As a native Floridaman, I love seeing Gheenoe getting some love.
Haha best boats out there!
Your step Dad did a great job raising you tell him you love him and give him a hug as often as you can. My best friend was my father, I was blessed to be in the water with him all the time and crazy enough we worked together for 15 years. He is gone now I miss him every day. The years post Dad just not the same, just saying. God Bless
he's a hell of a man! thanks so much 🙏
Boat mechanic and previous rigger here, you have got to be the first person on RUclips I’ve seen do everything the right way, I appreciate the effort
Haha love to hear that!
That’s awesome man , I can only imagine how cool it was growing up around building boats.
always enjoyed it!
Good job pops you raised a great Floridian
What a clean setup. I’ve got an ALUMINUM freighter Canoe, which are real workhorses of the Canadian North.
Traditional freighter canoes is square stern, wooden framed, cedar strip covered with glass. It’s kind of similar type of Boat as the Gheenoe.
These types of boats are like the pickup trucks of the North, or the FLA. keys,,,Go anywhere, carry anything (two men, a moose, and all the gear associated with a week in the bush, mostly). But I’ve seen everything loaded into these things.
That’s a really nice looking boat, thanks for showing it.
I dig all the spearfishing vids... but this was extra awesome. Thx for sharing this.
Kudos to Mr. Gheen keeping it old school and still rocking an AOL email address! I miss getting their cd’s in the mail, every other week, and seeing how far we could fling them. Great channel, thanks for giving us a peek into your life.
😂
Still have our 13ft ghennoe my grandfather bought in the 70s with an old 6hp. Spent many long days cruising around the lake and fishing in that thing.
Really started listening when you said mosquito lagoon haha. I live native to edgewater and drop my 1436 Jon into riverbreeze all the time and fish those flats. Awesome to hear my home mentioned in your video 🤙
born and raised! spent many of nights flounder gigging in oak hill when I was younger on my first Gheenoe
Aaron this was a great video. The fact that you worked there when you get and they invited you back to help build your boat says enough about your work ethic. Then we learn he’s your father n law and that doesn’t surprise me either as proof that your good enough for the owners son. With you the best. Great video.
so glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
Nothing like NEW TOYS. 👍👍👍 TIME FOR SOME FILMING 🎥 NOW!
haha
Another great video. Thanks for the come along. Peace!
I’m a former small boat builder as well , nice job !! By the way , webbing is my favorite part of the build , I loved spraying webbing 😂😂
I think thats amazing he's your step dad. What am amazing upbringing. Good for you brother. Keep on keepin on...
truly blessed! 🙏
As if this man wasn't humble and cool enough, ooooo by the way I worked at the gheenoe factory o yea n the man himself is my step-dad. wow! man wut a story and a damn custom gheenoe too not everyday or ever you see a steering console on the nose cap! Just wow man
haha really appreciate you tuning in! thanks so much 🙏
Da-amn! You can teach a man to fish and all that....but shoot, teach him to build a boat and hunger, home, getaways, and vacations are never a problem! WOW! Aaron, sir...if I may say, you're the coolest hippy out there! Beautiful work! Have an amazing week on this beautiful boat!
haha thanks so much!
206 OXT 👍👍 Yes, she’s a Beauty. As usual, I enjoyed watching you as work. Talented
thanks for watching!
Grinding on fiberglass are things nightmares are made of. Cool build! Use to have one of these and kind of wish I still did.
haha seriously though
@@KeyWestWaterman I was in prototyping in my 20s. When I cut the Lego land race track plug in half that was the end of my boat style glass work days. Was a tug of war over polyester shrinking and timeframe to deliver to the customer. Kind of miss it even though it’s a mess of a job.
Great video Aaron! Not only was that an awesome video on how your new Gheenoe came to life, but you shared a lot of personal insights on how you grew up. Here’s to many, many new adventures for you and Madeleine.
Thanks for sharing!
glad you enjoyed it! thanks so much 🙏
you know i have such a great story with your step dad. he helped me get information on a lost title for a gheenoe that i hold dearly now, he really is a great guy
He is an amazing man no doubt about it! Love to hear that i hope it all worked out 🙏🏻
a ship builder.. beautiful boat indeed sir.
thank you!
Also cool to see where my 5'6" Classic was born. Thanks, Aaron.
glad you enjoyed it!
I had a 15' Carolina skiff that I enjoyed, but about 2 years ago my truck died and I needed to purchase a new vehicle but at the time I had no job and my only income was from my military pension which was not a lot..so I was only able to get a smaller vehicle..so I sold my Carolina skiff and my dad mentioned they have these small canoe like boats that you can put small outboard on and can tow with a small vehicle...he told me the company....yes, it was gheenoe...this was all during the pandemic....and I was only able to find a 13' high sider I begged the dealer to hold it for me...but he said he couldn't..so I went dukes of hazard to the road...made it to the dealer in about 1 hour normally wold have taken an hour an half...lol, picked it up with the trailer...I love my gheenoe. This was a really great video to see a little bit of the factory...I know my next boat willl be one of the bigger ghettoes, but for now I am loving this little 13'
Man, I love your underwater adventures but this was a really cool video. Thanks for sharing this!

