Sight Fishing Cobia in Virginia Beach - 4K

- In this episode of BlacktipH, I join Capt. Austin from Finao Sportfishing Charters in Virginia Beach to go sight fishing for cobia in the famous Chesapeake Bay. I landed in a tropical storm, which completely messed up the water conditions for the Chesapeake Bay. On the first day of fishing, the conditions were very tough, the water was dirty and the seas were high. On the second day of fishing, the weather was much better. I filmed some of the most epic and insane drone footage of cobia eating baits on the surface. This entire trip was a continuation of the 100lb cobia quest. I started this quest in Destin Florida and now I am fishing in Virginia Beach.

That drone footage was SICK
The drone footage is my favorite part about these videos. There's nothing better than being able to see the natural feeding and holding habits of fish. Being able to watch them eat from overhead gives some really meaningful insight. Bravo, Josh! Another stunning video.

When I was 16, I asked for a deep sea fishing trip, and the first time out got a 62 lb cobia. I didnt realize how big that was until watching your show. It is many years( 46! ) later and I still remember the catch and the wonderful taste of these fish. Hope I can catch another one before it is too long.

Great video I love cobia there good to eat and fun to catch my biggest cobia was 150lbs I was reeling in a small French grunt and it came up and ate it I thought it was a shark at first

Another great video. Excellent fishing in the Chesapeake. We did an amazing Rockfish (Striped Bass) out of Kent Narrows. The cobia fishing is fantastic. Love your drone footage. (You need a better Sun Shade for the drone monitor. Lol). You getting the shot of the cobia hitting the bait from the drone was epic! Nice job.

Hey Josh, I found that huge ray near the wreck when I dove in but no cobia on it. Still had fun taking you out on the wave runner and fishing with the drone. How cool!

My first and only Cobia was last summer it was 38 pounds and 48 inches. I caught him over the bay by Old Plantation Light.
