - 2014.
I feel personally attacked. Source: I own this car, and every observation is on point, unfortunately. Good daily driver but lacking any character.
Neckbeardo but it works for you. That's how I feel about CVT. I know lots don't care for them, but I have zero complaints about the CVT in my Outback.
It’s not unpleasant to me.
how to fix that
step 1. Nameless axleback exhaust
Step 2. enjoy.
Alex Peguero did you have to replace the CVT or what happened
This is what my Mom drives (Muskoka). There really is nothing to dislike or hate about this car. Inside or out. It doesn’t offend anyone and for people who just want a reliable (under warranty) non-attention grabber WITH an AWD and non-German ... you can’t go wrong. I only wish they’d add an estate (wagon) ‘back’ into their line-up. Great review and thanks.
So do you think they actually built “mediocrity”
Exactly. It’s the ultimate ‘incognito’ vehicle. Thanks for the response and as always....Great work Guys. (Ottawa & Muskoka).
I have more space in my Legacy than ALOT of cars including SUVs and pickups
Since then I've gotten a Golf R to compensate
dorkultra But moms and grandmas drive Golf Rs. 🤣
Hmmm. I'd take a ride with a Mom in a Golf R.
Wow, you read my mind. I was searching this car and you just posted video 9 hours ago.
Yuri speaks the truth when discussing the CVT and potential buyers of this car.
Good choice. Just save a little $$$ for your 30,000 mi. maintenance. Love my forester but it is a bit pricey to maintain
Elegance through simplicity ! Unpretentious. Just classy.
Love it ! Want one !
Would you buy this over the Ford Fusion Sport if you needed AWD?

TheStraightPipes nope I'd get the legacy
Kia Stinger 2.0T AWD
This car seems like it is targeting older Cadillac & Buick buyers who have been displaced by the new sporty demeanor they now possess. In that same respect, for the same money as the Legacy 3.6R, I take the new Regal GS 3.6 AWD instead of this.
Idk I have a thing against CVt transmissions lol
DSP satellite radio is a paid radio service that has no ads. It literally solves all of your issues but it’s a North America thing.
Nope. AUX jack or bluetooth and i play what i want. Most radio stations are trash.
Man, these two guys are the best. I really enjoy my time listening to them. Fun video.
I miss the Legacy Outback with the lifted suspension and the gold cladding. Bring it back subie!
You guys deserve so many more subscribers and views for how good this content is made!
I love this car and even if I was a billionaire I would buy one!
Just bought a 2018 legacy and love it. Front end looks sharp other than that the rest of it looks average. Pearl white looks so much better than the gray. On point with the comfort.
rockoutwityourcockout just got a 2019. how do you like it?
Subaru fanboy here, and I'd take the Accord.
That being said, my dad has a Legacy and it is the perfect car to sit in and drive highways. The seats are mad comfortable.

So proof that it is a "Dad car". I would have bought it in Sport trim with a manual if it was offered though :).

We've been doing 2 days per week all year
Mom owns a 17’ step dad owns a 17’ both 3.6R’s. The dark blue is actually really nice looking, and it’s by the far the comfiest car I’ve ever ridden in. Not super fast but not super slow..not sure how this is slow? What 7.2 or somethin 0-60? Eh it’s good for a daily for someone like 50+
I’ll gap u in my 3.6r
Welcome back to earth after all those expensive sporty cars.
Capable and a sense of humility comes to mind whenever I see any Subaru vehicle.
Bought the car yesterday. Loving it!
Mark 2033 how u like it so far?
Do you still love it? Im thinking of getting one (or the 2020) soon :D
i love how canadian this show is... its just so kind and human
Thanks
I have the 2019 and they have a lot of modifications to the exterior to make it look better. They also have some performance stuff to pick up a little more torque.
Just got one too, but still think that the 2018 looks amazing in my opinion!
Drove my grandpas newer legacy yesterday on a short road trip, every single thing you pointed out I also noticed. Everything is pretty spot on haha.
The 4th Gen Legacy was really the best that Subaru have made
Russell Robinson agreed! I loved those frameless doors!
Not true, the First generation legacy was the best one they ever made. I have had Subaru's since the early 80s and I currently own a 1993 Legacy.
yeah that 4th gen Liberty was smooth looker, i had a manual sedan and also a wagon.
I always mistake these for the new ford police interceptors when I do a quick glance in the rear view mirror. So not too anonymous for me.
The 2009 Legacy is one of the most beautiful cars ever made
Royhan Um, no
jesus that is almost more bland than a VW, impressive

yup that's me! Thanks again for organizing the meetup. Was a lot of fun!
Keep it up with the great content. Looking forward to the driver assistance comparison video and more EV videos!
you complaining about 256 being low for a 6 banger and I am here with a 3.7l 6 banger that does 210 hp :/
Hahaha! Tried and true Jeep motor.....
@@SulCoCrazy really impressed you were able to figure it out. I kinda hate the design of it on mine but its definitely reliable so far.
V6 3.0L 200HP
I think you still win for the extra 0.7L but im happy to give you that win.
Compare to Volvo Sedan seat and this, which one is more comfortable?
Interior reminds me of my 2016 Camry.
I really wish Subaru would bring the levorg wagon to the Canadian market, it's a perfect mix of this comfortable sedan and the fun of the WRX
You will have to move to Australia, it's basically a WRX wagon.
Stephen Y malibu like 2015 are so good
Accord
Optima or Stinger for sure, maybe a base Cadenza
Nobody is buying the Cadenza... and that's the problem.
Malibus are Chevys which means they've won JD Power Hammer Award. Ask Mahk.
This car handles great excellent in snow and bad weather. Turns on a dime. Best car ever !!

Did you not already start the video off, by starting off the something to say how you'd start the video off.... or something?
Comfortable car for dad’s daily usage.
Nothing else much to complain.
Thanks guys!
For value I like the Legacy. Comfort for drivers is a good thing and very underrated.
The new Camry is nicer, and the Accord sportier, but to really enjoy those cars you need to pay a bit extra
Give me a boring Legacy, and I will be just fine.
Keith Berry Ditto!
Sameeeee! It actually fits all of my needs. I'm not a sportscar driver.
the first 5 seconds looked like a subaru commercial, I LOVE IT!
Sweet! Glad you guys reviewed this car! I have this car and love it! I made some cosmetic mods, I’ll send it to you guys.
Definitely Subaru. Im not having a fwd car for around the same price point.
I have the 2018 Sport version in black, front grill, wheels and exterior looks way better then all other Legacy versions. Easy to find in parking lot.
This is exactly how i feel about my dads new outback! Which I have driven a bunch. Very comfortable, quiet, fuel economic (for it's size), practical, Subaru AWD = awesome in wet, snow and other non-road conditions, great road trip car, but... its boring!!!!!!
DanVal Boring is good my man. Live a lot longer and you will understand. Lol
My parents have the same car. It's perfect for them since they're retired, go on long drives and bring a bunch of stuff with them but man it's boring. There's nothing really stand out about it. It's the new Honda Accord now that the Accord is kinda cool.
& so is my dad’s 2015 Lexus RX350 which costs 50K+ new. So don’t feel bad
Are you guys working for any known publications? I think it’s great that 2 guys can freely offer their non professional opinions on cars and call it a review. Me personally I tend to pay attention to auto journalists that work for known publications like Motor trend, Car and Driver, or even the Washington Post for that matter.
Good for you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
nice review guys! keep it up! would love to see a review on '18 Acura ILX too. thanks
The turbo version is quite powerful with FA engine and handles very well.
