    Awesome video I was one of the guys on the tee fishing for king mackerel but fyi we don’t use aerators for a reason the fish will die quicker in a bucket sitting on the pier vs a bait bucket in the water amd we need live bait for king mackerel amd cobia which is what we were targeting

    • @ZephyrFishing
      @ZephyrFishing  2 года назад +1

      Just need a barrel and a 12v battery to run a pump much better imo. No one in Florida uses buckets even though it's hotter than the DMV. I think va beach pier is the only place that ive seen it done like that, guess it's local preference. I think buckroe too actually. Were you the one with the white rod?

    • @blakeharvell2926
      @blakeharvell2926 Год назад

      No I had the black anchor rod on the far right side of the tee but we tried the aerator and our blues died rather quickly though it would work for bait such as threadfin or spots but most of the piers down in North Carolina like nagshead amd Jeanette’s all use bait buckets for live blues the same way we do that’s where I learned it from atleast and we had problems with people losing fish in our bait bucket rope so we tried the aerator and our bait kept dying within ten or 15 minutes that’s why we went back to the bait bucket over the aerator because catching live blues isn’t a guarantee especially in late season

    😂 I was in the vid yelling heads up when Lee was trying to gaff that southern. You should come back during drum season. The small ones are 40lbs. Next time you come out say hello. I’m the Filipino guy that always fishes the tee.
    Oh and FYI we don’t use aerator buckets because they sit on the hot deck and the bait dies much faster in hot water plus a bucket and a rope are much less expensive 😆

    • @ZephyrFishing
      @ZephyrFishing  2 года назад

      Ahhh didnt even know Lee was the one trying to gaff it. Too many Lees lmao. Do they run in the spring only there? Or fall too? I fish in FL a lot and everybody uses aerators. I cant stand buckets in the water 💀

    • @juslikewater
      @juslikewater 2 года назад +1

      @@ZephyrFishing the drum run is better in the fall. They’re done breeding in the bay and they’re heading south. They’re also hungry so they will hit dead bait.
      The only guy’s running aerators from the Carolina’s up past the bay are freshwater guy’s a bucket in the water can keep bait alive much longer than an aerator unless you constantly change the water in the aerator bucket. It’s why boat’s bait wells have circulating water for both aeration and water changes. Plus you have to have fresh batteries for the aerator to run. Oh well just explaining why people put buckets in the water lol
