Reina is not bad but she's not great either They really need to stop colorsharing 4-5 stars seasonal with 5 stars seasonal (like they did with Clanne and Alear on the summer banner) it's just annoying especially when those units are limited

Brave Robin is a case to be studied, at first he was looked down as the least good of the braves cuz he was just "another godsword"(he wasn't but that's besides the point) and his ignis bonfire clause was annoying for anyone that wanted to make him +10 for arena, but then people catched on how crazy Gambit 4 was and then IS nerfed LMRobin Grand Strategy so his Rally Spectrum was more appealing as a replacement and thus increased his popularity. But then 2024 powercreep just knocked on his door and now his young version provided his support but better, then visible bonuses are now bad because of how easily they can be stolen and to top it all out Laguz friend mega powercrept Gambit 4 as the B skill of choice for infantry(it can still be used on flyers decently but even them have better options now) I think BMRobin is a good unit who is just an unfortunately victim of the powercreep and him being in the most saturated class type didn't help for his longevity either, I would argue BCorrin is a little bit worse as cyl7 units go(VMyrr powercrept her to oblivion) but her terrain support is still exclusive to her and her class is still rather unique.
I have to say Base Sylvain, i was hopeful to get him finally in the game aside from his summer alt.....and they made him a demote, and didn't give him a pref
They didn't even give him Lance of Ruin like what's the point of making an Academy Sylvain without giving him his weapon like are they gonna make him a legendary/ascended/etc 🤨?

the fallen lyon argument i can agree a bit givinng the enemy triangle adept is just bad with a lot of things that the enemy can exploit but fallen lyon they now with the refine is an iniciator so you can choose not to put him on defense teams use him in offense teams you can move arround what units you can choose to attack like you wont send a blue unit against a gree one you will send the blue to a red to just take him out so fallen lyon can really help if you the player move him not the AI but thats just me idk how people use him
Oof, yeah, Ruse 4 really turned out to be “Please stop, she’s already dead” for Catria. I actually don’t think Brave Robin belongs here just because Rally Spectrum is just a really good support skill. For me, I think Fallen Veyle is probably the most disappointing unit of Book VIII. Many of us hoped a theoretical Fallen Veyle would be the one-unit Ike counter we’d been waiting for, but alas. She ended up being worse than her Mythic version in a lot of ways because they decided to tank the Fallen version’s Speed so hard…
@@infantrypulse as a +10 F!Veyle user I agree that F!Veyle is not all that great, it leaves me devastated comparing her to Nergal and Ursula in terms of power. I've given her Occultists strike but she still can't kill properly, and Laguz Friend 4 and she can't tank properly. She really has no spot anywhere and there are better units you'd rather use a support slot on such as attuned Micaiah.
yeah they min-maxed her too hard. I don't think IS intended fallen veyle to be a counter to emblem ike even though she should be. she is more of a glass-canon nuke and a support unit. but maybe IS will introduce a skill that allows player phase doubles so that she can be usable in the future? but there will probably release a better, ranged character that will have a scowl effect without a need of an action or status effect (hush spectrum). I 100% agree that brave robin shouldn't be on this list. the only argument is that his combat is sub par to modern standards, but honestly I only use him for the rally spectrum support because I don't have alt lol. btw does freyr cleanse ruse 4? you apply ruse 4 during action phase, but at the beginning of freyr's player phase it should be cleansed right?
@@zenotrocity No, Freyr does not cleanse Ruse debuffs, unfortunately (?). It’s better to think of Freyr’s effect as a barrier rather than a cleanse. He stops penalties from ever taking place (at the start of either phase), but he does not “remove” the debuffs in the same way as things like Odd Recovery.
I get the rally spectrum argument but when both young robin (M) and duo Y!Robin (F) both have the ability to grant it to the team + the quick addition to DR piercing makes him very lackluster
I mean, I get what you say about B! Robin, I just don't agree with him in 2nd place, because, while he doesn't stand out much as a support for tanks, I still think he's really good for Vantage units! B!Robin helped a lot of units to accelerate Deadeyes and Lethalitys, then No Quarters for a good while before DR piercing became so common. He also wasn't dead on arrival as some of the others mentions, he was pretty good at first and then started to fall off later. But, I get, nowadays is harder to place him in a team instead of other units. Btw, "Gullveig is popular for some reason", then "she has TWO really BIG... problems" - yeah, I see what you did there haha

