Hoodwinked actually has a good plot despite the god awful animation. These movies had no idea what they were trying to do and the plot was terrible lol
@@Giaella10 yes! I remember I went with my mom and grandma and we thought the movie would be in Spanish (we’re Hispanic) but it ended up being in English with no subtitles so my mom and grandma had no idea what was being said through the whole thing and had no idea why I was laughing but I loved the movie xD
it's funnier knowing that the little cat guy mambo is voiced by the evil bunny from hoodwinked, and they're both supposed to be edgy little malicious pricks
I honestly loved this movie as a kid. The animation was subpar but it had a style I loved, and the story had the first fairytale twist I yearned to see again in a sequel (sadly that didn't happen). The DVD was a rarity, as they had alternate special features depending on which side of the story scale you tipped to (Good vs Evil). The menus were fun to traverse. And the characters were actually a joy to watch despite the overwhelming, wacky energy that packed the scenes. Plus the best song (Get What I Want/Want What I Get) is sadly not found in soundtrack rips or even on RUclips in good quality??? You can only find lower quality videos in 240p or slightly better quality ones that rip the music number straight from the movie.

This is why in this book titled Searching for Dragons, Rumplestiltskin has the same problem. But the solution comes around where the kingdoms agree to pay him so that his house becomes a boarding school for young royalty where they are taught proper manners before returning to their kingdoms. He was frustrated at first because he didn't even want to do the guessing game but felt like it was something he had to do because tradition. And of course the princesses were too dumb to guess his name so he would wind up with another child. It was hilarious.
This and the sequel are my childhood and I would get so hyped when they came on TV. Absolute cinematic masterpieces, they deserve Oscars, Emmys, all of them

i always did this thing as a kid where i’d keep the same dvd in the dvd player for like 3 weeks straight and watch the same movie over and over, and i did that with this movie MULTIPLE times ?? and no i could not tell you anything about the actual plot
I used to watch this movie all the time cause i owned the DVD, along with other bad CGI 2000's movies, like obsessively. Despite that, I barely remember the plot. Now that I'm an adult, I don't understand what made me watch this so much. I'm like...THIS shaped my childhood??? Is this why I'm mentally ill?? Was i just ahead of my time? I'm stumped.
i remember this movie so vividly. i saw it on netflix as a little kid and thought it was a masterpiece and watched it like 10 times (the second one specifically)
I have a very vivid memory of seeing a DVD of this movie in a walmart many many years ago, but never saw it and was always curious how it was, definitely interesting to finally learn about after so long.
I remember my family rented this movie when I was a kid and I was very :\ about Rick and it is very gratifying many years later to have somebody validating my feelings on him having incel vibes.
I remember, long ago, my dad just saved this movie and its sequel (yes, there's a sequel, somehow) on one of our disks one day, out of nowhere, and I just kinda forgot about it. This video just brought it all back. Man, I love when the internet just unlocks a deep, faded memory.
So, I never watched this as a kid BUT we did have the sequel on DVD. My sister and I would watch it all the time and yet I barely remember anything about it. Thank you for unlocking this deep fever dream like memory
12:38 lmao that was the funniest part of the video, imo. Watched this movie as a kid and never really paid attention to the chef's faces. Looking back on this movie as a 23 year old adult, I can assume it was a failed attempt at competing against Shrek (given the whole "Fairy Tale Land" trope). Still, there was some potential in there.
I used to watch movies on my DVD player as a kid. If I remember correctly it was the movie trailer I generally saw the most. I never fully understood the plot and would always wonder what I had just watched, until I was at the play movie menu.
Oh boy I remember this movie real well. Specifically the DvD menus where you got to choose an evil/good option at the start that'd change the styles of main menu. I honestly can't remember the second one outside of it being Snow White based. Also the Rumpelstiltskin stealing babies has several theories depending on the origin of the tale, but there is one strong theory I have. Imps (which is what technically Rumpelstiltskin is) crave human attention. However they can hardly get it from them as most humans associate imps as servants of chaos. So raising one without that bias would be valuable than all the gold in the world. Meaning he probably stole babies as an attempt of getting companionship. Why the miller/princess agreed to this was because she was going to likely die or be imprisoned for life if she didn't complete her task. Technically making it a life for a life.
this is literally the best childrens movie ever. it feels like a dream its literally my favorite movie subconsciously if you remind me of this film i know all the lore and dialog somehow but if i have to think of it without the words being spoken to me i dont remember this shit. when i saw this video, my frontal lobe developed, and my thoughts sprouted. anyways, hi!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Ever now and then I would think about this movie. I thought it was just a dream I had! And when I saw it on HBO I decided to check it out again. The movie sucks but it was so much fun to remember this movie😊❤
i love watching commentary videos about movies - so excited to watch this one :)
Thank u ahh I love to see your name :) it makes me so happy

