Has this spot gotten worse over time? I’ve done okay in the back of lynnhaven but where you are never catch anything but the occasional ray or toadfish

The old bridge was so much better for fishing. Maybe over time it will come back but I am not sure

If you like catching shorts your in the right spot. Go up thr inlet there is a 50 deep hole. Caught paper work fish in that hole.

15.5" and it's shy of legal? here in Fl they only have to be 12"

Have to be 16" in VA. I was shocked by that size limit when I went to FL. You can still see light through a 12"er!

Jesus the regulations are unfair. It's 18" in NJ. If you had any idea how many 16" and 17" fish I throw back it would make your head spin. They need more uniform coastal regulations. I understand the northern stock of flounder tend to be bigger but it's no where even close to being 2 inches on average.

now there talking 19 inches and only 2 keepers instead of 5 per fisherman but u have to understand they are a specific targeted species in nj if you look other places they have so much other fish to target they dont really mess with flounder i know thats all i fish for in the summer but i am limited to what species i go for i fish from kayak myself.

It's all the same ocean with a shared biomass. Meaning a flounder that is tag off of NJ one year can end up off the coast of Virginia the next year. I just don't get why a person who lives in a less populated area gets to keep more fish than another area when it's all the same biomass of fish to begin with. Why not have regulations broken down by county while we are at it? At the end of the day plenty of PA fisherman fish in NJ waters and take fish, I don't see why someone living in NJ has to pay for that. Just have more coastal fair regulations. The only thing I know is that the average fisherman in Delaware takes more fish out of the Atlantic than in NJ because they can keep 16" fish year round.

virginia beach is one of the most densely populated areas on the entire east coast. its varies a lot here for a while it was 19" min. caught so many between 15-19".
