    So much for not diving alone..again

    • @KeyWestWaterman
      @KeyWestWaterman  Год назад +100

      I understand and never condone diving alone, but in my opinion this isn't "diving". I'm not doing "drops" or extended breath holds. Literally swimming around on the surface. Briefly swimming down to the bottom. I have no issue with swimming alone. I'm gonna pin this comment just incase someone is thinking the same thing. Thanks for tuning in 🙏

      We understand you are young n healthy but, please don't push your boundaries just for a video. Something to consider, if you will.

      I know myself, and my limitations as every individual should but that doesn't mean I'll go where Aaron goes and expect the same results. An individual must use their own head...you know, that melon three feet above their hiney, rump, butt, however you prefer to call it! Aaron isn't condoning diving alone, he's diving where he knows he'll be safe because of his professional experience.

    "A man has got to know his limitations." Can you guess that quote Edmond D. I turned 67 the day after Christmas and spent the morning kayak fishing deep in the Louisiana marsh, alone. I know my limitations and I fully appreciate the risk. I don't always wear my auto inflate mustang life jacket, but I do put it on when I stand in the boat and stalk reds, for example. When my time comes to be called home I hope it is while doing something I love like fishing. And when that day comes I don't believe that how good a swimmer you are, how fast you paddle or how deep or shallow you dive makes any difference at all for I trust in providence and in The One who knows that time & place. Aaron is a true professional who knows his limitations and understands the risks of his pursuits.

    About a dozen years ago I was doing some winter fishing for Chain Pickerel from the kayak. I hooked a nice one but, like your snapper, was on too-light tackle and it took me into some branches. The line snapped and I swore a bit, not least because I worry about leaving tackle in a fish like that.
    I was back the next day, fishing the same downed tree, and hooked another nice one. Imagine my surprise when I got it to the boat and found my jig from the previous day in its mouth!

    There's nothing like catching an 18inch mangrove off the shoreline. I travel (drive )1200 miles almost every winter to catch these fish. What a thrill it is. I just Wish I could hold my breath like this

    Fyi, my 1 year old and I watch your videos when she goes to bed. She loves "fishing" videos. The long dives without frequent jumps or edits are so relaxing to her.
    If you ever have a chance, I'd love to see a travel series that includes other locations like hawaii.

    It's so cool that you were able to spot that same fish again! And thanks for teaching so much about how to responsibly harvest fish. Your tips for "brain-it, bleed-it, gut-it, and ice-it have been very helpful for me. I fish inshore SC and now that I'm properly handling speckled trout, I find everything to be much easier, cleaner, and of greater quality. 👍 Yes, I spend a bit more time dealing with each fish and it may cost me the opportunity to catch others, but I want to be respectful of the life that I take and it's definitely a quality over quantity thing for me. 😁

    I’ve been chasing Michigan white tails for 25 years and have the mounts on the wall to show success and determination. I love the parallels of the old elite snapper and the witty 5 1/2 year old buck, the ultimate game of chess! Good luck getting your jig back 😉

    Love, love, love, this channel!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I saw a short video yesterday where they caught a big grouper and gutted it immediately. They showed us the heart completely out of the body. It was still beating. So I thought it does make sense to brain then bleed the fish, if their heart remains pumping. Have you ever saw this? Aren THANK YOU FOR SHARING THESE VIDEOS!!!! :-)

    A buddy just turned me on to your channel. I look forward to watching your videos. Finding the lost snapper is cool. I did that on a snook in 10,000 Islands. My fishing partner lost one, got cut off. Next day, one hour later, same tide, same spot, same mangrove, I landed a snook...it was his, we could tell by the unique "worm hook" he was using, still in fishes mouth.
