@Blake Gross 🌬️🤭☔😆 Hahahaha! That's my #1 favorite! Not this song, "spat my drink across the room"! Woo hoo! Get those divorce papers out of the way & grab a towel! I was watching (for the first time ever) Russell Brand's "Ponderland: Family" on RUclips w/my laptop on the coffee table & literally had to clean the living room after trying to destroy my laptop 4X while my lunch got cold & soggy! Thanks for the memories...I'm gonna try to find it and watch it again now!☔🤣🤣

Since discovering this band through 'In Hell I'll Be in Good Company' I literally haven't been able to stop listening to them. All day at work it's whatever they have on RUclips on repeat since Tuesday.

cyhn santos Rip our culture? No. Also, the cousin loving thing is all Alabama. America has so much incest in the south. I’m american, I know the stereotypes of each state. They write bluegrass better than folks born in Kentucky that do bluegrass.
I'm just amazed seeing a resurrection of thiss...folksy(?) southern(?) bluegrass(?) type of music. And it's coming out of places you wouldn't even expect like Canada or California for crying out loud haha. And it sounds genuine too. Very interesting. I hope this kind of music sticks around for awhile. I'm a Mexican dude from a California suburb and this shit gets me UP. I never understood why people don't like a particular song just because it's from a particular genre. If a song is good, it's fucking good. It doesn't matter if it's rock, jazz, soul, folk, rap, EDM or whatever; or if it's perceived to be white or black or purple people music.
It doesn’t matter where it comes from to be country. Lots of country folk come out of the canada america border like Montana. It’s the northern CITIES that we call yankee
I think the main reason anyone hates a specific genre is cause most of that genre that's popular is shitty music. The good stuff doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Like as far as country goes, for instance, one of the best artists many ain't heard of is Chris Knight. Check his song Going Down the River. It's metal as fuck, but it's real country.

Saw these guys at the Warfield in San Francisco last week. Such a great live act; just super solid. This was the last song played from their encore. Has always been my favorite song, but live?? Oh man, its really the only way to hear it!
The banjo player it OMG, A rock star regardless of his chosen instrument, Bass man can do anything, vocals wow, they are one a kind. They came to my town, I'm there.
Honestly never really thought about this song that way. That it was kinda mocking the stereo type instead of playing up the stereo type for their "Southern" image. Cause people in urban areas really do think very very very little about people that live in more rural areas. Seen it alot since moving to LA, had some shit call me a cousin Fer cause I said our family has a farm out on the Florida Georgia line, also had people try to talk down to me and my dad thinking we are morons. If this is mocking the people that think that way about rural folk then I think I can look at this song in a different light.
Never did I ever think that the bass guitar and drums could be overshadowed by another instrument. The cello work is irreplaceable. The man's voice in 'other songs' is amazing as well!
I saw them this past November.. my new favorite band. Thank God there's still bands with actual musicians that play actual instruments in this era of plastic, disposable pop shit.
There are two Facebook fan pages: Good Company, the Official Fan Club, and Honey You, the Unofficial Fan Club. Both have members from all over the world, and musical tastes run from punk to folk to Americana to metal, but we all love TDS. It's not your grandma's bluegrass!
First time I saw them live was this year in Munster (Germany) and they really gave me the goose 👌🏼👍🏼🤗🤗🤗!!!! It's a pleasure to see them perform on stage...having fun and just a jolly good time😂😂. Bluegrass, banjo and strings forever 😁😁😁😁👍🏼
I watched them in London last Friday! Ended with this song!! How amazing are they!!! Loved being around people who appreciated their music as much as me;)