I would probably match how IS made her available and put Mythic Kvasir up there along with Gullveig. Her best kit involves replacing her prf with a seasonal inheritable and just turning her into “we have Legendary Camilla/Duo Lyon at home” which you could do with any red tome cav (and is also worthless if the opponent has Breath of Life 4), and if you try to use her as intended her unique special is so clunky - if you don’t devote a lot of support to pre-charging or reducing her cooldown then her combats always end in one of two ways: either she kills the opponent before her special triggers or she dies during the combat anyway because piercing is everywhere now so that 70% DR isn’t saving her anymore.
2:15 The statement about base kit Summer Gullveig not having the best damage output might be true, but with Resonance she hits hard AF. The stacked DR piercing and true damage effect amount to 80% DR piercing and a consistent over 25 true damage (if not more). Just with the support you can access on a high-scoring Arena team, she can one-shot stuff like Duo Byleth on her first hit. And in AR-O, with some support, she can one-shot maxed out Emblem Ikes if her prf Special is pre-charged. Summer Gullveig is crazy strong.
Agree with all of these except for Mythic Gullveig. While she might not be able to kill the very best omnitank like Emblem Ike, she's insanely good for any Anima team as unmerged even on pure cav lines and mixed flier/cav lines. Every season in highest Aether raids ranks she's doing work on defense for me.
What's funny about Rearmed Reinhardt is that he gets massive buffs just in time for this video with resonance. With resonance and arcane euphoria he deals about 30 true damage consistently on a brave attacker which is really stupid.
I really wish the blessing system didn't exist, i love chaos season because you can just bring what you want, and it frees some of these mythics or lets them excel in doing the other role. It makes me wish that we'd stop Light/Shadow and just have it be a joint deal, put Shadow units on offense and Light on defense (same for the other season of course). I mostly realized this because there are also Shadow and Anima mythics that i really enjoy and want to play with, but i barely have the chance to because they're defense units, i build them to annoy players when the AI controls them, not myself, and i don't feel any incentive to merge them if i get copies, only doing it if the unit has no fodder of value. Love Aether Raids, but the system feels more restrictive these days rather than forcing a unique playing field each week.
I'm still shocked how poorly designed these newer units coming out, my biggest disappointment this year is goldmary she just doesn't have that much going for her the button is okay her combat is decent but with terrible res 😩.
Kind of weird to include heroes from last year on this when it's a 2024 list but you do you. For the 5 worst of 2024 for me, in no particular order, it's got to be: New Years Nerþuz. She was just "Better" Mythic Nerþuz but she did the same thing. It wouldn't be until Summer Nerþuz where she finally became a functional unit, making the prior one's worthless. New Years Nerþuz gets hit the hardest since her sunmer variant came 5 months later, and at least the mythic version will get her refine sooner than never. Safy. Her cleanse and healing is quite nice... if not for the fact that it only activates at the start of your turn and not during enemy phase. Now that we have so many debuff units, especially Attuned Micaiah (a genuine mistake of an addition to this game, among many this year) Safy just isn't all that useful. At least Freyr can stop debuffs outright and keep a unit like Micaiah from reaching her most dangerous threshold. Safy will cleanse you after the damage is already done. Unfortunate. Rearmed Reinhardt: A fast Reinhardt who is extremely mediocre. It does not help that this irrelevant character gets pushed more than the main character of Thracia, but his latest alt doesn't do anything. No damage reduction piercing, his brave effect is conditional to you moving more than 2 spaces before attacking, there is no desperation effect to potentially quad, he's stuck with an arcane weapon so his full potential is held back. Not a great showing. Even compared to the other fast glass cannons we have now like Summer Gullveig or Emblem Celica, he's not impressive in the least. Rearmed Sothe. While he fares better than Reinhardt, his potential is also held back by his Rearmed prison. Bane doesn't do anything of real note unless the enemy is already super squishy and his weapon is just a stat swing with some damage reduction and Time's Pulse 3. Scowl dragons are not kind to the man, and neither is the lack of desperation. Can't KO an opponent if they live the first hit and KO with their retaliation. It also doesn't help that he is overshadowed by Attuned Micaiah and even mister Breath of Life 4 fodder. Rearmed Lumera. Such a waste to get Mythic Lumera at the beginning of February only for another one to appear 3 months later. Between the two of them, I think Rearmed Lumera is the worse of the two. Her Arcane Fellstone, while better than the Grima, is a pretty underwhelming weapon in practice. I think it's worse off than both the New Sun Stone and Dragon's Stone for dragons. The only thing she has over her Mythic counterpart is that she has NFU and she can pierce DR when her special triggers. Considering her rearmed status, she doesn't hold the same value as mythic lumera. At least she gives you value during light season and will one day in the future (if the game gets that far) get a remix and refine. Rearmed Lumera has no prospects other than being able to duplicate potential new dragon skills. Kind of a tough sell when neither of the newest toys in High Dragon Wall or Dragon's Roar are all the useful compared to Laguz Friend from the Emblem menace. To be extremely biased, the worst inclusions to this game this year definitely has to be Attuned Micaiah, Emblem Ike, Emblem Celica, Duo Lyon, and Nergal. Nergal is just tacked on by comparison but those 4 have definitely become extreme annoyances. I have no idea what they were thinking in adding these powerhouses to a game as limited as FEH is. Especially Emblem Celica. Giving her that much warping range in a game with puny maps is something only the people making this game would be stupid enough to do. Making an omnitank who outdoes everyone in the game is absolutely healthy for a game where you collect units. Making a unit who deletes all of your health as the combat begins and then inflicts a stall mechanic on your units was a genuine mistake. And of course adding a character who debuffs you into the ground and can't be debuffed herself else she turns them into buffs is yet again another decision that only IS would be stupid enough to make. It's crazy how unplayable the game has become in so little time. We're only a month away from the new brave units who will definitely have some stupid powercreep of their own, but I doubt they'll be on the level of these units. Who knows how much lower this game will go come the next couple months, let alone next year. Truly scary times these are.

