Travel over to Lesner Bridge to do a little fishing . Rod got stuck a couple of times under bridge . I soon found out I had a surprise waiting for me on the other side . Enjoy the video.
I recommend you switch your tackle for something lighter. 40 lb test braid is way too heavy for that type of fishin'. 10 lb test would get you a lot more bites. All you need is a 7' medium action rod and a 2500 or 3000 size reel. You will be able to cast way farther with less weight and have a more natural presentation. 40 lb is for cobia on a pier. Lighter line catches more fish, it's more fun, and easier to use. You'll get snagged less using less weight. I use 10 lb test for most bay and beach situations except for when a big surf rod is necessary for long distance and heavy baits. You have to adjust the drag right and you'll very rarely have a fish break the line.
Good show man. I was at that same same first spot last year and caught a couple small flounder and small black drum. We love fishing there.. snags and all
I'm from Norfolk,Virginia. Used to go to Ocean View with my Grandpa,Uncle & Dad a lot, croakers & spot were what we caught a lot of. I think it's in the fall when the stripers are in season. I've seen a couple of your videos, keep up the good work!
Nice Video, congrats, I am looking to come down there from Richmond to fish soon! I'll say "Hi!" if I see you Jerome! Good Luck, Tight lines! I certainly appreciate a fresh view of the area, haven't been there since 06, the old bridge was there.

Yes, totally agree . I will be using my medium action rod more . You are correct .
The best video I have ever seen on the Lesner bridge. Well done sir.
Thank you !
If you have enough weight you can pitch the current there. There used to be a sign on the old bridge with a skull and crossbones that said next!