you’ve just brought back a childhood memory this movie terrified me when i was younger but i loved it
Watched this movie every weekend with my brother. Could never forget. Will never forget. The best movie to ever exist. Cured my depression.
i always did this thing as a kid where i’d keep the same dvd in the dvd player for like 3 weeks straight and watch the same movie over and over, and i did that with this movie MULTIPLE times ?? and no i could not tell you anything about the actual plot
I liked fairytales and the idea of it as a kid.
The only thing I remember about this movie is the sexy stepmom, which explains a lot about me as an adult bc now I’m gay💀
Mmm, I don’t know if I’d totally agree with calling her sexy. Maybe if she had Amy Winehouse’s hair I’d probably agree.
I remember this film so vividly, how dare you bring this movie up, now i need to rewatch it, i haven't seen it since i was like 13
YOU JUST UNLOCKED MEMORY so deep omg, the characters are so familiar yes I feel like I haven't thought about this movie since 2006 once!
I used to have to sequel on DVD and I’m just now realizing that there was a Happily Never After 1
i remember this movie so vividly. i saw it on netflix as a little kid and thought it was a masterpiece and watched it like 10 times (the second one specifically)
I've never seen this movie but that little pink cat guy has stuck in my brain forever.
nikki made this movie tolerable and scrubbed my sores
I was obsessed with this movie as a very little kid. I would play it constantly in the car on road trips on repeat in the car's like dvd player.
oh my god i LOVED this movie. i used to watch this literally every day as a kid. thank you for reminding me of this film but also, im traumatised
I have a very vivid memory of seeing a DVD of this movie in a walmart many many years ago, but never saw it and was always curious how it was, definitely interesting to finally learn about after so long.
I remember my family rented this movie when I was a kid and I was very :\ about Rick and it is very gratifying many years later to have somebody validating my feelings on him having incel vibes.
this was like, my FAVORITE movie as a kid 😭 i watched it hundreds of times 💔
This is what you get when you mix Shrek with Hoodwinked with a bit of emperor's new groove 🥣
I remember, long ago, my dad just saved this movie and its sequel (yes, there's a sequel, somehow) on one of our disks one day, out of nowhere, and I just kinda forgot about it. This video just brought it all back. Man, I love when the internet just unlocks a deep, faded memory.
I’m losing it. YOU DID UNLOCK THIS MEMORY. The MOMENT I saw that wizards scale I lost it
So, I never watched this as a kid BUT we did have the sequel on DVD. My sister and I would watch it all the time and yet I barely remember anything about it. Thank you for unlocking this deep fever dream like memory
The problem with finding Nikkis channel only six months into her posting on it is that I only have six months worth of content to binge
this movie has always been stuck in the basement of my mind just because of the hot stepmother
I was completely obsessed with this movie. Nothing but fond memories that are totally not just nostalgia
I remember watching this movie as a kid and I used to love it but lost my dvd and forgot it’s name
And there’s also i second of this movie i think cause I had like a 2 in 1 dvd box
I had no idea you had this channel, but I ALREADY LOVE IT.
That cat skit was goddamn amazing and so are you
Oh boy I remember this movie real well.
Technically making it a life for a life.
this is literally the best childrens movie ever. it feels like a dream its literally my favorite movie subconsciously if you remind me of this film i know all the lore and dialog somehow but if i have to think of it without the words being spoken to me i dont remember this shit. when i saw this video, my frontal lobe developed, and my thoughts sprouted.
anyways, hi!
the fact i thought this movie was SO good as a kid. ps nikki there’s a sequel that you should TOTALLY also do a video on 💗
I still have this movie on dvd at my grandmothers house. I honestly loved the goofiness of it as a kid, but I definitely see your points about it 😂
It’s such a silly movie honestly it’s awesome I really enjoyed making this video about it
Weridly enough I remember the second one more than this one. There's a part where a mom rides in a carriage then dies and it stuck with me 😭😭
I laughed my ass off. This was traumatizing. Thank you.
I just realized that the premise for this film is literally that new Wish disney movie
This movie and Hoodwinked I had long since forgotten from my childhood, but recently rediscovered them, and all this time I thought it was some bizarre fever dream
I think this movies concept about the wizard controlling peoples lives and the villains fighting back could’ve been a really good idea for a show
