Best part was the A-Wings dropping out of the Corvette. Had idea that was a thing!
You just know that with concealed hangars and the piping for 2 mega-lasers that the crew amenities are cramped as heck though ^^
It actually isn't, it's a fan made ship based upon a background Corvette we don't ever get to see a full shot of in the movies.
There's an EC henry video on it if you're interested. :)
Also whaaaaaat? Several people I'm subscribed to are here.
Hey there MandR.
That scene was sick, also loved the splicing of gazanties.
That was really cool, I was not expecting that
Hi Ryan it’s a fan made ship go to the EC Henry channel
Imperial: They won't get past us.
Rebels: I'm gonna end this mans whole career.
Literally! I did not expect the CR90 to have two Freaking Death lasers on it and carry eight A-wings!!
@@thereclaimer2945 You should check out EC Henry's video "The Secret CORELLIAN CORVETTE in Return of the Jedi" where he kinda designs what he calls the CR110 which is what is used in this short. Really interesting watch.
And their lives
@@thereclaimer2945 its cr110 corvette
Wow. A meme. Such a meme.
That Corvette had kind of a dangerous look at the beginning. Just kind of hanging back, slowly moving behind the shuttle, slightly off angle. Love the idea of a steady beam of energy type weapon, similar to what the Republic units used to attack the Separatist Core ships from the ground on Genonosis.
It was a nice addition, and I like that it's a fully established weapon as well. I believe we even saw them using that weapon in the Battle of Coruscant in the opening of RotS to shoot out of a Venator's hanger bay, and I believe in rebels there was even a B-wing version with a similar weapon to this one.
@@jamesashcroft8170 is it? Far as I know it's new.
I've always said they needed a weapon in star wars that was basically the same thing as a lightsaber but for capital ships. That's basically what the death star was anyway, a giant lightsaber. It even used the same type of crystals to focus the energy.
@@red244 it looks similar to the cannon on the heavy artillery walker from the battle of geonosis
Yes, the beam used on Coruscant was basically an artillery launcher from Geonosis firing from a hangar bay.
This one is different, EC Henry’s CR-110 using a built-in beam.
Finally, a Star Wars film where the Rebels are actually competent.
Just lucky rebel scum.
Feels more like the Empire was totally incompetent.
It's not a matter of competence... it's a matter of aim, and unlike imperials rebels DO can aim :D
It was a nice change from the Rebels series honestly. I can't remember anyone other than Hera getting a kill in an A-Wing, and it got bad enough that wondering where Phoenix Cell was getting all these replacement A-Wings and pilots was turning into an actual immersion break for me.
@daebi37
In the OT, the Rebels are far more competent than the Empire..
The A-Wing deployment was AMAZING 👏
8 A-Wings! Those imps are deadmeat.
I know what? That was legit sexy
Boy, the angle on the last one, it almost gave me vertigo. Congratulations.
dude yes! i've watched that one part like 17 times
And unlike the A-Wings in Rebels, they actually did damage instead of just dying!
That blockade runner’s a little overpowered 😂😂
That because it is a cr 110 it made by ec Henry and it should be like that
It’s exactly what they need
And I LOVE IT!!!
You mean like the original prototype for the B-Wing? :P
Just a tad bit 😂
SSOOO many times in the movies the Corvettes and Blockade Runners barely ever fire a shot from all those guns on board. Very nice to see one taking the fight to the Empire, even if it is a modified version. Nicely done!
Terrorists win!
Agreed, and what a nicely modified version too! It's a menace!
Modified is being nice. Complete garbage as there's no way that's realistic conversion. There's good ship breakdown channels this is just I want it to look cool who cares if it makes sense mentality.
@@michaelhensley5111 it’s an entirely different ship, cr-110
@@michaelhensley5111 the telling feature is the absolutely massive engines compared to the CR-90

