- Ever have a windshield wiper arm, or rear window wiper arm, break off? We did. This video shows how to replace the rear window wiper arm and blade on a 2011 Honda Odyssey van, but it's essentially the same process for most newer vehicles with this style arm.
Maybe your window wiper arm didn't break off but it's just not putting enough pressure on the window to clear away the water. That could mean that the wiper arm spring is worn or broken. In that case, you'll want to follow these same instructions to replace the wiper arm.
The steps are simple:
1. If the wiper arm is still on the vehicle, remove the plastic cap at the base of the arm. You should be able to remove this by simply prying up on it with your fingers.
2. Remove the nut that is holding the arm in place.
3. Use a wiper arm/battery terminal puller tool to remove the arm.
4. Press the new arm on in the same location as the original.
5. Re-install the nut and tighten it.
6. Clip the plastic cap back on. - Авто/Мото
Double thumbs up to how well you explained it. However, next time pleaseee get your camera person to zoom in and shine light where your working. It’d help sooo much for the audience to see better and avoid guess work.
This is EXACTLY what happened with my 2014 Acura RDX. Thank you for the demonstration and the tool recommendation. I will try it.
Thanks Honda for making us buy a tool for a one time job.
Feel the same way with my daughter’s Chevy
The ONLY video that shows you how to do this. Thank you!
Hey good video, thanks. Just a tip for anyone else out there, if you don’t have those fancy removal tools like myself, 2 flathead screwdrivers wills work.
Same issue. Used pliers without any issues . No need of wasting $15. But the video was indeed v helpful. Thank you
Exactly what I needed to know, I've been trying to remove the wiper arm on my wife's car I think you saved me the price of a rear window 🤞🤞
That's the magic tool. Surprisingly, the local parts stores didn't stock one. Amazon to the rescue. Go State ('74)!
Way too simple!!! (But I could not figure out how to get the wiper arm off😒😒) Thank you: excellent explanation. 👍👍
Just what I was looking for!!! thank you, mate!
Its funny that my minivan also had the same exact part broken similary way. I guess they are built flimsy these days. Never happened with any other older cars I have had. Thanks for the video, this was very helpful.
BTW, I did not have puller so I ended up using a cone wrench and wiggled it a bit and it easily came off.
I used the same and was able to get the broken piece off my Chevy Traverse. Thanks for the advice
Thank you
Big Help thanks. GO Penn State
Just came across your channel. Good how to video. We are!
Thanks. Penn State!
You can also use a bathtub handle puller if you have one available, as I did; just leave the nut on a few threads to stop the tip of the puller from slipping off the end of the bolt.
Thanks, I needed to know that, was this a camera you bought at an auction, was it written up as the one used by Charlie Chaplin in the making of the film Easy Street in 1917 ?
Close up would have been a big help.
Thank you!
I'm a woman and thanks to this video I'm going to be able to change it my husband didn't know
fyi my youtubers. Just wiggle the broken part that's in the screw back and fourth and it will come out. Meaning ya don't need the tool. Thanks for the video it inspired me to call my neighbor. Peace!
How to connect wiper's for Corsa utility?
Can you put a link to where one can get that removal tool please and thanks!
You can get these at most auto stores, ebay, Amazon, etc. The one I used is like this one www.lowes.com/pd/KD-Tools-Battery-Terminal-Puller/1000972588
Thank you for the video. Got the nut off the wiper blade arm and can’t pull the arm off. Do I need one of these tools or some WD-40? TIA
You'll most likely need one of these tools. It's pressed on, so using a lubricant like WD-40 isn't really going to make a difference.
Thank you for replying! It’s a Chevy Cruze, 2018 rear wiper on a hatchback. There shouldn’t be anything else but the one screw, correct?
@@jamiemaclaren4187 Yes, should just be the one screw.
What’s the exact name of the tool? Thinking of ordering this on Amazon. Thanks!
It's a battery terminal puller.
@@RaybuckAutoBodyParts Hi. Can you please provide what brand as there are so many batter pullers in the market? Thanks.
@@michellele2658 I used KD Tools KD-200 puller
Don’t need the tool. I was careful and used vise grips to pull it off with only a little force.
Bought the tool compression nuts on there, so tight it won’t come off no matter how much force I use I’m about to replace the whole window if I can’t get it off
If you haven't done so yet, use some lubricant on the nut and let it set for a few hours. Try Kroil or PB Blaster or something like those.
Why didn't you link the tool!?
Could u state where 2 buy the tool and what is it called
It's called a battery terminal puller. You could use something like this one www.amazon.com/GEARWRENCH-202D-Battery-Terminal-Puller/dp/B0002SRDRS/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1KIQH0WF3W1O5&keywords=battery+terminal+puller&qid=1670851052&sprefix=battery+terminal+puller%2Caps%2C103&sr=8-3
Where do you buy the tool?
I found it on Amazon, but I've seen it on ebay as well as stores like Advance Auto and Napa.
Arm...not blade