Hard disagree on R!Lumera, +14 to all stats is monstrous and alongside LF4's true DR is much more effective than the comparatively small effect you get from the new year stones. As a unit she provides AoE dr in light season (downright vital for tanks as N!Igrene is the most common nuke) and it can't be stolen like Gotoh's support can. I regret not pulling her to kit out NY!Kana and support my light tanks
@@aqexbrown It depends but generally Dragon's Stone reducing damage by 20% of your Speed takes less damage than 40% first attack DR. Dragon's Stone also lets you run Dragon Roar if you want to use that. Imo, the survivability bonus helps more than the stat swing.
Brave Robin being here is hella questionable regardless (although I understand it), but man, the blatant misunderstanding here is insane. Robin is a support nuke. He functions better as a support nuke because he comes with Hexblade + DR Piercing Bonfires that charge themselves, or he can pair up Laguz Friend + Gust and go for double Special activations with a source of CD + 1 (such as Nidavellir). Running him as a full support ultimately misses the point of him. In SD, I’ll agree that he’s mid but he’s pretty great in AR - especially with the recent additions of Excel and Gust
Was honestly surprised to see Gullveig but mostly because I currently only have Summer Gullveig on my mind who is pretty darn cracked. I used to use Mythic Gullveig a lot when she came out, she was relatively decent given that she was brand new but then I just stopped. When I decided to pick her up again, I ran into those exact same problems: she dies before she can do any real damage. Sucks cause I really liked using her on release. Oh well, I have Summer Gullveig now at least.
I dont mind the Fallen Lyon refine, maybe Triangle Adept 4 in the future would work with his Triangle Adept status or provide some kind of type-advantage support to further secure those type matchups. Would Citrinne be able to share the Cancel Affinity status that Fallen Lyon gets?
Video idea: Most overlooked units from this year. Here is my list *Tina: the very BEST non mythic defense unit in the game in my opinion. *YEmmeryn *BLapis
For a New Player like me. He is pretty good for PvE and low tier arena(again the same argument can be used) but he is my safe deploy until I get better units/fodders.
Honourable mention for units I've seen less than 5 times it not never: In the regular pool: Febail (oof Spd/Res Hexblade), Mycen, Arlen, Isadora, Yukimura (I love his design, but damn he just does not work sadly) And Ascended Merric.... like, the units I named were all 2 skills 5 stars, but Ascended Merric just straight up sucks. I think he had definetly deserved a spot on this list> In the seasonal pool: Spring Franne (A weird kind of supportive omni-tank in the seasonal pool), Nabata Juno and Halloween Flayn... There's some other units that I don't think I've ever seen but I think they might have potential (NY Kvasir for example). I'd add at least one of these units, probably Ascended Merric, and as for who I'd remove, I think the Heather allegations are more like, Ruse 4 allegations, she's a brave attacking self-refreshing unit, that's not as strong as it used to be but she's pretty good and damn fun to use. I also think the video somewhat undersells that Brave Robin was actually good. For the first few months, up until the winter banner I actually ran him in a far extending Catria Ball where he jumpscared and killed quite some opponents. When you read his weapon now I'd agree it does just so little for him, but his C-slot is still amazingly for supporitve reasons and he can actually run builds like Laguz Friend 4 with either Godlike Refexes or Gust now
The fact that my OG Eliwood straight up outreses L!M!Corrin and proceeds to any/phase him is an absolute embarassment. Gen 1 unit folks. Yeah he is decked out in a few things, but seriously, your kit revolves around the idea of having higher res than the foe's res, most of your kit just stops. Thanks Eliwood, for having high res and being a decent dragon slayer because of it.
Good list but I don't really agree with Reinhardt's placement. I feel his only really aged better over time esecially the fact that he actually has a good A-skill option compared to other cavs since BoL4.
Kind of agree, (he's my fav and destroys with resonance + desp 💔 ) only problem is he has to wait... and wait... and wait..... for a better weapon. Euphoria is decent but it's missing a lot of stats compared to new arcanes. And in 1 year he might not even be good anymore :(
I think what’s nice about feh though, is that every unit can work with the right team. Not to mention new skills are always being introduced. So there’s never a need to feel like your favorite unit is unuseable, unless it’s selena or something
Funny how Brave Tiki went from absolute garbage to a fairly good unit in the last few months just with inheritance. The copy paste build of D Bonus Doubler, Laguz Friend, Breath of Life, Guard Echo works perfectly on her. I might even argue she is the 2nd best unit of cyl 7 right now after Chrom.
I love my ReArmed Reinhardt, but WOW they dropped the ball on that brave condition. Granted on defense teams it's not really that bad but like....why? When I use him I have to place him in a bad position just to get the brave condition. It sucks. 😂
Honestly, as someone who got Heather from the anniversary free seasonal, she's suddenly a lot better as an on demand source of penalties and exposure -- pretty big deal in the AttMicaiah meta. I run her in ARD and she can snipe a lot with the forward rally, Celica ring and TP/Lethality. Is she Duo Robin? No, but I don't feel like I need her.
Legendary M!Corrin is terrible with his base kit but the moment you start putting even a little bit of inheritance and support into him, he will grow into a genuinely great tank. He appreciates heavy investment more than 99% of the entire modern cast. I don’t think he belongs anywhere near this list, honestly. Putting a base kit L!M!Corrin up against other units with zero external support when most tanks need that to shine is a bit misleading, and leaving his base kit on isn’t reflective of what the unit can actually do.
@@Alexdestiny21 I use mine with Firestorm Boost and Odd Spd Wave 4. Those two skills grant him a good amount of Speed, Guard, and NFU, all effects that were missing from his base kit. Thanks to the Phantom Res from HDW and some support, he hasn’t missed a Res check against anything so far and his performance has been so much better since I helped him out.
@@AceBountyHunterRex Firestorm Boost and Odd Spd Wave. They give him a good amount of Spd, NFU, and Guard, which he was missing from his base kit. His Res hasn’t failed me at all thanks to it being naturally high + HDW. He’s been so much more consistent at killing and surviving foes with those two plus standard support units.
@@OmegaYato i feel like I'd rather still use his base kit over that. Nfu is easy enough to get and guard can be pretty hit or miss these days. But that's just me.
I really hope 2024 is the year of Brave Tiki's redemption arc. We all remember what refines did to Brave Hector and Brave Dimitri. the hope (or cope) is alive.