@@oscarpeirera5925 Military shuttle is a valid target. Refer to what happened to Admiral Yamamoto in WWII. As for "alive for interrogation", have you ever given a thought as to how you can interrogate someone without breaking out the thumbscrews if they refuse to talk?
@@danielc2701 I must agree that you do have a point there, but may I remind you that since the rebelion believes to be on the right side of the force and wishes to topple a civil dictatorship turned into a monarchy, killing non-combatants is something even them would have some trouble doing as casualy as depicted here. And for the question of interrogation, if it fails the rebelion could simply make them prisonner to then be sent to a tribunal once the war is won and after the formation of the New Republic. But like sometimes not everyone is as they say, what happens on the ship stays in the ship. (If you understand what I mean)
Awesome work! It was a lot of fun to be a part of this. Absolutely love seeing the CR110 corvette in action!
Thank you for fleshing it out mate. It’s a wonderful ship.
I recognised it as soon as it released those A Wings
Always a pleasure to work with you! Looking forward to more collaborations!

Thank you Skyforge and EC Henry for keeping the aesthetics and essence of the original SW!

Holy crap. That was phenomenal!
And that A-Wing launch was just... *chef's kiss*
lol I just commented the same thing - absolutely get a high from starfighters launch.

I wonder if George Lucas ever comes across these fan projects from time to time like we do.
I think he'd be impressed with this one for sure. Great camera angles and pacing.
No doubt George checks out fan films from time to time. Or has people do it for him, to review and pass along the best items. Star Wars will always be his baby - even if it moved on, made bad choices, became a failure.
He always seems very aware of what Star Wars fandom really wants. What is most popular and treasured.
Even if he didn't always agree with delivering it, lol.
@@pwnmeisterage idk, lost my faith on him when i learned how bad he treated some Legends content creators and how he basically gave free reign to Dave Filoni to make whatever he wanted with no direction or limit
@@Fulcrox To be fair, some Legends content creators made rather stupid, awful things like midichloroxians and Skippy The Jedi Droid. The sorts of garbage which even the most diehard SWEU fans refuse to seriously consider canon.

I feel like this had to be the friendliest Imperial warning I've ever seen. Pretty sure your only warning is the one that you receive at your eulogy. This guy got like 10 warnings.
Everyone's talking about the blockade runner and A-Wings, and while they're not wrong, can I just give a shout-out to that gorgeous Golan 1 in the background? That thing looks IMPOSING.
That’s a trade/comm station, not a golan. Otherwise that CR 110 would’ve been shot up after the lander was destroyed
Not a Golan, else the CR110 would have been killed in all of 2 seconds
As others are saying, Golan I's are wayy bigger than that.
Definitely inspired by some old RotJ concept art by Ralph McQuarrie. It is awesome to see it rendered and used in an action scene, I've always liked the design.
@@inquisitorialcandidate-1237 If I remember right, there were three types of Golans, with differing sizes. But it makes sense to use the same design for a space/trade/survey station. Which would explain the misconception of the original poster.
Hell yes that slicing of the cruisers was sick as hell. Give em what for you plucky rebels.
Making them taste their own medicine !
I love how you managed to depict CR90 as an absolute menace. The way it slowly rolls makes it look like an aquatic predator chasing its prey.
It's the cr90's tougher deadlier cousin the cr110
It’s a fan design by Ec Henry
That’s No CR90
omg...fan films have come such a long way. Tools available to everyone, high tech, hi-powered computers make such excellent tools. Back in the day I was scrapping together for-sale signs, tank models, and battleship models like I read ILM did for Star Wars, and making amateur-level super8 clips. What a glorious time to be a fan. Great work here! thank you!
Interestingly enough, Mandalorian (and derivatives..) use a lot of practical models. The Razor Crest e.g. is a real model.
If not told, I would have totally believed that this was from the actual movie. Admittedly, the empire getting their ass kicked should have made me suspicious.😃😃
In lore: Almost every starship has shields
In almost every single piece of Star Wars media: I'm gonna pretend I didn't see that
Although I agree with your sentiment about how the corvette easily destroyed the two imperial corvettes (I think) to be fair that corvette used laser beams which would probably have high damage and easily overrun the shields, and secondly we know that tie fighters don’t have shields.
@@fierylightning3422 I'm talking about the two Gozanti Class Cruisers that got taken down like they were nothing
@@TedTheHobbyist Perhaps they are some crazy ancient artifact whose technology is no longer fully understood. They were found on a quest to the hidden reaches of known space!
Or maybe they are just a lore breaking after thought to make something cool looking.
@@thedalewardens9106 Nope those beams are standard on that particular corvette. The CR110. Its basically designed to be a corvette with cruiser level firepower right at the front. There is however always a price to pay.

