  • Not a breath of wind, fishing 180kms out to sea in 1 metre of water, this was the most incredible day I've witnessed on the ocean, it felt like you could see every grain of sand.
We catch a GT and jig up some amazing fish/take the journey back home and a review on the trip.
This is ep 3 of 3. I hope you have enjoyed the series and I plan to film many more adventures into the year.

I've had maybe about a dozen days on the reef like that since the 90's. Glassed out, slack tides, 20m+ visibility, even seen 40m vis. It's magic.
My times witnessing it were before cheap underwater video cameras and youtube. All I have is the memories. It's nice to see it again, even if it's on a screen.
Brings back some awesome memories that not all that many people were lucky enough to have had.

did the reef look like this before? or is it always looks like this?
cause from what i see, it's just "skeleton" everywhere, those greyish, no colour, just dead corals everywhere.

I was lucky enough to dive the Barrier reef (of Heron Island) in the seventies. I remember I could not believe the amount of colors you could see in just 30 ft. I'm older now...and I still wear a dive watch. I always will.

I lived on the reef for a year, fishing my brains 🧠 out, snorkelling diving, cooking 🍳 on 2 charter boats; became dive master, caught so many species, big Spanish daily; using those river trout lures that spin a small tin tear-drop thingie, got a dozen 4kg trout just before sunset slowly motoring along the edge ❤yummy fed 14 on the mother ship 😊