I can’t think of any one off the top of my head but Rearmed Sothe was meh. For me personally rearmed units have poor viability as I can’t afford to refine them all so they just sit around.
I get robins firepower is lacking, but he was on my defense for ~6 months purely because he was tricky and offered special ramping support. I used him with Arval to ramp directly into a SS4 backed glacies and it merked most things pre-ike. It was really Veyle and Ike coming out that limited its viability I know we SHOULD have units last more than 6 months as relevant... But you know good ol IS
I only have Summer Gullveig and yeah her versatility makes her so much better than regular mythic, her + bridal sharena is peak circus with all their extra actions lol
My Anima team right now is Freyr, Winter Dimitri, Valentine's Ephraim, Brave Robin, and Valentine's Myrrh, and all Robin does is offer support to the others. Still love him though.

I heavily disagree about Heather, I think that units that can act after rallies are super valuable and I think shes the next best one after Spring Sylvain in my book.
Re watching this, I'd replace Heather with Legendary Camilla. The hype for her was through the roof as everyone assumed she'd be the best Water Legendary for eternity thanks to the insane Pre-Combat damage she had as well as the fact that she gives damage reduction piercing to your team. However, now that most new units (and units in general) have easier access to damage reduction piercing, her support goes from incredible to, nice to have at best. So her support isn't anything special. So she's pretty much only valuable because of her combat now. And even that isn't the best anymore since 1) Duo Lyon is even better than her in that regard, is blessable, and has his end turn nonsense. And like Lyon, she was nerfed HARD by Breath of Life 4. So her combat isn't that good, her support isn't that good, and her fodder is either outdated or can be used on other sparkable units. Why should I bother using Legendary Camilla? She was really good when she came out, and is still usable to say the least. But now a days, there's no way I'd call her the best Water Legendary. Hell, I'd argue her NINJA variant is better than her now, and Ninja camilla came out over a year before Legendary Camilla.
Putting robin and not gullveig for brave is dumb, gullveig has many alts better, does more damage and pierce. What robin are you using that that youre using even pulse tie? That looks like a mess lmao
Halloween Flayn was my most dissapointing unit. If she was released in 2022 or 2021, she'd be broken. But the thing is, most of the effects she gives are stuff that units already have. And her drive damage reduction is piercable. Hell, I consider her to be WORSE than Elimine, who's already fallen off tremendously. And we waited over 3 years for this.
I'll be honest, I actually really like using L! Male Corrin. While he is no Emblem Ike and not even the best dragon omnitank that we have currently. He still provides nice support, I actually really like the water terrain and his kill power and survivability in my experience have been better in practice than in theory. On his own of course he will die to a lot of units, but that is literally with most of the units in this game. Even L! Male Alear, the best dragon omnitank there is currently gets killed quite effortlessly without his allies. So overall while he isn't anything too crazy, he is still a solid unit and among the better ones in the fire legendaries category. I prefer him over L! Female Alear for sure and the only ones I'd really put above him would be L! Hinoka and L! Lilina.
I still see Sorenball being thrown around as a good strategy in certain modes. I ran with that for a time in AR-O with E!Ike as a near savior before I decided to try other things.
Kvasir is easily the worst, Gullveig can often sneak through the enemy team, kill 3 supports and secure 0 lift loss. Kvasir's whole trick never worked even on release, so her best build became Devoted Basket+ (burn damage at home). Because of this she suffered from BoL 4's introduction far more than D!Lyon did and now just has to pray the enemy doesn't bring it
Robin as one of my eventually merge projects. I love his teleport and support abilities + his art. But damn they really had to powercreep this year so hard with this broken emblem thrash idea.... PLS STOP bashing your F2P playerbase. You literaly can´t summon for mythic/emblem or you waste all your orbs and miss everything else. They push the fomo harder then any game i ever played! (im just playing right now 4 gachas, so i know what im talking about) Tbh if i would still care about my rank in arena/AR or any other mode, i think i would have stopped playing the game. I just refuse now to buy anything and be fine with whatever rank i get with the favorites i like to use. I read many people are kinda like me nowadays. Dunno if thats true. But asian market still whales like shit in gachas.