Rebels feel like villains here. Since we only see the faces of the imperials, and seeing what the corvette is capable of is menacing. Nice job!

I misread that as Arwings. When did Star Fox get involved 😂
Very well made
I particualy like the detail is the Imperials trying to warn off the corvette, before engaging it. It adds just a nice level of implied detail to the background that might be missed otherwise and usually isn't seen in Star Wars.
Also as others have said the launching of the A-wings is amazing
I felt like this short film was trying to portray those specific rebels as the antagonists, they didnt speak, they werent shown, and they easily overwhelmed them with little to no casualties. I find it quite terrifying in actually.
@@harbour2118 Well, I came here from a clip showing the destruction of Alderaan...
@@harbour2118 When you actually think about it, outside of movies the Rebels kind of are antagonists? Its kind of in the name.
@@Timberwolf69 While we can debate our relatively small world Morales vs a fictional galaxy, Alderaan did have a small population. That in itself isn't justification for its destruction, but for a moment consider; anyone who was even remotely loyal to the Empire could of spoke out about treason to the Galactic Empire (Which would of spared the entire populace vs a handful of people in local government power), government that forgetting the meta information the viewers of the movie knows, was actually democratically voted for as reformation. We only dislike the Empire due to that meta knowledge we contain, but unironically Star Wars is art that imitates reality. If you dislike the Empire, you should dislike a lot of politics that people agree with, and go alongside each day. The success of the Empire and its propaganda, like all real life nations use today...would have the average person believe the Rebel are terrorists. Many in the core worlds, as well as outer rim actually see it that way as well. Hence why until the destruction of Alderaan, they were a small fringe band. Due to the destruction of Alderaan, kind of a mistep for the Empire in the long run, the Rebels were able to spin that as their own undeniable propaganda. To each their own, but this saga is one part religious war, vs ideology war in which Good and Evil are honestly in all actualities just shades of grey in comparison to warcrimes in the past before the "Galactic Civil War" period, very tame in fact.
When the beams came out all I could think was "Exsquidaly-fucking-scuse me?". Amazing work.
The A wing deployment and, dare I say it here, “the forward phaser array” were nice touches. That is what is needed.

