Playing Squadrons on flat screen and playing it in VR are almost two different games. On a monitor it’s a a lot of fun…in VR, it’s the kind of game you’ll talk about for years, especially if you’re an OG trilogy fan. BF2 had enough time and resources spent on it, the devs were probably glad to see the back of it...like most of us. And this clown wants to play it in vr..jeez
Man it’s just too bad the multiplayer is dead was such an amazing game on the oculus and even though I’m a Xwing kinda guy there was something special about flying the Y wing and B wing. Rotating the entire ship while dogfighting in the b wing looked awesome and the Y wing was a straight tank. Loved it.
I only fired up the game twice on launch week. It was just so apparent that for anyone without a full setup, that in the multiplayer that you’d have to sweat 110% for hours every day to not go 1-20 every round. I put it down thinking “man, I wish I didn’t have to try so hard to have fun. I don’t want this game to take up all of my gaming time.” Shame that people with VR setups weren’t able to keep a baseline level of life on the game if it’s as dead as you say.
One of the biggest reasons it died as quick as it did is that at the end of the day if you aren't grinding on multiplayer there isn't much to do. The Campaign is lackluster and the multiplayer, while enjoyable, is a PVP mess full of cheaters and unbalanced lobbies.@@TheQuadLaunchers
You gotta love how the massive Star Destroyer waits patiently for the fleet to arrive instead of obliterating them immediately. Very sportsmanly of the Evil Empire.
When you can nearly live out your boyhood dreams of being a racing driver and even x wing pilot in VR. Glad to live in a time like this where vr has advanced so much. All we really need are more expansive open world VR games than just skyrim vr and fo4 vr. Can you imagine red dead redemption or gta 5 in vr?!
Very immersive, the only negative is the motion sickness which takes a while to get used to, unfortunately for some people it is harder. (It's convenient that you mentioned Blade and Sorcery since that game helped me greatly to overcome VR motion sickness)
First time booting this game up was with VR. Haven't played it since then because I really wanted a good joystick with throttle. Bought one from a friend, but haven't set it up. I really enjoyed playing Tie-fighter, X-wing, X-wing vs Tie-figher and X-wing Alliance. The latter I really want to play with more people to control the "Falcon" and have all turrets commanded.
I love this content. This was genuinely fun to watch. You feel like a kid again finally getting to see what you imagined when you pretended to be a fighter pilot after watching the movies. Just as simple as watching someone play it in vr satisfied that “child in me’s” dream
This is a result of pushing multiplayer to make it enjoyable instead of focusing on better AI for single player. The original battlefront 2 is still being played because of its ability to be played offline and its challenging AI players
@Efrain Flores the single player campaign is pretty good in squadrons, I think the issue is the lack of game modes and maps, seems like the game was a quick cash grab they didn't want to support in any way which seems stupid to me but yeah, I swear xwing vs tie fighter had more multi-player modes and that game was out in the 90s using GameSpy lol