How much def is considered solid that 27 is now low? Also Lyon's refine is legit a worse version of Maribelle's staff refine (which I think two or more years old) cause she can also pass the cancel affinity effect (even though hers requires her to initiate).

I think BMRobin is a good unit who is just an unfortunately victim of the powercreep and him being in the most saturated class type didn't help for his longevity either, I would argue BCorrin is a little bit worse as cyl7 units go(VMyrr powercrept her to oblivion) but her terrain support is still exclusive to her and her class is still rather unique.

the fallen lyon argument i can agree a bit givinng the enemy triangle adept is just bad with a lot of things that the enemy can exploit but fallen lyon they now with the refine is an iniciator so you can choose not to put him on defense teams use him in offense teams you can move arround what units you can choose to attack like you wont send a blue unit against a gree one you will send the blue to a red to just take him out so fallen lyon can really help if you the player move him not the AI but thats just me idk how people use him

For me, I think Fallen Veyle is probably the most disappointing unit of Book VIII. Many of us hoped a theoretical Fallen Veyle would be the one-unit Ike counter we’d been waiting for, but alas. She ended up being worse than her Mythic version in a lot of ways because they decided to tank the Fallen version’s Speed so hard…

I've given her Occultists strike but she still can't kill properly, and Laguz Friend 4 and she can't tank properly. She really has no spot anywhere and there are better units you'd rather use a support slot on such as attuned Micaiah.
yeah they min-maxed her too hard. I don't think IS intended fallen veyle to be a counter to emblem ike even though she should be. she is more of a glass-canon nuke and a support unit. but maybe IS will introduce a skill that allows player phase doubles so that she can be usable in the future? but there will probably release a better, ranged character that will have a scowl effect without a need of an action or status effect (hush spectrum).
I 100% agree that brave robin shouldn't be on this list. the only argument is that his combat is sub par to modern standards, but honestly I only use him for the rally spectrum support because I don't have alt lol.
btw does freyr cleanse ruse 4? you apply ruse 4 during action phase, but at the beginning of freyr's player phase it should be cleansed right?

It’s better to think of Freyr’s effect as a barrier rather than a cleanse. He stops penalties from ever taking place (at the start of either phase), but he does not “remove” the debuffs in the same way as things like Odd Recovery.

I get the rally spectrum argument but when both young robin (M) and duo Y!Robin (F) both have the ability to grant it to the team + the quick addition to DR piercing makes him very lackluster
I mean, I get what you say about B! Robin, I just don't agree with him in 2nd place, because, while he doesn't stand out much as a support for tanks, I still think he's really good for Vantage units! B!Robin helped a lot of units to accelerate Deadeyes and Lethalitys, then No Quarters for a good while before DR piercing became so common. He also wasn't dead on arrival as some of the others mentions, he was pretty good at first and then started to fall off later. But, I get, nowadays is harder to place him in a team instead of other units.

