  • Prima Donnas are a major disruption to team synergy. This is the perfect workplace culture failure by not addressing the prima donnas. And what is a prima donna in the workplace? And what impact do they have on your role within the team working with one?
Being laid off / retrenched twice in your late 50s is something that is hard to restart. No one wants to give you a job. In fact apart from a few small companies also owned by older people, I have almost zero chance of getting a job. I've decided to abandon what I have experience in... 35+ years as a programmer and try and follow other creative adventures. So far, it's all fun and interesting to a limited degree, but no income is coming in, so the stress of my future is always eating at my conscious. To be honest, people don't care for my opinion or advice because you're old and you are seen as someone who should just keep quiet and retire. That's easy if your loaded with money. I'm not.
Losing your job the same week that Covid restrictions started was hard. More than hard, I mean impossible to get a job. That's for a person like me in their 60's.
I'm getting to the point financially where If I make a slip-up it's quite possible I'll end up homeless permanently.
I have a lot of things to say, but I don't know who wants to listen and on what topic. Please let me know!

A good upper manager should always look into these emails, and really see if the employee is actually doing great work for the team/company. It's important if you are ever attacked, that you save all directions and tasks in written form for your defense. Never take someone's word for it if they are out to fire you. Bottom line is sometimes people don't work great together, and in this case they should be trying to move out to a new project instead of trashing you over emails. Some people!

The situation was the CEO was scared of ticking off the prima donna as he had written the code that hooks into the web browser before I started working there. So he was vastly more important in the eyes of the investors. Like normal, they are only interested in profit.

@LeonaRasalas Welcome 200! Thanks for your feedback and support. I'm always open to ideas, so would love to hear them. There is an email address on the channel page, but it seems you can only see it i f you visit my channel page on a laptop/desktop. It's in the "More Info" section. Maybe if you visit YT in your browser instead of the app, you can maybe see it there.

Maybe it wasn’t your experience of working with someone like that, but I found that usually they would be fairly civil to your face in the workplace - but in emails and messages and communications not face to face js where they would stir up trouble about you or treat you a certain way. It’s so fake and self centred!

Yes, they were cowards in that respect. Always behind your back or in the safety of an email.

I found that they are also acting like extremely arrogant queer people as well@@Age_Blocked
