Thank you! I just moved to the area and bought my forever home. Been learning about the area. I have been checking out the local navionics maps and such and there looks to be amazing fishing opportunities all over the place around here. Just got my VA drivers license and am about to for the permanent fishing license…. for both fresh and salt.
Thanks for the vid, MIdwestern born fishing Woman. Planning a trip for my first time on the ocean. I wanna try and do some fishing, and see what i can catch.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!. I live in Chesterfield County,(south of Richmond) and I am dying to come down that way and go fishing! I am a senior now and lived for a time in CT/Long Island area. Where in the summer, you just cast with a good presentation and you will catch flounder, blues, stripers with ease. Down here, (I've been here 34 years) it is so hard in comparison to catch your targeted fish! I appreciate so much you passing on the information you have, God Bless!
I never see anyone mention catching cod in winter from the beach. I caught nice fish in January and February in the surf. I used clam, squid, and cut herring. My places i fished are and were the pier on THE SAND BRIDGE BEACH , SEA SHORE STATE PARK and around cape Charles beaches on tide changes. Dress wam bring a comfortable chair , warm drinks, food and a fishing buddy.
Hey man I appreciate the comment and subscription. There are actually some good spots to fish in Virginia beach. I'm going to do a video on them this spring. Until then the lesner bridge has some pretty good fishing around it and Rudy inlet whereHey everyone, if your thinking of something to do for spring break or you are trying to get your kids into and outdoor activity that builds confidence and self-esteem. Well Darlene Ickesarnett and I got you covered! We are holding a fishing event for kids on the Appomattox River April 9th and 10th. The Hickory Shad should be plentiful. Make sure to go down to ARNETTS FAMILY STORE at 3020 South Street Chester, VA 23831and get your kids signed up. Colonial Heights Parks and Recreation has also posted the event on their website and has given us Roslyn Park for the weekend to hold the event. The local game warden has also agreed to come down and share his knowledge of the river and spawning patters of the Hickory Shad. We are also accepting donations of fishing poles, tackle boxes, weights, line, hooks, and bass pro gift cards. Anything involved with fishing that will help send each kid home with a fishing pole and some tackle. Donations can be dropped off at Arnett's family store where you also can sign up for the event. PS If you get the I don't want to go fishing it's boring response from your kids. 1 this event will not be boring event. It is fishing there's no 100% guarantee that you're going to catch a fish but if they do it will be a memory that they will remember for the rest of their life and a photo that will probably get framed. 2 From time to time fishing can get slow and it can be boring. But do not deprive your children of boredom. When kids get bored it allows them to use their imagination for every great invention, recipe, building, painting and any great idea was thought of while somebody was bored. We hope to see y'all there and as always... STAY FISHY! the inlet meets the ocean. Look up the channel 1fish2fish. They have a video where they show you all the spots. Make sure you check out my how to bait a minnow trap video if you're looking to get some bait. Stay fishy angler!
yeah!! Rudde inlet. start right before the bridge to about 200 yards past the bridge towards the ocean. stay to the side of the inlet and watch for boats. 1oz spro bucktail with some gulp bouncing it under you. maybe a live gudgeon on flounder rig dragging the bottom behind you.
