  • These great rigs are past being a couple years old so most likely some or all of your switches are no longer illuminated at night anymore.
This video shows you how to replace those bulbs in your switches like the defrost, hazard, cruise control etc.
    I purchased these from Amazon:

LOL dude, all your content is great stuff. Since my vehicle is new to me, ALL 5 of these backlights are burnt out and I didn't know it! I will now be fixing that.

I am happy my content is helping out fellow Montero owners. Simple fixes like these are just as satisfying as bigger fixes.

@@itsaboutfam If one were really OCD about those colored "condom" filters.....I wonder if it's possible to scuff the new bulbs with sandpaper, and then use either food dye or a tinted clear coat? Just spitballing, no clue if that would work.

@@BattleshipSailorBB63 maybe that would work. You can also get the covers from this site.

How do you replace the two wheel lights for the 4wd? Any bulbs for them similar like this?

I didn't have to replace mine yet. I would probably stay with the regular incandescent bulbs IMO. I am not sure what bulb type they are either.

You will have to remove the center console to be able to replace that bulb under the shift select indicator. I don't have a video of that but maybe in the future.

@@AJARC the gauge cluster has I believe 5-6 main bulbs to illuminate it which are 194 types. The smaller bulbs in the cluster I kept original.

didn’t even know the switches had bulbs , did you by any chance use all white bulbs on your cluster ?

Yup they do ...I figured they had to.
Yeah, I switched my main cluster bulbs to LED...they are 194 type.

awesome man thank you have a couple lights out on my cluster and it annoys the hell out of me just wondering if had to buy diffrent color bulbs

@@christiantejeda8607 The main ones that light up the cluster are 194 type. As for the smaller ones....I have a bunch of them I pulled from the salvage yard.
You don't want to switch all the smaller bulbs I. The cluster for LEDs because things might act funky because the circuitry is designed for the higher resistance electrical current of filament type bulbs.
