The rebel alliance is in desperate need of progress. . . The ruling EMPIRE stands in control of all major systems, exterminating all who stands in their way to FULL power. .
As rebel intelligence possesses highly classified rumours
about an IMPERIAL gathering in the MUSTAFAR system. .
Dantooine base, rebel headquarters, scrambles
RED and GOLD Squadron to make defeat a possibility

Blender is free! For me it all started with making some 3D houses for a game called Unturned. (Thats where i got the name from.. Returned Nerd, huh get it xD?) I just fell in love with all the possibilities you had right infront of you, completely free! This is'nt an ad, but Blender is really recommended for people that wants to make games or animations!

It reminds of that final space battle in Rogue Squadron when a few of the rebel ships crashed into Vader's star destroyer as it exits hyperspace, while trying to escape via hyperspace...

Attacking 2 star destroyers with less than 2 full squadrons? Insanity!
Seems unlikely that two star destroyers and their TIE fleets wouldn't have annihilated those squadrons instantly, but ignoring that this is so epic!
The rebels plot armor still continues to amaze us
Dude, absolutely AMAZING! I loved the small details you put in that a lot of people miss, like the capitalized text and the small evasive maneuvers the fighters did. Keep up the work. Truly stunning.

Started reading the description and thought before hand there were like at least 5 people working on this for the small turn around time. That's a lot of work for what you did and it deserves some recognition. Be proud of what you have accomplished. I'm saving this in a special playlist to show to friends.
A HUGE amount of work, and thank you. But what unfortunately killed it for me was the lack of firing by the capital ships. It's like they are just sitting there. But thanks again for the entertainment!
This is so good! I can tell there went a lot of hard work into this video. The camera movement, spaceship animation and the overall sound design is what really sells this piece. It felt very natural to me, even though these are the things most 3D animators struggle with. The only things that need some improvements are lighting and color grading. They really improve the overall look of a film. Keep making things like this! You are a true VFX artist :)

Purely constructive criticism, Great job, but the ships seem rather slow and aimless, like they don't really know what they're doing. But don't stop creating great animations like this one!

@@HellebustCG great film but the x wings seemed a little fragile? They were shielded unlike TIEs so it would take more than single hits to destroy them. Great job though
I enjoyed seeing the X-Wings cut down. Consistent with the movies of not needing many shots to destroy.

“Ready photon torpedoes.” Anybody else catch that?
We must have gotten lost when we went into hyperspace. I knew something was wrong when we later came out of warp. Then the ordinance depot we came upon said "United Federation of Planets," and the personell could not stop gawking at our ships. We filled up with Photon torpedoes, which I figured was just a typo on the shipping case. Photon, Proton; tomato, tomatoe. Either way, they worked - and worked WELL! Hell, we took out a star destroyer with one volley!
I am definitely getting more of those, if I can ever figure out how to get back there...
One more thing baffled me. They kept asking if we needed our "phaser frequency" adjusted, because "the Borg." What am I missing?

Brilliant. Constructive criticism... More fill lighting, even though it may be more realistic in space some fill lighting would give a better look and make it more cinematic. Movements are great! Some scenes were truly epic. Well done.

Very good! I thought the SDs were a little blandly rendered- simplified visuals, but they seemed to improve through the film. Your visuals on the fighters of both sides were, though, quite excellent, and so was your integration of the audio effects with the visuals. Very good indeed. I've been seeing a lot of these pop up now- this is among the best so far.
It’s wonderful to see those with such a passion that shines so brightly through their work.
This special effects reminds me of Tron and The Last Starfighter awesome nostalgic special effect of the ILM early era
The music si greatly weaved and provides a nice immersion
these are amazing effects! The sound effects are great, the lasers are believable, the lighting is great (love how the lighting applies to the planet too, and that's not just a png slapped on there with no thought). If id have to be picky id say the ships don't go fast enough and the star destroyer models look off at times.

This is a shitload of work, amazing bro! As someone who made a couple of videos using blender I know the amount of work this represents
I quite like it. The Camera movement was matched nicely, the models and the textures where good too. One tip though: Increase the speed of the fighters/ the overall paste.

Nice job. I thought the fighters should have been a little faster, and the Y wings just waltzing up on the destroyer was a little to easy. But the rear cannon hitting Vader's wing man from the y-wing was a nice touch.

Wonderful work! I liked the cute details like the Tie getting smashed by the Destroyer. The sounds you used are very weighty and convey just the perfect Lucasfilm punch to the explosions. Well done!

i absolutely love it, one thing only, the hangar on the ISD2's is a bit further back, on the middle of the bottom almost, length wise.
Overall, astonishing work, keep it going.

That being said, I feel like your Star Destroyers were a little bright? Maybe darken their gray a bit?
Also Star Destroyers are known for having all sorts of canons and turrets, yet I do not think a single one was fired all battle.
72 Tie Fighters per SD would be hard to render I'm sure (and get messy), but I would recommend at least having your squads of Tie Fighters in groups of four, not two.
But again, super amazing!
How am I only just discovering these now? These are awesome. My only feedback is the lack of frigates or support craft since I feel like 2 wings of craft taking down 2 Star Destroyers is a bit much.

Mustafar is Darth Vader's home. I'm sure he was pissed that some rebels showed up at his own backyard.

X-Wings are shielded; single hits from a Tie wouldn't damage, let alone destroy them.

Attacking two ISDs with five X-Wings and 5 Y-Wings. Whst drugs were they on? I wouldn't even consoder attacking even ONE ISD without at least a dozen B-Wings. Since B-Wings didn't exist yet, if I were an Alliance tactician and only had fighters to use, , the biggest ship I'd go after would be the Arquitens-class light cruiser. I'd try to capture some and use them, in turn, to capture some Nebulon-B frigates. Even with Nebulons, I STILL wouldn't dare face an ISD in a pitched battle without B-Wings but I might go after a Victory-class destroyer.
Nebulons would get wrecked by any ISD unless its like 10 to 1. Really the amount of casualties from taking on an ISD would be horrendous. A few fights like that an the rebellion would be over lol. But an ISD can only be on one place at a time....
This is canon to me.
I really liked it. One thing I would change is give it more of a storyline to go with. I know it might be a little difficult considering it's all about the battle of tie fighters,etc. It also ended on a weird note that I hope there could be a part 2 to this :) overall I think you did a really great job working with the animation and the computer technology that goes behind the film

it baffles me as to how 4 star destroyers cant take out less than 10 rebel fighters.

Welp, that was frelling stupid. Sending just TWO SQNs to take on a pair of ISDs. Apparently Rebel Intel somehow knew that both ISDs were completely out of tabanna gas and couldn't shoot back. Oh, and their Command team were all on the planet, the Engineering Dept were all sleeping off a major party and Astros were fighting off a panty raid assault by the Storm Trooper detachment. That might explain what we just saw.
The Trumpian levels of random capitalisation, however, is somewhat more difficult to justify.
