    I find that the gel applied during my wash-n-gos minimizes the knots also. Thank you for the information.

      Now that is a great point! Gels have ingredients that help with slip making it easier for hair to pass through - you know my brain looks information! Hopefully Deann will see your response as well 🤗

      Since I’ve started washing my hair twice a week, get trims every 3 months and apply a botanical gel directly to my hair I haven’t had single strand knots.

    So true! I wouldn't detangle my hair in between washes to keep definition and I had a lot more fairy knots. Now I finger detangle 3 times a week and they are rare I also use oil like you mentioned. Very good points. I still have a few but much less than before🎉❤

    After washing I will put my hair in plats or twists to sctrech it. The next day or when you want to style you'll notice less knots. Keeping your hair in a streched state cuts down knots too. ❤️

    Hi karen! This was a great video. I never heard of an oil rinse so that is something I will keep in mind if I'm dealing with a lot of fairy knots.

    Great video! Thank you! Could you share one of your go to protein treatments with us?

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  2 года назад +1

      Hello 1SewSweet! A pretty good protein treatment is Aphogee 2 step protein treatment/reconstructor. You first apply the liquid protein, sit under hooded dryer for about 20 minutes. Rinse it out and apply a moisturizer conditioner. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and rinse out. I also like Curl Junkie Repair Me Reconstructive Hair Treatment, and Hydrathermal Naturals Amino Plus Protein Conditioning Treatment. Give one a try!

    Hi Karen, can I use aloe in my hair as a protein treatment. If so, how often can I use it?

    Hi Karen. Your hair is the best on RUclips ❤. I'm all gray and my wash and go haven't been successful yet. Another you tuber said that maybe I should not use a leave in conditioner because it makes my hair to soft and to also always ALWAYS sit under a dryer to lock in my definition. Do not air dry. Will you please do a video addressing gray wash and go fails? Thank you. I'll try to add on a picture of my hair.

      THANK YOU SO MUCH! I really appreciate it! And YES! I will do a video for you! And yes -- when you sit under the dryer is does LOCK IN the definition more than air dry, but that is also contingent upon personal preference and styling product. Your issue seems to be more around the curl definition in general -- even before the dryer. But yes, let me think this one through and will create a video within the month. Thank you for following and trusting me with your hair care. 💜

      Hi Karen I keep my ends lubricated when I wear my hair in twist or twist outs, it helps. The few I get, I just cut the knot off. I also trim as needed.

    Hello, which product brand do you recommend for hair protein and white shea butter?

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  2 года назад +3

      Hello there! Check out Brambleberry.com for the white shea butter. Also, for protein you can try Aphogee -- this is very concentrated, make sure you followup with a moisturizing conditioner; also consider Curl Junkie Repair Me, or Hydrathermal Naturals Amino Plus Protein Conditioning Treatment

    Just found out about single strand knots and the breakage is completely excessive...can someone recommend some products for a protein treatment and oil rinse? I'm truly upset about the amount of breakage I'm experiencing due to them 😥