I’ve always loved these little boats. This super 18 is really nice& with 90hp I bet she gets down the road real quick

Poppin rivets and crimping pins and lugs. Reminds me of my aviation days. Really cool meeting your step dad. Pro job Mr. Young.!
haha love popping rivets! he's one of a kinda for sure! thank you
Dude such a good video. And clean install of everything. I love that u got to build ur own boat and now make sick videos with it. Look forward to seeing u on the bottom.
extremely rewarding being able to put my hands on it! thanks for watching!
This episode is a testament to your accomplishments as a diversified human and makes me respect you more than just so guy who shoots fish
never stop learning, I truly enjoy absorbing information and skills more than anything. nothing like working with your hands. 🙏
I grew up in Pinellas, my grandfather had an 18 footer w a 6 hp tiller Evinrude. He took my brother and I fishing all the time when we were little. Amazing memories in that amazing boat. Awesome build!
thats awesome, they are amazing little boats!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Especially as an owner of a 16 Super.
love to hear it!
Thank you for showing that you are truly a multi faceted man. I can see the pride in your father’s face. He knows you are always going to be ok. Keep it up man 👍
appreciate the kind words! 🙏
Awesome video and cool build! Thanks for the ghenoe tour also. At the end of the video when its all rigged and you start it up you must be proud!
was a pretty cool feeling I wont lie!
Awesome boat and very cool Step Dad…
Thank you for sharing and taking us along. It was cool that you introduced Mr Gheen. I fished in a friends Gheenoe in the late 70's quite a bit. He had an El Camino and could throw the boat, the motor and the gas tank in the back and go. I was a GREAT little boat. Now I'm looking for one to call my own.
haha that is awesome! they are amazing little rigs for sure!
And you didn’t even cuss assembling all the hardware!! 🤘
Born in Titusville and grew up in Mims. Love a Gheenoe and wish I had one in SC
thats awesome, they are great!
Dude! They need to hire you for assembly line you knocked that out of the park! As a local to brevard cool to see this process
haha appreciate it! 🙏
🌴 I’m a 32 yr retired boat and yacht builder, it just blows my mind how expensive boats have gotten since the recession, I looked at an LT 25 it was out of my league as were any of the nice smaller flats type skiffs I looked at so it was plan B find a donor boat and make it your own way , I found a 1965 Cacci craft 11’ ft V-hull with three seats it’s got a 50” in beam and 3.5 in draft they were built many moons ago, the new lay out will have a bow casting platform and rear deck much like a typical flats skiff , now the good part it cost me $250 bucks for the boat and a galvanized sportsman trailer , I’m estimating the conversion will cost me $200 in materials, then the search for a motor already had a 55 lb thrust salt water trolling motor and found a 1977 15 hp Johnson that wasn’t started for 8 months for $200 👍🏼 total $650 not including registration, I’ve got work to do on the boat , New transom but this is going to be a fun build , project mini skiff is in the making 👍🏼
best of luck on the build! thanks for tuning in!
Nice build! I'd imagine a 90hp on that boat really moves!
Def does!
Wow! Awesome! I live about 15 miles from that shop. I may go check them out. Another great video Aaron!
Blue Point’s welds always look like perfectly stacked dimes👍. Gheenoe and Blue Point have awesome reputations around FL. Lots of Gheenoes where I live (Vero Beach). Used ones almost impossible to find.
they always do a bang up job!
Very satisfying watching this boat come together! Very jealous, this Gheenoe is a weapon!
glad you enjoyed it!
I love that area of titusville!!! Glad to learn about this place I always look at it when I drive by
One of my favorite videos! Awesome job
glad you enjoyed it!
I'm shocked you did this whole project without Will or Madeleine helping. Where's the love Aaron? 😁
haha
Love the Boat! I see a few Ghee’s up here in Jacksonville for years, glad to see their made just down the road!
Me too!
Clearly, you have worked building boats quite bit. Thanks for taking us along.
indeed!
Wow that was Awesome ..... The Boat looks Amazing ... So cool that you did so much of the work yourself.... Nice to meet your Stepfather and get a little bit of your background...
thanks so much!
The algorithm is working!!! After watching this yesterday 3 different videos featuring Gheenoe boats appeared on RUclips followed by another 2 this morning(No stress express and Glorious day Adventures 2021 Big Gheenoe Rally)
haha love it!
Shocked to hear the man himself is your stepdad. I’m a central Florida kid myself and grew up on gheenoes, that’s awesome
thats awesome!
I remember when they first came out, they had a picture of 3 guys standing on the edge of the boat to show its incredible stability. As soon as i saw that i just had to have one! These boats have always had a great reputation!!! Yes Aaron, a dealer in the keys would be an awesome idea, probably could not keep up with all the orders and business, thats a good thing. Id be happy to come out of retirement if you ever decide to go on this journey, still have a few good years left in me. Ha ha, great vid here, look forward to seeing you use and enjoy this perfect backwater boat!!!
haha thats awesome, they really are amazing boats. really appreciate it!