There's so much subtle storytelling in this piece.
The way the Star Destroyer jumps out right at the start, suggesting that it has Other Chores Today. The way that two TIE Vigilants are assigned to escort the shuttle--probably dispatched from the Star Destroyer to escort the shuttle to its rendezvous with six sentry ships from Lancer Base, and prepared to jump back into hyperspace and rejoin their carrier in a few minutes (or, perhaps they even transferred with the shuttle FROM Larsa to a deep space rendezvous with the ISD, and are simply completing their run and will return to their home planet after). Two of the regular TIEs break off to intercept and inspect the Convor, leaving the Vigilants to march on with their charge. The way the Corvette IMMEDIATELY shifts from stealth mode to full combat mode--turning guns and spewing ships in seconds.
It's a perfect illustration of how Rebel hit-and-run tactics caused the Empire so much trouble--all in under five minutes of time.
I kinda get the point but for five minutes, taking into account the shuttle was transporting VIP's the ISD would not have left the area, that modified CR-90 woudl have been spotted way way sooner or if coming from hyperspace, an alert would alert the combat station, on top of that the station would probably decimate the corvette in seconds with the heavy turbolasers
@@yester8039 The ISD had stuff to do--it probably just picked them up as a convenience before moving on to its actual rendezvous. The shuttle met its escort fighters, which meant it was safe...it wasn't like a rebel corvette would be flying up through a storm on the surface orpretending to be an orbital satellite...and if there was one, it surely wouldn't be able to carry a bunch of fighters that would allow it to take out the fighter escort and strike at the shuttle.
What? Pow pow your dead and lets escape... oooh deep story telling... are you 9 yrs old?
@@justinmorgan2126 There’s no need to be a jerk about it. Just move on if you don’t like it.
@@yester8039 Lots of things in Star Wars take place at ridiculously close distances. Every single battle in the whole series is within modern jet fighter engagement range or closer. Star Wars is unfortunately dumb when it comes to such things, sacrificing logic for excitement. I like things that do both, for example The Expanse or BSG2003, but this is a fantastically done action scene within the Star Wars idiom.
Loved this. The moment I saw the A-wings, I realized, "Those TIEs are doomed!" A-wings are, by my understanding, one of the strongest fighters the Alliance can field---X-wings might be the most iconic, Y-wings might be the most resilient, but A-wings are where it's at!
It’s the fastest rather than most powerful. Different fighters for different roles really
The A-Wings make great recon vessels as well as interceptors. Few can outmatch their speed. Overall definitely a strong craft. But the B-Wing probably has the most actual firepower, which is one of my personal favorites.
The A-Wings were the first rebel fighters with them originally having quite strong armour and cannons but later in the war they were stripped down for more speed
Boom and zoom's the name of the game!
The most dangerous and feared fighter are actually the X-wings since it is strong in any situation while A-wings are really strong in a dogfight but weak when dealing with larger ships.

This fan film REALLY hits home exactly how fast and devastating Rebel hit-and-run strikes could be. The whole attack, from the first shot fired until the Rebels jump back into hyperspace, lasts literally one minute. Watching this, it's easy to understand how even though the Rebels were vastly outnumbered and outgunned by a superior enemy, they could still be a fearsome foe.

That launch kind of looks like babylon 5. Though hiding 8 fighters is a neat trick. Plus you don't have to recover them because they can jump too. Very novel.

Brutal rebel strike. The Empire will surely make an aggressive show of force to temper growing rebel arrogance!
epic. wasn't expecting the A Wings drop and the Death Star lasers. nice. very nice.
OMG surprise A-Wings! Talk about a proper rebel plan. Show us the good guys being competent and using surprise rather than the empire being worthless. They used new tech and a modified corvette to do massive damage. I love that it show both sides in this videos.
In a straight-up fight, the empire wins
With surprise, the Rebels pull out victories
Love this shit, keep up the great work!
excellent balance between crisp models and episode 4 explosions
While I've always found "miniaturized-superlasers" (as also seen on the Republic gunships and the B-wings in Rebels) to be a rather cheesy addition to the canon, this is still incredibly well done and better than anything Disney has put out. Beyond the actual work itself, it just captures the right OT feel as well. Awesome job! EDIT: I notice the TIE fighters are a bit different. Perhaps specially equipped with hyperdrives?
Pretty sure the TIEs were these ones: ruclips.net/video/aYpbVrXFSqQ/видео.html
I was immensely pleased with the hotdrop A-wings but the super lasers were a disappointment, that ship's tonnage was already well above the Gozantis, and the corvettes all had a couple turbolasers if I recall correctly. It would have been an engaging fight.
But with how effective the forward guns we're shown are, it gives the impression that the corvette could have easily taken on the station and that the battle was ended arbitrarily.
Personally, I love when Star Wars has Different Weapons. There's fifty thousand different cultures out there, and billions of celestial bodies that can all contribute some different resource or technological pathway. Give me Martian Heat Rays, Samus's arm cannon, phasers, rail guns, and that really cool spinny-rapid-fire-energy-beam-wheel from The Iron Giant...just tweak it a little to make it Star Wars, and maybe say "It requires Twizzlerite, which can only be made from the crystallized skeletons of this extinct species on this planet way over here." Handwave it to be that it's just too impractical to mass produce, or too unreliable for military service.
@@thenowhereman8154 The station had yet to scramble its fighters--the Rebels wanted a precision strike and assassination mission, not planetary conquest. Unleashing their full firepower cleared a path for them to vector onto a hyperspace jump and be out less than a minute after engaging. Get in, hit your target, get out. No holding back...
Also, the Golan station's shields, armor, and weaponry were FAR beyond what the Atgar weapons would have been able to match. They could have disrupted a few decks, maybe, but the return fire would have ravaged the Convor.
I honestly don't see why turbolasers aren't ditched for miniaturized super lasers. Wouldn't it be more ideal for the warships in Star Wars to carry the same amount of guns as the gun only warships that came before guided missiles, than to carry the same load out as age of sail warships?
CR90 modified into a full fledged attack ship and not just an armed civilian freighter. Nice! 👌
It's actually the CR110 from youtuber ECHenry who found it in like 2 background shots in episode 6. He made this full beautiful 3D model, and came up with some fun little headcannon since Star wars IP essentially forgot this amazing ship
The CR90 was never an armed freighter. You're thinking of the Millennium Falcon being an armed civilian YT-1300 light freighter.
This is exactly how I would imagine rebel cells operating! And that A-Wing launch actually gave me goose bumps lol. EXCELLENT work!
This feels like a new era of Star Wars. Wherein people like you spearhead the efforts to explore the eras mostly ignored or forgotten. Godspeed, you are one of the best. That is, if not THE best
Solid looking character models, a Golan space station, great voice acting, amazing A-wing launch system and against all odds the Gozanti-class is still trying it's best.
A fine upload indeed.
Awesome. Didn't know corvettes had those kind of lasers.

