  • What started out as a globe replacement ended up being an LED replacement with a blue hue for the entire Instrument Cluster on the Mitsubishi Gen 2 NK Pajero. Also check out EP2 & EP3 for more LED upgrades.

    Super helpful channel for a car that is never spoken about, you've got yourself a sub. Just wish you'd have some sort of camera stand so that you could do the work infront of us

    They look great, a bit of mucking around but it’s worth it. Is there any particular wattage that you need to get, or are T5 LED only in one strength? Are they available in white, or just purple?

      You can get them in a range of colours, mate, T5 5050 SMD bulbs with wedge. Ebay is the place to go. They can be a bit bright but use the dimmer switch.

    Any idea if T5 sockets could be used in place of T4s? I have the Pajero Evo and the gauges lights are slightly different. Some in the bottom center are T4 Neo Wedge (same as used in the compass of the trigauge)

      HI mate, I wouldn't be sure if you could. Seems your model is very different to the my particular model. I'd hate to offer up incorrect advice, they actually look to me that they are not a wedge type?

    Back again - A few questions
    How did you test the lights that only illuminate under certain conditions?
    For some reason my indicators arent working at all now - including swapping the original halogens.
    For some reason now my Brake Warning light is on (red circle with exclamation point)

    • @dodgy_garage_4x4
      @dodgy_garage_4x4  Год назад

      So with my model, all the lights will illuminate at startup as a test.... It was just simply trial and error, if they didn't work I would flip the bulb around to change the polarity of the LED. The red Brake Light will illuminate if there is a brake issue, like low fluid, but it also ilumuniates when the hand brake is on. Have you been flipping the bulbs around if they don't illuminate?

    Do you know what size/type the 2 Blue small twist caps are? They each had slightly larger bulbs than the rest of the T5s.

      @@dodgy_garage_4x4 Not those, but now looking back at the video yours is slightly different than my Pajero Evolution. The lowest gear selection bulb is a different size than the other 5 black twists, and I have an additional blue cap that you dont have on the board at all. Interesting. Well back to the drawing board haha

    Hi mate, Thanks for the inspiration i,ll give mine a go now. Just curious does the dimmer still work? And is the LED kit specific for gen2 pajero. cheers all the best.

      Yes mate, the dimmer still works, no problem. Give it a crack pal, it's an easy mod. Feel free to reach out if you get into strife.

    • @dodgy_garage_4x4
      @dodgy_garage_4x4  Год назад +2

      Oh and no any T10 and T5 LED will work. Go for 5 x T10 and around 20 x T5 for a full conversion. 1 x T10 needs to be white for the fuel light. But the other 4 can be whatever colour takes you fancy. If you want to do the other clusters then you'll need another 2 x T10 and 2 x T5

    Can you fit the t5 & t10 without unplugging the cluster? Like you did the climate control dash lights? Looked like there's just enough room?

    How many of each bulb is needed? could you maybe provide a list of how many red, green, blue, etc? Or what they associate to?

    • @dodgy_garage_4x4
      @dodgy_garage_4x4  Год назад +1

      Hi, so the amount of bulbs is really dependant on how many you want to replace. I just replaced the most common ones leaving some of the warning bulbs as is. The LED bulbs come in packs of 5 or 10 on eBay I think, I ended up with 20 x T5, to do all three clusters and 10 x T10 just for the main cluster. So you will need blue for all but the illumination bulbs, if you wish to change that colour from white, as the cluster itself has the colour built in to it for the indicators and warning lights. Again, It's only if you want to change to a different illumination colour like i did with the blue you will need both clear and the colour of choice. So i used 3 clear for the T10's and 4 blue T10's for the illumination and that's just for the main instument cluster. All the T5's in the main cluster are clear, and all the T5's in the other two clusters are blue as they are for illumination only.
      Hope that helps, and thanks for watching.

      I think the tri-cluster is T10 x 2 as well not T5

    Hello! I know this might be a simple task that I can do alone, but excuse me since im a total beginner. I wanted to ask it you could make a video, or a youtube short in this case, about how to replace both the driver side & passenger side interior lamps in this pajero, and how we'd have to place them if we chose LEDs rather than bulbs

    Mate, i know you have answered this a lot but can you please answer my specific questions. I just bought a 1993 Pajero and want to change all cluster bulbs.
    First question is how to choose colors? I am merely looking to make the backlight blue and all four needles red (rpm, speed, temp and fuel) i don't want to touch any other bulb. So if i install blue t5 or t10 will the light bleed into hazard light or warning light area?? Also I didn't see any separate bulb for the needles? But I saw another video where that guy made his blacklight White but needles green! So confused 🤔
    Second is not related to cluster LEDs but exterior LEDs. Do you have any idea what socket is rear turn signal? Front turn signal? Rear brake light? Front parking light? Fender turn signal? I know reverse light is 1156 socket but no clue about other sockets?
    Sorry for these long questions but help a fellow Pajero brother out 😊

    • @dodgy_garage_4x4
      @dodgy_garage_4x4  10 месяцев назад