Seen it alot since moving to LA, had some shit call me a cousin Fer cause I said our family has a farm out on the Florida Georgia line, also had people try to talk down to me and my dad thinking we are morons. If this is mocking the people that think that way about rural folk then I think I can look at this song in a different light.
i just heard they dont play this @ concerts anymore...i really hope this isnt true. Seeing them in December and would love to see this.
These boys need to be famous. Beautiful sound!
The Dead South is the kings of good music ❤❤❤
Being from Baltimore city... I thought I'd never be into this kind of music. I'm a rap, hip hop head but this is some damn good music tbh.
There are two Facebook fan pages: Good Company, the Official Fan Club, and Honey You, the Unofficial Fan Club. Both have members from all over the world, and musical tastes run from punk to folk to Americana to metal, but we all love TDS. It's not your grandma's bluegrass!
I saw banjo odyssey and thought it'd be an interesting song.
I'm not fucking disappointed.
Love the sound of a banjo. Gives me the chills 2 hear a good banjo player. Dude's voice in top of that? Absolutely perfection
That's very average banjo.
From the very moment i saw him i decided the banjo player is the coolest looking bloke I've ever seen
Beatrice Klein They come back to münster in april or mai 17, see
you there
"Paddle faster! I hear banjos!"
Me: *paddles towards the banjos*
In the top five things people tell me when I say I'm going kayaking is "if you hear banjos, paddle faster." I guess this is what they meant. Right?
Richard Williams well, the theme of rape is still present, but not entirely the same thing :)
And.. Ya wake up with a sore BUTT....lol
😂 that boss music
Deliverance man hahah
Thats a strong guy right there to hold that big ass bass for shows like that
Pretty sure it's a cello.

I agree that this comment wins. Especially since I discovered this band and started that game in the same month. Haha
I'd die happy if I got to see The Dead South live.

I'm addicted to this band now. Happenstance of RUclips and underground rap is what I listen to.

Wow absolutely amazing guys. No words to describe how awesome your music makes my ears feel but I randomly came across The Dead South and so glad I did.
This makes me wanna get back in touch with my cousin. We used to hang out as kids.
me too, my cousin is a sweet girl who is 1 year older than me, and we do not talk much, but we exchange looks, I think I still have a chance, and this holiday season I'm going to try to spend some time with her

@@RonShwanzy yes it is, like on opposite direction far away... bu what do you know about music at all to have an opinion you musical deff one? Educate yourself musical dumb dumb, bluegrass or simple folk has nothing to do with country. Period.
@@RonShwanzy the dumb-dumb first
I've listened to this song like literally 10x in a row... and I still don't understand why the music stops in the first place.
I've been playing guitar for 20 years but this was the song that inspired me to pick up a banjo God help us all
Welp, it's 2 years later.. what came out of your banjo picking up ? 😊😊
Wow!! I'm a heavy rocker in Louisiana and I am digging the hell out of these guys.
I don't think so, I have only known about them for about a month.
Same here, I'm from Louisiana and I like their style.
If you read the comments on the "In Hell I'll Be In Good Company" video there is a BUNCH of metalheads all goin'on about how much they loved that song/these guys. They have a very wide appeal. I hope that helps them have longevity. I'm hooked.
These guys are awesome and literally everyone I tell them about gets into them. Seeing them here in uk in a couple of days. Every gig they are doing here is sold out.
I am a metalhead, somehow this ended up in my youtube mix. I am so glad it did! I have been watching their videos over and over and over and over!

Good Reference.
I see what you did there... lol.
@@00tonytone It's the mother that was saying "She's my brother's daughter" to him. So she's the mother's niece, not the guy who's doin' the lovin'.
@@00tonytone Wrong.
You guys are awesome. We still just LOVE "Banjo Dude"
The end is so beautiful 🥺🥺🥺🥺⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😇
Massive talent... what's odd is you can't get any personality from them in the videos. Love this band... good ole hometown group. Go guys!
I like how they take their music seriously but not themselves so much.
that is fookin sweet ass music
the banjo............. astonishing
I absolutely love the song.
You are the most authentic, real musicians playing the best music I have hear in a long time. I am binge watching you all today.
I try to sneak this onto playlists every chance I get. I have one aunt in particular that I've gotten at least 2 dozen times at family functions.
"A weapon to surpass Metal Gear"