I would probably match how IS made her available and put Mythic Kvasir up there along with Gullveig.
Her best kit involves replacing her prf with a seasonal inheritable and just turning her into “we have Legendary Camilla/Duo Lyon at home” which you could do with any red tome cav (and is also worthless if the opponent has Breath of Life 4), and if you try to use her as intended her unique special is so clunky - if you don’t devote a lot of support to pre-charging or reducing her cooldown then her combats always end in one of two ways: either she kills the opponent before her special triggers or she dies during the combat anyway because piercing is everywhere now so that 70% DR isn’t saving her anymore.
2:15 The statement about base kit Summer Gullveig not having the best damage output might be true, but with Resonance she hits hard AF. The stacked DR piercing and true damage effect amount to 80% DR piercing and a consistent over 25 true damage (if not more). Just with the support you can access on a high-scoring Arena team, she can one-shot stuff like Duo Byleth on her first hit. And in AR-O, with some support, she can one-shot maxed out Emblem Ikes if her prf Special is pre-charged. Summer Gullveig is crazy strong.
Agree with all of these except for Mythic Gullveig. While she might not be able to kill the very best omnitank like Emblem Ike, she's insanely good for any Anima team as unmerged even on pure cav lines and mixed flier/cav lines. Every season in highest Aether raids ranks she's doing work on defense for me.
What's funny about Rearmed Reinhardt is that he gets massive buffs just in time for this video with resonance. With resonance and arcane euphoria he deals about 30 true damage consistently on a brave attacker which is really stupid.
I really wish the blessing system didn't exist, i love chaos season because you can just bring what you want, and it frees some of these mythics or lets them excel in doing the other role. It makes me wish that we'd stop Light/Shadow and just have it be a joint deal, put Shadow units on offense and Light on defense (same for the other season of course).
I mostly realized this because there are also Shadow and Anima mythics that i really enjoy and want to play with, but i barely have the chance to because they're defense units, i build them to annoy players when the AI controls them, not myself, and i don't feel any incentive to merge them if i get copies, only doing it if the unit has no fodder of value.
Love Aether Raids, but the system feels more restrictive these days rather than forcing a unique playing field each week.
I'm still shocked how poorly designed these newer units coming out, my biggest disappointment this year is goldmary she just doesn't have that much going for her the button is okay her combat is decent but with terrible res 😩.
I enjoyed pairing her with brave Soren so she can be a near savior :-) I think she’s pretty strong! But you’re right she’s kinda odd
Kind of weird to include heroes from last year on this when it's a 2024 list but you do you. For the 5 worst of 2024 for me, in no particular order, it's got to be:
New Years Nerþuz. She was just "Better" Mythic Nerþuz but she did the same thing. It wouldn't be until Summer Nerþuz where she finally became a functional unit, making the prior one's worthless. New Years Nerþuz gets hit the hardest since her sunmer variant came 5 months later, and at least the mythic version will get her refine sooner than never.
Safy. Her cleanse and healing is quite nice... if not for the fact that it only activates at the start of your turn and not during enemy phase. Now that we have so many debuff units, especially Attuned Micaiah (a genuine mistake of an addition to this game, among many this year) Safy just isn't all that useful. At least Freyr can stop debuffs outright and keep a unit like Micaiah from reaching her most dangerous threshold. Safy will cleanse you after the damage is already done. Unfortunate.
Rearmed Reinhardt: A fast Reinhardt who is extremely mediocre. It does not help that this irrelevant character gets pushed more than the main character of Thracia, but his latest alt doesn't do anything. No damage reduction piercing, his brave effect is conditional to you moving more than 2 spaces before attacking,
there is no desperation effect to potentially quad, he's stuck with an arcane weapon so his full potential is held back. Not a great showing. Even compared to the other fast glass cannons we have now like Summer Gullveig or Emblem Celica, he's not impressive in the least.
Rearmed Sothe. While he fares better than Reinhardt, his potential is also held back by his Rearmed prison. Bane doesn't do anything of real note unless the enemy is already super squishy and his weapon is just a stat swing with some damage reduction and Time's Pulse 3. Scowl dragons are not kind to the man, and neither is the lack of desperation. Can't KO an opponent if they live the first hit and KO with their retaliation. It also doesn't help that he is overshadowed by Attuned Micaiah and even mister Breath of Life 4 fodder.
Rearmed Lumera. Such a waste to get Mythic Lumera at the beginning of February only for another one to appear 3 months later. Between the two of them, I think Rearmed Lumera is the worse of the two. Her Arcane Fellstone, while better than the Grima, is a pretty underwhelming weapon in practice. I think it's worse off than both the New Sun Stone and Dragon's Stone for dragons. The only thing she has over her Mythic counterpart is that she has NFU and she can pierce DR when her special triggers. Considering her rearmed status, she doesn't hold the same value as mythic lumera. At least she gives you value during light season and will one day in the future (if the game gets that far) get a remix and refine. Rearmed Lumera has no prospects other than being able to duplicate potential new dragon skills. Kind of a tough sell when neither of the newest toys in High Dragon Wall or Dragon's Roar are all the useful compared to Laguz Friend from the Emblem menace.
To be extremely biased, the worst inclusions to this game this year definitely has to be Attuned Micaiah, Emblem Ike, Emblem Celica, Duo Lyon, and Nergal. Nergal is just tacked on by comparison but those 4 have definitely become extreme annoyances. I have no idea what they were thinking in adding these powerhouses to a game as limited as FEH is. Especially Emblem Celica. Giving her that much warping range in a game with puny maps is something only the people making this game would be stupid enough to do. Making an omnitank who outdoes everyone in the game is absolutely healthy for a game where you collect units. Making a unit who deletes all of your health as the combat begins and then inflicts a stall mechanic on your units was a genuine mistake. And of course adding a character who debuffs you into the ground and can't be debuffed herself else she turns them into buffs is yet again another decision that only IS would be stupid enough to make. It's crazy how unplayable the game has become in so little time. We're only a month away from the new brave units who will definitely have some stupid powercreep of their own, but I doubt they'll be on the level of these units. Who knows how much lower this game will go come the next couple months, let alone next year. Truly scary times these are.

