Love how Lord Malice is so one-dimensionally evil that he can't even bear to _pretend_ to act sweet as the prince for so much as a second.

5:48- Evil Queen: go and kill Snow White!
Huntsman: what about your sorcerer brother that’s able to turn into a wyvern? It seems like that makes more sense.
Evil Queen: He’s just there as an unofficial sequel villain backup, don’t question my logic.

I'd like to add two cardinal musical sins, if I may...
    1) Not enough songs. Are you a musical or not?
    2) No songs for the main characters. Is it really more important that we know how Scowl, Thunderella, and MOTHER NATURE feel, than it is to know how Snow White or Lord Maliss feel?
I do kind of have soft spot for "Thunderella's Song" though. I enjoy 80s cheese (even if it's technically from the 90s) and I'm a big fan of Tracey Ullman.
To me, Batso is the most annoying character. I don't think he's really good-natured, just a passive-aggressive contrarian.

    • @MusicalHell

Yeah, agree on not enough songs and not enough of the main characters singing or even being focused on. Side characters sing the only villain song? And it's terrible. I clicked on this thinking, "WAS it a musical though? Were there songs in it?" And yes, apparently now that I think about it, there were... And they sucked. And the original Snow White had the prince and princess falling for each other in love at first song. So why not have them sing a duet? There's a lot of wasted potential in this.

Storywise: I would have had the Shadowman either help Snow Whire more and much earliar (maybe show him guiding her to the Dwarves’ house) our show him as a unwilling servant trying to fight back and keep her safe
Also, maybe a curse where they can’t be together, or he can’t tell her who he truly is, SOMETHING

    • @kenthuang436
      @kenthuang436 Год назад +4

My big change to the movie would be that Snow White has Thunderella’s arc of doubting herself and thinking that she can’t save the Prince because she is just a princess and has no training to do knight stuff and saving people. The Dwarfelles help Snow White along the way and give her encouragement to overcome the challenges Lord Malice throws at her. Eventually she manages to fight off Malice’s forces and faces him herself and he tries to play mind games with her and tells her that she is weak and helpless and Snow White declares that she isn’t weak or helpless and gains the courage to overpower malice and save the Prince and the day. The idea of the princess being the one to save the Prince is such a good idea for a movie and could work really well if the movie is written well enough.

She cared for the Shadowman as dearly as the prince, despite having just met him. I know he saved her life and all but it sort of makes it apparent just how unnaturally quick romances go forward in fairy tale movies. She was kissed awake in the original story by someone she never knew and so she decided she'd marry him. Shadowman could have easily replaced the prince if he weren't the prince himself and they never found him. I really wouldn't be comfortable with that if I was the prince.

The one itty-bitty saving grace I'd award this is that at least the quality of the animation is better than most of what Filmation did for TV. (Not that many of their shows weren't rather well-written, but you could really spot the limited animation after watching them for a few minutes.)
The funny thing is...this isn't the first sequel Filmation did for Snow White. They did a TV special around the late seventies or early eighties called A Snow White Christmas that had to do with Snow's daughter (also named Snow White). I remember seeing it on TV as a kid.

But was not a traditional princess). I do remember the chase scene, but it was very different to this movie. I do not remember any of this music or this movie at all. Blush Muffin It's a really odd feeling indeed! I've experienced something similar with The Thief and the Cobbler. Before I found out its name, I could only remember four particular scenes from the movie, as well as watching it in a foreign language, but after actually finding it and reading about its history, I discovered that I had very inaccurate memories of said scenes: different dialogue and character design, things that never happened, etc. Moreover, I can't for the life of me even say where I watched it (none of my relatives had it). It's both funny and interesting how distorted certain childhood memories can become.

You could easily take out all the water in a lake and shape it into a gigantic orb and have it float in the air and then shove some people into it and make them drown or release said water on an unsuspecting town and flood the entire place causing massive death and destruction in less than a minute. Think of that type of power as being Hurricane Katrina on steroids.

Ever After High is my fucking jam. It's surprisingly really, really good, and tackles unusually adult issues like living up to society's expectations and even death with a mature yet child-friendly tone. You'd think that it would be as popular as Steven Universe or MLP, but almost no one talks about it.

    A Snow White Christmas
Where the evil queen comes back to life, finds Show White is older but still fairer, along with her daughter who is also named Snow White.
She sends a blizzard to turn the entire kingdom into ice and the younger Snow White with her friend/servant/brother/sidekick (the relationship is never clear) and finds help in the dwarves other cousins, the seven friendly giants.

I like how it’s the Princess that must save the Prince for once. That is extremely rare to see in any media outside of video games. That type of plot device has so much potential to deviate from the norm but still make some sense. The only times I can think that the princess saves the prince are The Little Mermaid when Ariel saves Eric from drowning, Pocohantas stops John Smith’s execution, Cinderella III A Twist In Time, and Belle when she goes to stop the angry mob from storming the castle.

I think that the voice actors and actresses did a pretty decent job in this movie and that most of the songs were decent in movie soundtrack songs go and that the plot was slightly better and much stronger than Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night. This movie didn’t jump to random and unnecessary scenes and did a good job focusing most of the movie on Snow White and what she had to do to save the Prince. It’s also interesting to see a Princess need to save the Prince for once and turns the cliché trope upside down. Only thing is the story could have been a bit better and had Snow White have Thunderella’s arc where doubts herself when it comes to saving the Prince but the Dwarfelles encourage her to overcome challenges along the way and she learns that real courage and strength comes from within yourself and will always come shining through when challenges get in the way.

It then turns out they never talk about him much because he was more annoying than evil. Why? His "evil plan" was to put skulls on anything and everything using his Artifacts of Skullo-Magic. 11:37- the existence of Mother Nature in this Snow White unofficial sequel adds more questions than answers. If she’s a short walk away from the dwarfs, why didn’t she go outside to stop the Queen from poisoning Snow White. Is she a recluse, indifferent to anything that happens at the dwarfs’ house or does her powers somehow have no range outside her realm to stop an apparently powerless lady disguised as a peddler woman, one without anything that isn’t potion based? Or was the random lightning strike that killed the Evil Queen caused by Mother Nature to inflict karma or Thunderella by accident. Maybe the dwarfs should’ve trusted Snow White to their cousins and boss that control Nature itself instead of a little warning and no other protection alternatives.

  • @animefan77

13:11- Even worse as he did it twice outside of his realm, but apparently sending rhino/dinosaur wolves after her or turning her to stone with his cape that could backfire on him over turning into a wyvern to just kill her; or alternatively kill her under the guise of her beloved prince would be too dark for a kid's story apparently.

I think in the original cut Maliss was a little darker, the loads had a better attack on Maliss and a couple other scenes were cut to make it more ‘kid friendly’ and ‘marketable’. Sadly I doubt an uncut version could be released because the cut footage hasn’t been found after all this time.
