Perfect video for my 2016 CR-V. I did have a tougher time removing the arm after the nut was off though. I had to use a screwdriver between the arm and boot with a rag on the boot side, to pry while pulling but it popped off. I wanted to make sure I could remove it before ordering a new one. However, after putting the old one back on, it started working good again. It's probably just temporary but at least next time, since I lubricated everything, it will be a very easy process thanks to you,
Hey just wanted to give a quick thanks - had a similar issue with my rear wiper arm not making contact with 2/3 of its path. Found your video, ordered the part, and changed it out this weekend. Works 100% now - thanks for a quick and informative video. I've bookmarked your channel for other CRV maintenance tips in the future.
Thanks for this. It helped me get the arm off safely. I do have another method that fixed mine and saved $$ on a new one. After taking it off, I sprayed it a couple times. Not with rust penetrant, but brake cleaner. That broke down the seized area. I then worked it back and forth and sprayed again. Worked it some more and it sprang back. The spring was freed up. Applied a little penetrant as an anti-rust and reinstalled. Works like new.
Thank, I am at the early stages of blast it clean with WD40, and just purchased a new blade. It's time to order a new wiper arm. Thanks so much for the help. I should have watched this video before purchasing a new wiper blade..
Thanks so much for this video.... i kept forgetting to get my rear wiper repaired and this vid got me exactly what i needed and i was happy i could do it myself :) Cheers!!
2014 , thought the splines were just stripped on the old arm . The new one doesn't have any , so does the shaft just press them into the soft metal of the arm when the nut is tightened?
@@euci3207 See if you can spray some penetrating oil where the shaft goes through the glass and into the motor. On a different car I had a motor binding as the shaft came out of the motor…but the motor was actually fine.
Ok you probably just saved me $100 but DAMN I wish you had shown that windshield getting clean! I'm having exactly the same issue and the dirty glass is KILLING me.
I paid the dealer whatever the cost was for the arm, and as for the wiper blade I always buy the most expensive ones. They seem to last longer for me. Glad this helped you. Thanks for the feedback.
Video is great and got the nut off no problem, however getting the arm off the bolt is proving impossible, no amount of pulling, prying or liquid wrench will loosen the d*&@ thing. Anyone encounter this and have a solution. I'm guess it has something to do with the high salting roads we live with here in the far north. Probably rust-welded the parts together. I'm thinking about trying to cut through the arm's base with a dremel grinder but am very concerned about damaging the post...
Spray it with something like SeaFoam deep deep, put the nut back on, and let it soak in a few days. Repeat this a couple times and try again. I would not cut the arm. Def risky to damage the stud on the motor.
I had to use a flat head screwdriver between the arm and the boot and pry while pulling. I did put a rag between the screwdriver and the boot so I wouldn't put a hole in the boot.
I wish all how to videos could be like this one. Straight to the point. Correct. With the little tips in between that keep you from problems.
Fantrastic video. Plain language explanation, no distracting fluff to filter out, and the camera angle showed everything clearly. Thank you so much!

What a coincidence, am also having same problem at 118km 😮 on crv 2016. 😂
Thanks for video man. Now I gotta call dealer.
Why do you need a dealer? Any private mechanic can do this for you if you’re not mechanically inclined.
@@JoesCarSmartsNY i gotta get wiper arm from dealer . Local stores don't seem to have it.
Amzn has it but I wanna compare with dealer price

This was helpful. It informed me not to go overboard with brute force getting the old arm off. Was careful and fixed my van in 5 minutes.
Awesome. Glad this helped you.
THANK YOU!! dealership wanted $150 for just a diagnostic! $20 on Amazon for the arm and it got resolved. THANK YOU THANK YOU!
You’re welcome. I’m so glad this helped you.

That makes sense.
So yours didn’t come with splines either?
This video helped me out!
Also what rear windshield wiper is that?
I’m pretty sure I bought the most expensive Bosch model that AutoZone had. I’m not sure the exact model though.
what wiper brand are you using?
That’s a BOSCH Envision.
@@JoesCarSmartsNY i may have to replace the wiper motor , it was moving really slow then it just stopped.

Thank you, I just snapped off the arm on my dads new Honda he just got so I’m glad it’s simple bc I knew he was sad about it
What did you spray it with?
What specific tool did you use?
I like to use PB Blaster as mentioned in the video.
I’m not sure which tool you’re referring to.
The only tool needed is a 10mm wrench and maybe a hammer and in my case a flat head screwdriver to help pry the arm off.
Thank you for posting this... Made me confident to do it myself :-)
Glad this helped you! Thanks for your feedback.

struggled to take the arm off.. 3:15 is important, need to nudge it loose
Thank you so much for this it was super easy. Thanks. I both both pieces for about 17 dollars though. Not sure why yours cost so much

Thanks for your feedback. Glad this helped you.
Very good bro. Thanks for sharing.
great explanation!
Mr crv rear wiper goes up from glass then I turned on but at the time of off looking good shape, should I change both parts or have any other issue?
I would change both parts.
Thanks! I’ll have to do this because some idiot broke off my wiper arm.
Thank you! Appreciate
Short and sweet, now for mine……
thank you