I think it's cause IntSys generally starts a new "Generation" of heroes every Brave banner so it kinda makes sense for the "current year" to be the start and end of the Brave banners
Hard disagree on R!Lumera, +14 to all stats is monstrous and alongside LF4's true DR is much more effective than the comparatively small effect you get from the new year stones. As a unit she provides AoE dr in light season (downright vital for tanks as N!Igrene is the most common nuke) and it can't be stolen like Gotoh's support can. I regret not pulling her to kit out NY!Kana and support my light tanks
@@aqexbrown It depends but generally Dragon's Stone reducing damage by 20% of your Speed takes less damage than 40% first attack DR. Dragon's Stone also lets you run Dragon Roar if you want to use that. Imo, the survivability bonus helps more than the stat swing.

Brave Robin being here is hella questionable regardless (although I understand it), but man, the blatant misunderstanding here is insane.
Robin is a support nuke. He functions better as a support nuke because he comes with Hexblade + DR Piercing Bonfires that charge themselves, or he can pair up Laguz Friend + Gust and go for double Special activations with a source of CD + 1 (such as Nidavellir).
Running him as a full support ultimately misses the point of him. In SD, I’ll agree that he’s mid but he’s pretty great in AR - especially with the recent additions of Excel and Gust
Was honestly surprised to see Gullveig but mostly because I currently only have Summer Gullveig on my mind who is pretty darn cracked. I used to use Mythic Gullveig a lot when she came out, she was relatively decent given that she was brand new but then I just stopped. When I decided to pick her up again, I ran into those exact same problems: she dies before she can do any real damage. Sucks cause I really liked using her on release. Oh well, I have Summer Gullveig now at least.
I dont mind the Fallen Lyon refine, maybe Triangle Adept 4 in the future would work with his Triangle Adept status or provide some kind of type-advantage support to further secure those type matchups.

Honourable mention for units I've seen less than 5 times it not never:
In the regular pool: Febail (oof Spd/Res Hexblade), Mycen, Arlen, Isadora, Yukimura (I love his design, but damn he just does not work sadly)
And Ascended Merric.... like, the units I named were all 2 skills 5 stars, but Ascended Merric just straight up sucks. I think he had definetly deserved a spot on this list>
In the seasonal pool: Spring Franne (A weird kind of supportive omni-tank in the seasonal pool), Nabata Juno and Halloween Flayn... There's some other units that I don't think I've ever seen but I think they might have potential (NY Kvasir for example).
I'd add at least one of these units, probably Ascended Merric, and as for who I'd remove, I think the Heather allegations are more like, Ruse 4 allegations, she's a brave attacking self-refreshing unit, that's not as strong as it used to be but she's pretty good and damn fun to use.
I also think the video somewhat undersells that Brave Robin was actually good. For the first few months, up until the winter banner I actually ran him in a far extending Catria Ball where he jumpscared and killed quite some opponents. When you read his weapon now I'd agree it does just so little for him, but his C-slot is still amazingly for supporitve reasons and he can actually run builds like Laguz Friend 4 with either Godlike Refexes or Gust now
The fact that my OG Eliwood straight up outreses L!M!Corrin and proceeds to any/phase him is an absolute embarassment. Gen 1 unit folks. Yeah he is decked out in a few things, but seriously, your kit revolves around the idea of having higher res than the foe's res, most of your kit just stops. Thanks Eliwood, for having high res and being a decent dragon slayer because of it.

Good list but I don't really agree with Reinhardt's placement. I feel his only really aged better over time esecially the fact that he actually has a good A-skill option compared to other cavs since BoL4.
Kind of agree, (he's my fav and destroys with resonance + desp 💔 ) only problem is he has to wait... and wait... and wait..... for a better weapon. Euphoria is decent but it's missing a lot of stats compared to new arcanes.
And in 1 year he might not even be good anymore :(
I think what’s nice about feh though, is that every unit can work with the right team. Not to mention new skills are always being introduced. So there’s never a need to feel like your favorite unit is unuseable, unless it’s selena or something
Funny how Brave Tiki went from absolute garbage to a fairly good unit in the last few months just with inheritance. The copy paste build of D Bonus Doubler, Laguz Friend, Breath of Life, Guard Echo works perfectly on her. I might even argue she is the 2nd best unit of cyl 7 right now after Chrom.