The corvett here is a fan interpritation of a background ship in ROTJ called the cr-110 by fans. its a bit bigger in some dimensions so they had fun adding their own specifications and firepower to it.
This feels like it's borrowing from some of the Empire at War mods too, I know Awakening of the Rebellion has added a fair number of composite beam cannons recently
“They won’t get past us!” Gets absolutely obliterated
This was a thrill to watch!! Can’t believe it was over so fast, I want more!
I saw the blue engines and I went "Wait, is that a--???"
And then I saw the front of the corvette and screamed "IT IS!!!"
Then I spent several points saying "Do the Atgar thing! DO THE ATGAR THING!"

Man if this imperial remnant happened to have full versions of the Imperial Nebulon B from ECHenry.... damn... I'd have a stupidly huge grin on my face
Frackin' Awesome! The way the A-wings deployed and those forward lasers. WOW! Excellent work
Man those corvettes got buffed in this😂😂🔥
Great work guys!!
Wow that was one sweet surprise after another! I felt immersed in the story right away. loved the A-wing launch, and the modified tie and corvette. Definitely the kind of strategy you'd expect the rebels to use! Great out of the box thinking!👏
I LOVED THAT, especially the launching of the A-Wings, and "They won't get past u-" Laser Cannons Disagree
I would like to thank you creators for bringing to life what some of us fell in love with. Star Wars always about the spaceships and glory in combat. Not glowstick weapons and things like "the force."
Love when the camera followed the side of A-Wing cockpit as it was launched. Epic work!
This is amazing. I fell in love with Star Wars due to the game TIE-Fighter back in DOS days and therefore I really enjoy this kind of space skirmish scenes. Thanks so much to all who were involved with the making of this and the other videos. Great work!
DOS??? That's absolutely radical, cutting-edge stuff compared to how I learned programming. Anyone remember the Commodore PET ?
Absolutely stunning! great to hear a scot in star wars :)
I love the rear of those Tie fighters. They are like the old toy version I have two of.
I'm amazed. You're getting better with every single one of these.
One might say you are on the verge of greatness.
That Awing launch sequence was the best part
Oh… my… GOSH!!! BEST STAR WARS BATTLE IVE EVER SEEN!!!
That bow laser was COOL!!
