- Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel Kayak Fishing. Part two of a recent trip on the bay, we found lots of big fish and caught plenty of them. Mixture of sight fishing and vertical structure fishing, really neat day out there!

The concept of being tugged around by a giant fish on your line is awesome. Love the adventure of it!
I've been dragged around by stingrays and redfish in my kayak and it's a lot of fun. I fish around the HRBT or in the Poquoson area usually.
The bay is NEVER that flat when I'm out. Envious of that weather! Make a smallish lip gaff with an old fishing pole. Giant hook with minimal to no barb. Easy way to handle a big fish while trying to stay on your yak and handle other stuff.
Good idea but remember you can't gaff cobia in VA
Your videos and commentary are excellent. So impressed by your versatility.
I grew up in Florida and I always heard that the secret to catching sheepshead is setting the hook just before they bite the bait 😂
Now I live in Hampton and I kayak around the HRBT or go up to Poquoson. I haven't really tried to fish for sheepshead up here but I should. I'm too obsessed with jigging for flounder and redfish. But I have a place to get all the fiddlers I want.
Hopefully my buddies will want to go to the other bigger tunnel. I haven't been fishin' there yet. I've been here a year now and I'm still learning the area.
Cool video, it helps me for sure. I definitely need a fish finder for my yak. Other than that I need to learn more spots to go with good launches.
Geez what a tank of a redfish! Awesome catch.
"Im a uni-turner. I can't turn left." - Ben Stiller 😂
That big drum was a TANK ! All the fish were great, good job.
Congrats on the fish man that was fun to watch. And good job battling through your boat and camera issues and still putting together a great vid
Camera issue was tough but the boat issue definitely helped me find some fish! Sometimes you just gotta roll with it.
I have always left the big claw on the fiddler crab. Fish will see that claw and know dinner is served. Thank you for the video!
Wow. Awesome video and great content! Nice cameo with Elias.
Elias is my go to guy. You guys should hook-up more often. Considering the situation you had, nice video
I’m from Florida so sheepshead can get overlooked a little by some people when talking about their favorite fish to target but man who doesn’t love a big sheep
They are pretty cool!
I hope I can catch a sheep that big!
Ridiculous day! Your Uncle will be eating good. Healthy fisheries!!!!
Man that's awesome, you're killing it. I wish I can get one of those, it will taste great grilled in the oven. I see the guys catching all that juicy good fishy like Grouper, snappers, Drums and so on. However no one told me if I want one. Well I really do, you catch it, I'll take it, cook it and eat it. Lolll. Keep it up.
You can't keep redfish/ red drum over 26" in VA and when they get big they're full of worms and parasites. They're better off making babies. We can keep them from 18-26".
Grit and compassion in one video.
AWESOME!! We are so lucky to live here in VB where the fishing is great
That first fish was a nice one.
Good fishing 🎣 👍
Grew up fishing around that bridge in the 70's mostly spot, croaker, flounder, sea robins ,bluefish some sea bass..Never a big redfish though.
Great fishing, your awesome man, keep it up🙌🏻
Wow that was a monster.
Brother that's a big Bull Red for real. Size large. Buy yourself a pair of grips man it makes life alot easier as they lock on the jaw and doesn't hurt the fish. Great stuff man!!! Do you guys see many Sharks in the Bay???? The Rapala fish grips float and have a nice lanyard and although they are plastic I have lifted a bunch of big Amberjacks with them
I had a pair of grips directly behind me but I'm so used to not using them that I forget they are there. There were a couple sharks around, Elias had one swim up beside him when we were fishing. Not much size to any of the ones I have ever seen in the bay, but I'm sure they are around.
@nolanminor6761 Yeah with that much life in those blitzes you'd think big Bulls would be up in there
Great fishing video! I've never tried those cadillac type kayaks. I bought a cabela's Mojo Angler sit on top with added backrest and center console gear. Just paddle lol mainly have whitewater kayaks in my collection.
The amount of hours I've logged on the Hobie PA plus a 12' sit-on I use still doesn't compare to what I did on the 10' sit-in I used from when I was about 12 through my sophomore year of college. Just gotta want it!
Crap, you caught a ton. Sheeesh those were some nice fish.