I love my ReArmed Reinhardt, but WOW they dropped the ball on that brave condition. Granted on defense teams it's not really that bad but like....why? When I use him I have to place him in a bad position just to get the brave condition. It sucks. 😂
Lyons refines isn't the worst. He is pretty good on my AR-D. Though it would be nice if we had more units to that can grant cancel affinity.

Honestly, as someone who got Heather from the anniversary free seasonal, she's suddenly a lot better as an on demand source of penalties and exposure -- pretty big deal in the AttMicaiah meta.
I run her in ARD and she can snipe a lot with the forward rally, Celica ring and TP/Lethality. Is she Duo Robin? No, but I don't feel like I need her.

Legendary M!Corrin is terrible with his base kit but the moment you start putting even a little bit of inheritance and support into him, he will grow into a genuinely great tank. He appreciates heavy investment more than 99% of the entire modern cast.
I don’t think he belongs anywhere near this list, honestly. Putting a base kit L!M!Corrin up against other units with zero external support when most tanks need that to shine is a bit misleading, and leaving his base kit on isn’t reflective of what the unit can actually do.

@@Alexdestiny21 I use mine with Firestorm Boost and Odd Spd Wave 4. Those two skills grant him a good amount of Speed, Guard, and NFU, all effects that were missing from his base kit. Thanks to the Phantom Res from HDW and some support, he hasn’t missed a Res check against anything so far and his performance has been so much better since I helped him out.
@@AceBountyHunterRex Firestorm Boost and Odd Spd Wave. They give him a good amount of Spd, NFU, and Guard, which he was missing from his base kit. His Res hasn’t failed me at all thanks to it being naturally high + HDW. He’s been so much more consistent at killing and surviving foes with those two plus standard support units.

I get robins firepower is lacking, but he was on my defense for ~6 months purely because he was tricky and offered special ramping support. I used him with Arval to ramp directly into a SS4 backed glacies and it merked most things pre-ike. It was really Veyle and Ike coming out that limited its viability

I heavily disagree about Heather, I think that units that can act after rallies are super valuable and I think shes the next best one after Spring Sylvain in my book.
I think that the main point corrin is to defend most magic blue that kills like which usually does a kinda well
Re watching this, I'd replace Heather with Legendary Camilla.
The hype for her was through the roof as everyone assumed she'd be the best Water Legendary for eternity thanks to the insane Pre-Combat damage she had as well as the fact that she gives damage reduction piercing to your team.
However, now that most new units (and units in general) have easier access to damage reduction piercing, her support goes from incredible to, nice to have at best. So her support isn't anything special. So she's pretty much only valuable because of her combat now. And even that isn't the best anymore since 1) Duo Lyon is even better than her in that regard, is blessable, and has his end turn nonsense. And like Lyon, she was nerfed HARD by Breath of Life 4.
So her combat isn't that good, her support isn't that good, and her fodder is either outdated or can be used on other sparkable units. Why should I bother using Legendary Camilla? She was really good when she came out, and is still usable to say the least. But now a days, there's no way I'd call her the best Water Legendary. Hell, I'd argue her NINJA variant is better than her now, and Ninja camilla came out over a year before Legendary Camilla.

Halloween Flayn was my most dissapointing unit.
If she was released in 2022 or 2021, she'd be broken. But the thing is, most of the effects she gives are stuff that units already have. And her drive damage reduction is piercable. Hell, I consider her to be WORSE than Elimine, who's already fallen off tremendously.
And we waited over 3 years for this.
I'll be honest, I actually really like using L! Male Corrin. While he is no Emblem Ike and not even the best dragon omnitank that we have currently. He still provides nice support, I actually really like the water terrain and his kill power and survivability in my experience have been better in practice than in theory. On his own of course he will die to a lot of units, but that is literally with most of the units in this game. Even L! Male Alear, the best dragon omnitank there is currently gets killed quite effortlessly without his allies. So overall while he isn't anything too crazy, he is still a solid unit and among the better ones in the fire legendaries category. I prefer him over L! Female Alear for sure and the only ones I'd really put above him would be L! Hinoka and L! Lilina.
Truthfully I prefer that this happen than having units always being broken 😂

Kvasir is easily the worst, Gullveig can often sneak through the enemy team, kill 3 supports and secure 0 lift loss. Kvasir's whole trick never worked even on release, so her best build became Devoted Basket+ (burn damage at home). Because of this she suffered from BoL 4's introduction far more than D!Lyon did and now just has to pray the enemy doesn't bring it
Goldmary really needs to stop telling people to look at her. 16 res cripples her, worse than Male Corrin's 27 I might add.
Robin as one of my eventually merge projects. I love his teleport and support abilities + his art. But damn they really had to powercreep this year so hard with this broken emblem thrash idea.... PLS STOP bashing your F2P playerbase. You literaly can´t summon for mythic/emblem or you waste all your orbs and miss everything else. They push the fomo harder then any game i ever played! Also Lyon's refine is legit a worse version of Maribelle's staff refine (which I think two or more years old) cause she can also pass the cancel affinity effect (even though hers requires her to initiate).
