These knots truly have their foot on my neck 🥲.
Gorl same 😭😭😭
Me too!
Yesss😤
Same over here 😭
Me too ugh I can’t get rid of em
Apply flaxseed gel on your ends, it will "freeze" them basically and prevent your ends to move
Or a moisturizing mousse with good hold. Good idea 👌🏽
Stay on top of trimming your single stranded knots. If you wait too long to seek them out and cut them off, that can & will create even more knots more breakage and slow down achieving longer length. Also knots can occur anywhere along the hair shaft. You can find them at top, middle or the ends so just trimming your ends is not enough to keep single strand knots at Bay...
This is so true! I have found many more at around 2.5- 3 ins up the shaft of my hair and sometimes even higher up! Thanks for sharing.😘
My split ends and fairy knots can go half way up if not all the way up my hair, it's ridiculous
Please consider wearing a protective style for a while, and trim, trim, trim.
First, I'd like to say thank you for taking the time out to help women like myself with this super underrated situation.
We can’t do puffs or fros or even wash and go more than 2 days or it’s gonna be knot after knot!
100% over my afro! My hair grows but I have to trim and cut constantly so it seems like it doesn’t grow!!
Your hair looks so lush and dark, it’s flourishing 😍😍🥰
You are literally so fun to watch 🥺😊
ima blow dry my hair soon and trim my split ends! i realize everytime i clip my ends it feel better
Blowdrying your hair regularly is the best way to get rid of them
Im asian and have very coarse, medium density and pin straight hair and I get single strand knots once or twice every 2 month even if my hair is super healthy as it doesn't have split ends. Like I really can't find any ressource to take care of my hair.
You're so right that regular wash days will help to avoid problems. This is solid advice! Thanks for the video girlie!!!
Your laughter is infectious as I do admire your sense of humour. I love your video. Very good advice.
Awwww thank you ☺️ you must be my kinda person if you like my sense of humor 😂💕
Best video this was very helpful thanks so much
The smile though 😍😍
Thank you so much, they are so irritating. You are right more hair more Problems. But a beautiful one..
Such a beautiful smile.
These knots are a pain and if I comb my hair with a small tooth comb they can get caught in the teeth of the comb and cause strands to snap off. I love your sense of humor about our curly lamb's wool. It can be challenging and seems to have a mind of its own 🙂.
I did a protein treatment that was too strong for my hair … it made my hair get lots of single knots because it made my curls super tight.
Yeaaa you gotta be careful with to protein treatments 😬 I did a video in those recently. If you aren’t putting lots of heat or color on your hair then you probably don’t even need protein at all.
New subbie! Love your personality 😂❤
New subbie 😊 love your sense of humor. My hair is always in mini braids but i get single strand knots some times at the end of my hair even in the braids! And its annoying. I'll start pre pooing weekly when I wash. Thank you
I have this habit of picking on my fairy knots and just snapping the strand in half
Thank you so much I realized I don't detangle my hair often😬 no wonder
Thank you
I struggle with this so much.
Me too, but you got this! I hope these tips will help combat them a bit!
The trim worked for me too
Chilee I do everythingg and they still somehow appear 😩
FACTS!
The only thing that worked for me was getting my hair cut straight/blow dried. After that I alternated between a straight cut and a curly cut. No more single stand knots.
@@yahsdaughter2535 Yup! Blunt cuts cure this each and every time!
Being a blow dried natural has helped me tremendously with single strand knots, I get them wayyy less now
I trim and they still come back :/
Great video!!
Thank you so much! What did you like most about it, and what was most helpful?
Fairy knots and single strand knots are truly awful. I've been seeing some more success lately by stretching my hair with my Revair, but I'm still a little worried that this may not be the best course of action for my hair. I also really love your hair band by the way!
If you have a low porosity hair moisturizing your ends with distilled water nightly might help I live in a dry climate and it's helping me. ...And you don't have to add more sure to your whole head because spreads in your hands will travel up the hair shaft...
I’m in the exact same boat! Idk if Revair is helping or not… I mean it dries my hair frfr but the dry hair makes it worse!!
And why would I dry my hair just to put moisturizer BACK into it….??? Idk, dude!
Im just trying to figure out how people in the 70s were able to have their hair big and out everyday. I got about 3 hours before my hair is knotted up. I cut it completely off after aboit a year every year for this reason and I'd like to finally let it grow out uuugh
They kept her hair stretched. They braided it at night and picked it out in the morning. They also wore a lot of wigs
Stay so fro and Afro sheen 😂
I'm in need of serious help up into like a year ago. I've never dealt with " fairy 🧚♂️ knots" ! I literally have them in my entire head of hair. I cut my entire head of hair off, too, to be met by these annoying tho
I’m just about ready to shave it all off.😩
So true…. And I do exactly as you say to minimize them❤
From a high porosity strand (😂) point and as my hair continues to grow longer…I stay on top….
Weekly: Prepoo, wash, condition and keep my hair in 2 strand twist 90% of the time. Invest in a shower filter has helped as well. And finger detangle is a must for me.
Do you use a comb at all?