This is an awesome video! So sick that you used to work on boats out of high school because so did I. Such a sick boat and can’t wait for the back country vids you’ll be posting!
glad you enjoyed it! def excited about it
The wire management under the console, *chef's kiss*
haha
Arron, you’re quite the craftsman. Enjoyed watching you develop your vessel to exactly your specs.
glad you enjoyed it!
Great backstory. Sheds a tiny bit of light on what has gone into the making of my favorite YT Channel. Thanks for the look sir.
🙏
Dude! I had no clue your stepdad is Sam Gheen! That’s a fun fact! I’m currently redoing a 1984 15’4” my dad bought from Harley. Love these boats!
haha yup! and thats awesome, I had the pleasure of knowing Harvey and working for him for more than a few years. what an amazing human he was!
Livin that dream!! Excellent video.
glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome episode on all the detailed work !!
glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for letting us see the journey of the build. You are a very talented person. Love the Gheenoe, great color choice too.
happy to!
I've done fiberglass work on some of my old boats over the years and quickly learned that it wasn't for me. I hated every second of it, LOL. Cool build with an awesome result. Thanks for sharing!
haha I can totally understand that!
Dude I haven't been watching unfortunately w life! But this build is super dope! Can't wait to see u rip that joker n slay'em!
glad you enjoyed it!
Nice to see you do this awesome . Really nice to meet your stepdad . Coolest video yet. Thanks Aaron

That’s great your connection with Ghennoe. I bass fished in my brother in-laws 25+ years ago in little lakes and ponds in NW Fl and Al. Good times
thanks for watching!
Damn, that is a beautiful boat. You did a great job with your step dad.
love how it came out!
you sir are a master boat builder in addition to being a first class waterman.
wow, what an interesting process on fiberglass molds and how its made! thanks for taking the time to film the process! man, that is a fine setup!
glad you enjoyed it!
sick cheat code " i use to work here now i get to do my own sick gheenoe"! choice!!
haha
I’m going to build one from scratch. Been talking with my mentor who used to live in Titusville and worked at Searay. Now on Lanier in Georgia
its pretty rewarding!
My sons first boat was a Custom order from them. Great first boat for a 15yr old. We loved that thing. Thank you.
P.S. dont ever try to jump start it with polarity backwards. The Tohatsu ECM will be smoked. LoL
thats awesome they are great little boats!
Hi Aaron. I LOVE your videos man. You are so talented. I spearfish mostly in Key Largo with my two sons. Hopefully we bump into you someday. You are very humble. Other RUclipsrs tend to brag but you keep it real. Damn!....and you reply to all the comments too. You are where you are, not because of luck, but because you worked very hard for it. ENJOY.
really appreciate the kind words and love to hear you enjoy the videos! thanks so much 🙏
I was going to get one of these years ago and ended up getting a solo skiff. Having two boys now wish I went with this option😂
haha its never too late!
Watched the last shuttle launch sitting on a little dock in Titusville all those years ago… love the build, she’s a little ripper that gal!!! Always enjoy the content brother
thank you!
My first boat was a Gheenoe 1979 Highsider with a 15hp Johnson two smoke. Custom built it myself from the barehull, boy do i miss that thing! Love the guys at gheenoe, they make awesome one of a kind boats. Often imitated, never duplicated! i like to think of them as the Harley Davidson of boats.
they really are one of a kind!
Dude this makes my heart happy. Congrats on the clean build and showing love to Sam and everyone in that shop. Awesome folks. "Smooth as peanut butter"
thanks so much! 🙏
At first I was like he has a lot of confidence drilling holes and finishing the boat. Then it was revealed he used to build them! nice surprise in the video.
haha
Drive by there almost every day. Cool seeing the inner workings.
glad you enjoyed it!
Going to Titusville and seeing How the Gheenoes are built has been on my list of things to do for more than 20 years. Had a day planned for it last time I was in Coco Beach and had bad weather. Thank you for showing the ins and outs of your boat build I love watching your boat build come to life. Its very intresting to me that your a part of the Gheen family. Doing things with great detail and quality definitely runs in the family.
glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
Great video, love the build content. Commenting for the algorithm!
thanks so much!
This is the life I've been wanting, keep on keeping on Aaron
🙏🏻
Console on the bow is sick

Probably my favorite video yet - great content!
glad you enjoyed it!
Wow! Loved this video. Glad you mentioned about wearing a mask. My brother n law has done glass work for years amongst other things he should have been wearing for. Just passed at 66yrs old. Died of Mac Lung Disease. By time we talked him into seeing a doctor it was too late. Glad you mentioned the safety.
really hate to hear that.
Most of your videos are GREAT, and I learn something new each time. This one, FANTASTIC!!! I too own a Gheenoe. It’s an older 13’ and man, I LOVE this thing!!! I would love to get a bigger model!
Thanks for making this video! REALLY COOL! The Gheenoe Factory would be neat to visit!
