When I call it bad, I mean from a casual perspective (aka I shouldn’t have to go through hoops/have prior knowledge to apparently use a mechanic well). And it’s even worse if you’re like me and have spent 90% of your time in Fates playing randos. I do not need to be told what the boring meta is for Fire Emblem games. Instead, I’d rather hear about FE yuri or smthn.

I mean he's really cool, kind of lacking early game but he's a free recruit so just waiting a bit and recruiting later is fine, really good archer, usually strong enough to forgo hunters volley and go bow knight for the amazing movement and help even more with link attacks,the might support with byleth helps the both out a lot and worse case scenario he's probably the best byleth adjutant since flayn has a really late join and misses all of CF, also he's bisexual so I guess in ng+ both Byleths get that outrageous +5 might from the s rank Diversity win
FCorrin would be better for this I think because Witch who gets warp is female exclusive. Though I guess MCorrin can go Grandmaster to get ignis and rally spectrum

I will take that L, but also seems kinda funny because Sakura and Hayato are the best mages in Fates (in my experience). Sakura is generally broken, tbh. I can’t say much for Conquest’s units, but I do remember the mages there also being kind of trash. Perhaps I simply get the worst luck with mages in Fates. 😔
@@theoreticallymoss Actually I would say magic units in Conquest are even more busted than their birthright counterparts. The youtuber Zoran made a bunch of videos where Odin and Ophelia trivialize some of the hardest maps in the game.
In conquest Mages are probably at their best Ophelia paralogue gives you horse spirit and calamity gate, it’s insane Odin is a beast, Ophelia is great, Leo is great, Elise is great, only actually bad mage is Nyx and even then she’s like kind of overhated
@@theoreticallymoss Mages suck without any means to navigate weapon triangle. You NEED the tomes from Ophelia's paralogue for any mage to truly shine in Conquest. If you can get those, magic goes from mid to the best weapon type. I'll contend that the strongest Corrin is a magic boon malig knight with horse spirit. This combo gets an insane def stack due to dusk yato, the horse spirit, and any of the maid pair ups or Gunter. Corrin can just fly all over the map, not take damage and become enemy phase Jesus and God, this works even on Lunatic. Corrin will take 0 damage from the master ninjas in ninja cave with Calamity Gate, and I was able to stack her to 49 defense on the Iago chapter.
I find it kinda funny the Thomas the Tank Engine mounts are never addressed. Is this on a capture card through 3DS or emulated? Because I could not get through chapter 1 on Citra without the game crashing

Honestly I don't like magic in 3 houses more. Felt so little to use. Meanwhile the warp and rescue were great as they reset every map making them so good to grind and get your mc to beat the boss to speed clear. Echoes the healers and their fixed accuracy is never fun. Wish it started at 60 and went up as time went on
In FE3H it kinda depends on the character, for example I always found hapi really underwhelming while lysithea is an absolute killing machine by mid game
Without reclassing or stat boosters, Azura has about an 8.6% chance of reaching 30+ HP by level 40. Of course, reclassing for higher class bases/growths and more opportunities to level up can significantly increase that.
Don't question for thomas the tank... don't question it.... but why? Anyway i feel like magic in 3H is slightly annoying especially the beginning part when students have only about 3-5 times spell usage. In the middle part it is not so noticable with more spells tho.
I love magic in fates. I dont like some of the weapon balancing in the game ourely because it feels like im discouraged from playing with cool weapons xause they're kinda strictly worse. not being able to crit isnt usually my issue though, its not being able to trigger skills and follow-up attacks. Of course, Wary fighter is a fun skill that can make one of those two things into an advantage, using strong non-followup weapons against enemies who are just strictly nerfed, but i digress.

Uh, the class provides very spread out growths, but that can be worked around by knowing a unit’s growths. Like, Effie still has ridiculous strength and speed growths, so make her a maid and give her a good weapon and she should clean up house. I assume Benny would be a decent butler (assuming you can turn him into one) if you really need a defensive wall. This is def the kind of run I’d use a Fates stat calculator for to track the effective growths of units to see who would be hypothetically useful.

Spirit Horse is the most idiotic spell in the game, +3 to speed and both defenses? Bolt Axe is another top tier weapon, expecially on Malig Corrin and Elise, heck even Camilla can use it properly with a good pair up bot The tragedy is that the best mages for the post part, are the hybrids since they don't die to a glare. Corrin, Camilla, Wyvern Elise and Paladin Sakura are among the most effective magic users. Even Nichol, the boss of Sophie's paralogue, is a better mage than pure mages
Do you really get boots from killing Shura in Revelation? I never killed him in that route myself; he was too strong. Putting him and a level 9 Nyx on the same map is an absolute joke.
I do, in fact, like the weapon system in Fates (excluding the double-layer weapon triangle). As someone who has a decent understanding of game design (I have an education in this stuff), it’s pretty damn good. I get people who hate it, though.

@@kittenfan7664that’s fair and I get why people feel that way. I’m personally fine with the drawbacks of losing str for being overly reliant on strong weapons. It makes use of your weapons more strategic. Instead of always using a silver weapon, you may just use it to delete a single problematic enemy. Also, I find the “halves your str/mag” weapons super funny. Mostly because it’s really easy to get around this issue (back-up attacks are your friend there). It’s a smart way to disincentivize over-using things like brave weapons and stuff, similar to them being super expensive/low durability in other games.
I came here for Fates and then suddenly Persona. What about P4G puts it in F? I didn't play P4, only Golden on PC. What did P3R do/change to be so much lower than the other P3 entries? I will respect your P5 and P5R placements and the dancing games are whatever. Those are all of the games I've played.
A short version is P4G is a horror to play as a queer person (somehow even moreso than P4 was). And P3R was essentially P5: P3 edition (it lost a LOT of the artistic value that exists in other P3 versions).