@@MT-yx5cu no
@@roselindthomas1 oh wow! I want to do this because I really feel like combing is breaking my fine strands. My hair webs easily-it's long and dense type 4. Up until a week ago I primarily wore it in medium twists. Im doing mousse only wash and gos now because I want to enjoy my hair more and Im loving it. What is your finger detangling technique and how long is your hair?
Are you type 4?
I had to cut a couple inches off because of these knots 😢 it’s been rough
Thank you ❤❤❤
New subscriber 🥰
I have to cut my knots out
I have chronic single strand knots and idk why 😭 I trim so often and I’m so gentle with my hair. wearing my hair straight has helped a little but they just won’t stop! I detangle my hair so gently with just my fingers and starting from the ends idk what to do . I don’t want to big chop again I’ve big chopped like 5 times in my life I’m not doing that again LOL
I don't think you should do a chop, single strand knots are very normal, i would say that every curly head has them. They're not something you can get rid of completely unless you cut off your whole hair, the amount of knots is what makes a difference. Cutting the ones you find would be the best way. Also protective styles, braids, buns etc
Our hair is super curly which keeps natural oils and hydration from getting to the ends of our hair strands, hence why our ends are dry and breaking off. Certain products can actually dry out my hair causing more curliness and dryness. I find that hydrating from the inside out and using omega fatty acids (flaxseeds, nuts, olive oil, etc.) in my diet help to, not only, slow down the knots, but help my hair to shine and grow. I've never done the big chop, but I do trim often.
@@diamond4270 5 years ago I never got a single knot… I’ve been natural my entire life. It’s annoying.
Thx.. soo basically I gotta get back yontwkung. Carre of my hair.. yeah I get it...thx a bunch!..
How does your hair not have like permanent bends in it from the scrunchie
When u say trim do u mean trim the whole thing or like only the ends also should u cut all the hairs with knots? Or...
They are all over the lengths of my hair and I don’t wanna chop my hair off :((((
Then you have to slide your finger down every strand of hair in your head and seek out single strand knots and cut them off that's the only alternative to ✂️ your hair off
girl you cannot prevent these just get regular trims and you will be good i promise!
I would recommend the search and destroy method evey 3 to 6 months in between regular trims . I get mine half way up the strand too. But once you do what u can just rest assure they are inevitable as long as the majority of your hair is healthy then your on the right track
To avoid fairy knots stop using products with oil and butters in the first five ingredients. Oil and water.do not mix and the oil is drying your hair out. Meaning your hair is dehydrated and don't air dry your hair. I learn this from 30 day detox natural hair. I did it and my hair doesn't have any single strand knots anymore. My curls were defined for up to three days. This is my first week of the detox
So oil causes fairy knots? Then what else can we use to avoid the knots?? Please help what products do you use?
ANything else you learned from them that you'd like to share? I'm starting to use foam for my hair as well.
@@tull1207 Making sure you condition and detangling thoroughly! Trims help too.
I can definitely see how this would work well. I added butter to the ends of my hair while styling it yesterday and I nearly immediately ended up with a knot that I had to cut out. Lesson learned, never again lol
@@FineNaturalHairROCKS So if you're not adding butter or oils to your hair after washing, what do you use Queen? I'd love some tips
as a spanish speaker the 1:42 was much appreciated 😂👍🏾
yaaaaay!! This made me so happy to read!! I want to be fluent in spanish soooo bad. I feel like I need to go to a spanish speaking country to immerse myself.
I detangling my hair every day. I thought this was normal. Doesn’t everybody doing over here every day?
My hair doesn’t look how I want it to until like a week after a detangle if I do it every week it’s gonna be hard to get the style I want
It sounds like you may need to spend more time smoothing and clumping your curls during wash day. I think that would solve your problem (let me know if curl clumping isn’t the reason). I am going to do a video on curl clumping soon though. I’ve learned a lot more about the wash day process that I’d like to share with y’all.
So. I have these problems and I do as you said but I just feel a little bit better at the same time I have hair falling problems although it's not too much, I'm very shortage with hair 😅. So, what will be the best option to keep my hair healthy ☺️? Thank you.
same issue. did you find anything that helped you yet?
Trimming doesn’t help me. I will cut 3-4 inches off and they’ll come back the next day. My hair seems dry but refuses to absorb moisture. Ugh. I have found any products that work. I’ve been natural my entire life. I’m 30.
What is your hair routine? What does an average wash day look like, what do you do in between wash day, and how long do you wait between wash days?
Have you tried the LOC or LCO method to retain moisture? Each method works on separate hair porosities and once I figured that out, I was able to keep moisture in my hair for 4 days before I have to touch up again. And I would have less knots and breakage due to moisture
Try using clarifying shampoo.may be u have product build up.
@@evetamasawe3150 I don’t use products because it just sits on my hair. 😂😂
Will a diffuser attachment also work? ☺️
Absolutely!! Preferably with an ionic blow dryer ☺️
The wash and go paradox. Humph. There's no GO part after washing. Wash and Go...go deep condition, go rinse, go put on your leave in, oil/cream. Go Style. Go to bed cause gurrl! Your girl is TIRED!
🤯🤯
The worst🙄🙁😩
Hold up I heard Spanish... ¿Eres Latina?
It’s the thumbnail for me, sisssss. 🤍
