I have around 220 followers right now on twitch and today I got hit with 2000 bot followers during my stream and they definitely got a reaction out of me lmao. This video is exactly what I needed man thank you! Your always my go to youtuber for twitch/stream advice.
This is what I needed 2 days ago. I lost my Grandfather on September 6th and I got my first hate raid on twitch. The troll raids used my dead grandfather to try and rile me up and get to me. Even going as far as to go to my Twitter and making meme edits of my late grandfather calling him slurs among other things. Streaming hs helped me so much the past year and has even helped me cope with life issues like this. But Troll accounts and Bots have forced me to private my Twitter and stop streaming for the moment until I figured out what to do. Thank you so much for this video. Targetted Harassment is awful on people especially if they are in a more vulnerable state like me and my family are.

A very good topic to cover! I was bot-raided some months ago and my reaction was "Oh shit, am I famous enough for the hate already?! Mom I made it!" and fooled around it while my mod blocked/reported the bot accounts. I think it was the right approach but I always had doubts about if I should have addresed it more clearly at the time, but hearing what you said convinced me that I did the right thing not bringing everyone in my chat's atention towards it
Always so useful, I've already switched up my creator dashboard and sent this to my mods, hate raids can be super anxiety inducing but at the end of the day, these people are on the other side of the screen and if you keep calm and don't react then you can't be hurt and the haters aren't satisfied. And yeeees, run those ads, make that dough!
Bots are a pain, fortunately I’ve only had it be a problem once when I got hit with a few hundred followers a few months ago, and even then two days later they were removed. I’ve never been raided proper, which is amazing
I truly appreciate the warning at the end. Even without being present on the internet. Without doing much, posting much, reacting much, commenting much, I already got some life threatening messages. Of course it’s not really bothersome if some kids or people who are in general just aggressiv and unhappy write messages to someone they don’t know or will ever see in person but it’s still troublesome in the mind

I'm in a great place right now on my twitch, thanks to your videos I have gotten to this point and I am currently at 66 followers right now but, hoping to grow myself on twitch more each day. I am not yet to affiliate but once I do get to it, I am glade to have join the community of twitch and how many great people that come out of it. Thank you for being yourself, I know there is so much hate at there but I tend to ignore these things because I know what their trying to do to bring me down but, nothing bots can do to bring me down will affect me. I have also kept you on my following list, I did follow your twitch and you kinda stream almost around the time I am either gonna be going to bed at 3am PST. This guy has great guide on growing yourself on twitch, it's helped me grow a bit but hopefully it'll get bigger. ^^

The keep calm stuff was the best bit of advice I’d been given. This had happened to me when I was offline & had a feeling it would happen again when live. Also a quick note, I read somewhere that spam chat bots can still come in and spam derogatory phrases, then self report to get you banned while you're offline. I keep emote only mode on while I'm offline just in case.
They can’t ban you for that, there has been no evidence and no streamers coming forward having been banned for that. It’s just small streamer Twitter spreading a rumours don’t stress :)

About that ad scenario, other creators and I have checked and you do *not* earn revenue, but running an ad is a good way to just catch your breath for a minute.

I've only streamed a few times and I got followed by like 4 different hoss accounts. Not gonna lie it upset me and I told them to frig off and shut my stream off and deleted the vod. Idk it was embarrassing. I'm gonna take these tips home today and figure out how I can handle these bots efficiently. I’ve been watching all of your videos because I’m about to launch my own Music/Rapper Streaming Twitch. Figured I’d drop a comment n just say THANK YOU!
My first follow bot visit was 2100 strong. I'd seen other streamers deal with them and followed their lead. Stay calm, take the necessary steps, move on and don't give them the satisfaction of a reaction. Commander root nuked the lot of them in under 10 minutes with a few mouse clicks. It really is a non issue and easy to deal with. On the subject of offensive words in chat I'm afraid it's not so easy. Twitch recognizes several alphabets that look similar to english and combinations of those will sidestep every moderator filter. There's a video floating around demonstrating the 21 million possible ways to write "jogger" doing this. Slander raids are also hitting people who are offline and reporting the streamer to Twitch, as you are responsible for chat even when offline. Best option for now is to switch to emote only when you aren't streaming and have your ban hammer in easy reach should they try to hit you when you're live
Love your vids as always man. Have your ever thought about reviewing streams? Having people send you some clips or like twitch or youtube streams links and you give advice? I think that would be a good vid. But you might get flooded with people haha

About that ad scenario, other creators and I have checked and you do *not* earn revenue, but running an ad is a good way to just catch your breath for a minute.

I've only streamed a few times and I got followed by like 4 different hoss accounts. Not gonna lie it upset me and I told them to frig off and shut my stream off and deleted the vod. Idk it was embarrassing. I'm gonna take these tips home today and figure out how I can handle these bots efficiently. I'm glad I clicked on your page today because I thought I was gonna have to make a new channel. I'm worried about being constantly botted though.

My first follow bot visit was 2100 strong. I'd seen other streamers deal with them and followed their lead. Stay calm, take the necessary steps, move on and don't give them the satisfaction of a reaction.
Commander root nuked the lot of them in under 10 minutes with a few mouse clicks. It really is a non issue and easy to deal with.
On the subject of offensive words in chat I'm afraid it's not so easy. Twitch recognizes several alphabets that look similar to english and combinations of those will sidestep every moderator filter. There's a video floating around demonstrating the 21 million possible ways to write "jogger" doing this. Slander raids are also hitting people who are offline and reporting the streamer to Twitch, as you are responsible for chat even when offline. Best option for now is to switch to emote only when you aren't streaming and have your ban hammer in easy reach should they try to hit you when you're live