If a big fish gets the jump on you and makes it into structure, double set the hook and pop the bail open asap while you reassess which direction its heading
Great video man.
nice Nolan. Great catch.
Yup... I spearfish in that area and other side. Its a crazy good area.
I love the smaller 10-11" inch long sheephead . Any bigger i throw them back.
Siiiiccckkkk vid dude💯💯💯
Very nice
Sorry that you had the boat issues, but awesome fishing regardless! Great Bull Drum as well.
I thought that sounded like Elias before you got him on video, but didn’t actually expect it to be him.
Hope you get your steering straightened out and keep posting awesome videos as usual. One of these days the algorithm is going to work in your favor and you’re gonna absolutely blow up on the tube!
I appreciate it! Currently replacing clutch and steering belt, should be back to the usual in a day or two. Really thankful things played out the way that they did, I got lucky in being able to crush fish with a semi functional boat
Nice video - two s's in Sheepshead
You are very correct, but no one says it that way
Great videos!!
I knew that was Elias when he first spoke
Need to start bringing a net bro 😅
Hey Brother. How much water did you have in that particular spot? Can i get a 21’ Parker sport cabin in there. I put out of Wise boat ramp for the first time not too long ago and caught some Reds but I want to do some more exploring. I Live on the Eastern Shore side in Parksley. I’d like to start coming down to the bridge more often. I’m Billy btw. Thanks for the awesome video dude!
What launch do you go? Been waiting to travel up there to fish
Hey man I wanted to ask where did you launch your kayak from?
Looking to go out there too, thanks!
Wait till you hook into a 75lb Black Drum.
take out battery and use a usb cord to connect to a cell phone mini battery charger, it wont overheat with the regular go pro battery out, you just got to be careful since then it wont be water proof
I think around saltwater that's a baddddd idea haha! I have thought about it though
@@nolanminor6761 yeah or maybe drill a hole in the waterproof casing large enough for the charging cable at least it protect from most splashes lol
Thought that voice sounded familiar
Please can you tell me where is this spot also what’s the fishing reel and rod are you using ? Thanks!
Location is in the title, equipment in description
Just curious, but why do you pull the claw off your bait? I don’t salt water fish and just wondering why.
It seems to help with getting more bites. When they're biting well it doesn't matter but it makes all the difference on finicky fish. It's just a habit for me now
What are you just fishing for fun I would be keeping some of those fish
I have a lot of sheepshead frozen from other trips so I don't need any more at the moment
Y didn't u measure the big drum with your rod, then measure the mark later.
It was big enough that I probably couldn't have even gotten its body straightened out to measure like that, and I was more concerned with getting the fish back in the water quickly. They don't do too well in warmer water
What kayak do you have I fish down then all the time I’m thinking about getting one how do they do when it’s a little choppy out?
They handle chop well but do not surf launch well.
What kind of kayak? and motor? Thank!
Hobie PA12, and a Newport Vessels NK180
What fishfinder do you use?
What was the date?
SheepShead😊
Where do you get your live crab bait
I catch my fiddlers in marshes at low tide. They can be bought at tackle shops, but with how quickly you can burn through them when sheepshead are biting, I prefer to gather my own
Are there any bait shops in the area y’all are fishing?
Oceans east is very close to the CBBT, they have crabs
Are you going for rock fish this season?
I don't really fish for stripers in the bay. I may fish for some schoolie sized fish in the Outer Banks but that will most likely be about it.
Is that a hobie?
Yep, PA 12
Not impress with the PA 360 drive as I’ve seen countless of mechanical problems with the drive. Idea is great but I don’t think hobie has overcome the issue.
I've fished that one for over a year and a half with zero issues. Think I may start replacing the belt annually. The fishability of the 360 drive is such an insane advantage that I'm willing to put up with some trouble for it.
one would do me in
Man: "Jees I suck"
God: You dont but also watch this. (Catches giant fish on bad cast)
GoPro sux. I keep saying that on every channel I watch AND mine. I'm going to keep saying this everywhere until GoPro listens.
Nice fish BTW!
Never understood why you guys throw the fish back I never considered fishing as a sport I always ate everything I caught why fish if you don't like seafood or eat fish definitely my opinion try fish guys it's good eating
