  • I am really excited about the future of this fishery. I don't understand how anyone thinks this could make the fishing worse. If a lot of windmills end up being constructed off the coast of VB, that alone could be come a destination fishery. If you get bored of the seabass, skip to 24:00 for the mahi followed by flounder fishing at the bridge.

Cobia Live Bait/Flounder Setup (this is on the lighter end for cobia, good flounder bucktail rod):

Just found your channel and I love the fact that you fish while keeping the talking to a minimum.....some of these other fishing channels do 8 - 10min intros then breakaway after every fish they catch to do a 5min dissertation on what they caught, how they caught it, what they're going to do with their catch, etc....then the last 5 - 10mins is them talking about how they're going to clean their fish, how they're going to prepare the fish, how they're going to cook the fish😂🤣😅....I love that you just fish!! I subscribed

I think it could be crazy. Hard to say what will show up when there are enough windmills to support a really big population of baitfish.

I see you throw all the oyster toads back. When my dad and friends used to charter a boat out of Deltaville back in the late 60's, if we caught any toads the captain or mate would kill them.

What month of year was this filmed? I find the early season action slow, no Mahi or False Albies. It's now late Aug of '24. There are now an additional 50 bases installed. All of them will attract and fish. Hopefully sooner rather than later! Those are perfect size cobia. A lot of fun but you're not wasting all day with a big one.

Are the fish out there good to eat?
Lol sorry I'm a life long Alaskan 30+ years but may be moving to Virginia but worries that fishing is not going to be the same.
😅 Do y'all get any salmon out there or is it strictly white meat fish?
Any halibut or grey cod by chance?
Also does anyone surf fish down there?
Can you keep yellow fin and blue fin tuna, I just wonder because I saw these videos where people kept releasing them but driving them through the water to jet water through their gills. 😅 But can you keep them to eat?

I have heard that once power is being generated the fish supposedly leave? Not sure if the VA beach windmills generate power currently or not. I like the layout of the boat for sure, pretty comfortable fishing.

First of all, there is nothing green about these things. They destroy our environment and disrupt radar. No one wants to see this garbage in our oceans. Why support something that will destroy our fishing industry. There are many layers to this issue. At the end of the day, we are being lied to regardless of anyone's view on OSW.

@@nolanminor6761 The windmills off VB only generate intermittent power to the grid here. Also, they claim that these will last 25 years but that is absolutely false. Just look at the Block Island windfarm, not even 10 years old and they are falling apart.

First off, all these projects from New England to VA were rammed through without public input. Now they want to triple the number of these projects. This is reckless since they are no environmental studies on large scale OSW. Our utility bills will go through the roof. Also, no one wants to see this crap in our oceans and will have no impact on climate change yet why are we doing this. MONEY! We are destroying our commercial/recreational fishing industry by industrializing our oceans. Why support something that will cripple our fisheries. There is evidence that radar does not work around these things. Your radar will be compromised, were talking about boats colliding with each other. This is all an experiment. OSW has no place in our ocean. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

  • @drewbowers5476

They make good fishing spots. However, they are better/cheaper ways to build artificial reefs. These things kill all our whales and marine mammals! This will do more harm than good. No offense.

    • @drewbowers5476
      @drewbowers5476 7 месяцев назад

@@patrickmcphee770 No. it's the OSW pre construction activities such as pile driving the turbine foundations and sonar mapping of the seafloor. This deafens whales which increases the risk for ship strikes. For the past there have been 70+ whales/ marine mammals washing up dead. Another one washed up dead a few days ago in MA.
