Used to be a big fishing pier just north of the inlet. Very popular for roundhead, puppy drum, bluefish, speckled and grey trout, spot, flounder etc. When the water was clear at Rudee on an incoming tide, the speckled trout fishing could be great.
Some back story on the statue in the intro and there at the end of the boardwalk. They are made of 100 percent bronze, patina'd by c/heat and took about 3 months to build by way of the old technique called Lost wax process, They were made in Fredericksburg va (2010) and shipped down to va beach for the opening of grommet island, a handicap park designed amd built by mr thompson, the statues are of his two sons. Jt is the larger of the boys, he had ALS and that is why va beach sponsors a yearly jt walk with thousands of ppl. I know all of this because i made the statues
@ZephyrFishing next time you get a decent one, do it! It's definitely a great baitfish. I'm just surprised how many folks that like spot and croaker haven't tried a pigfish. Tight lines! 🎣
Looks like I made them too popular. The one's I like to use are sold out. They have naked ones still but aren't as good. But anglers in maryland sells them too if you're from there. If you want to save money buy a regular pack and cut them up yourself. Just a little less convenient
@@ZephyrFishing How do you feel about filleting some spots and salting them instead of vacuum sealing them? I don't have a vacuum sealer but have tried salting peanut bunker before with some luck. Thanks for the replies! Great vids!
@@gerardom.2999 Ive salted spot before and threw them in the fridge. And left some just in a box full of salt. Nothing beats fresh beat in my opinion. Ive salted shrimp too, gets too dry if you leave it for weeks on end and become unusable.
Did anyone mention the amount of fish you're safely aloud to actually consume considering the intensely high flesh eating bacteria count that has closed this resort beach 5 years in a row?🤔
Everything I use is in the description. Remember change settings to watch in 4k.
strip of pinfish and a poping cork great redfish bait.bucktail and a stip of bacon is great flounder bait

Definitely good when there's no boats coming in out and 15 other ppl aren't crossing your line 😹
Awesome drone shots as always. Love the intro. Good work
You already know 🤝
My go-to for nighttime shark fishing in summer. The best time is when the commercial fishing boats come in and dispose of their by-catch.
Very nice 👍

Heyy man nice catch keep up the good work! :)
Appreciate it bro, struggling with the hurricane atm though!!
Buddy almost died on the jetties lol. Great spot though
Hhaha na he was in good hands 🙏
Everyone always seems to be upset when they catch pigfish but excited to catch spot. In my opinion, pigs taste way better than spot.
Never tried pigs. I use them as bait in Florida 😂 might have to try now

@@mikeyb3880 ive tried pinfish, never again. I'll definitely try pigs when I find s nice eating size. Only ate the pins bc they were left over bait 😂
Nice intro
Appreciate it 👍✊

I'm surprised you didn't catch any specks or reds there, try using gulp alive
Water temp was still hot at the time so I didn't bother trying to target them. Shot it a month back probably. Im sure they're running now tho
Just moved to Virginia a couple days ago, can't wait to learn how to fish the ocean!
You're in a good spot. VA gets all the species 😈🥷

No idea up to you 😂
